Abstract

This study examined how Snapchat influences students’ motivation toward reading English. A mixed methods approach was used by combining questionnaire data and interview data from five participants. Quantitative data were evaluated descriptively, whilst qualitative data were analyzed thematically. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and questionnaire, employing various platforms such as Google form and direct calls among university students. The analysis centered on intrinsic and extrinsic motivations as informed by the Self-Determination Theory, focusing on the dimensions of autonomy, competence, and relatedness. Findings indicate that Snapchat’s interactive and visual elements notably bolster students’ intrinsic motivation by fulfilling their needs for autonomy, competence, and social connections, while extrinsic motivation factors were less influential. The study concludes that Snapchat presents a promising avenue for enhancing engagement and motivation in English reading among university learners.

Abstract

Speaking ability is one of the essential skills in language learning; however, many students still face difficulties such as fear, anxiety, and lack of confidence when speaking in public. This study aims to investigate the effect of implementing the Action Learning strategy on students’ self- confidence in speaking skill at SMPN 9 Mataram in the academic year 2024/2025. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi- experimental design, specifically the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of two classes of eighth-grade students selected through purposive sampling: the experimental class (30 students) was taught using the Action Learning strategy, while the control class (30 students) received conventional instruction. The instruments used were a self-confidence questionnaire and a speaking test, and the data were analyzed using t-tests with the aid of SPSS software. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the experimental class, with the average questionnaire score increasing from 36.1 to 47.9, and the speaking test score rising from 14.2 to 20.1. In contrast, the control class showed only slight and insignificant improvements. The independent-sample t-test confirmed a significant difference between the post-test results of both groups (p < 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that the Action Learning strategy has a positive and significant effect on enhancing students’ self-confidence in speaking.

Abstract

This study discusses the phenomenon of Sukandebi Village's income dependence on government transfer funds, which has increased significantly following the implementation of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of fiscal dependence of the village during the 2023–2025 period and to identify the factors causing the drastic decline in Village Original Income (PADes). The research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive case study design, using secondary data derived from the Budget Realization Reports (APBDes and LRA) of Sukandebi Village. Data analysis was conducted through descriptive statistics and the calculation of the fiscal dependence ratio. The results show that the village's fiscal dependence increased from 92.91% in 2023 to 98.65% in 2025, accompanied by a decline in PADes from IDR 71 million (2023) to IDR 13 million (2025). These findings indicate the dominance of transfer funds, which has triggered a flypaper effect, as well as weak asset management and the absence of a Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes). The implications of this study emphasize the need for income diversification strategies, optimization of local potential, and capacity building for village officials to achieve sustainable fiscal independence.

Abstract

The rapid digitalization of financial services has transformed global banking, yet the adoption of Islamic digital banking remains limited in emerging economies. The study examines the effects of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, habit, and personal innovativeness on customers’ behavioral intention to adopt Islamic digital banking. This study investigates the determinants of Islamic digital banking adoption in Indonesia by extending the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 3 (UTAUT3) with Islamic lifestyle as a moderating factor. The research uses quantitative and survey data from 147 active Islamic banking customers across Sumatra and employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that all UTAUT3 constructs significantly and positively influence adoption intention, indicating that both rational–instrumental and behavioral–psychological factors shape digital banking decisions. Furthermore, Islamic lifestyle significantly moderates these relationships, enhancing the impact of technological and behavioral determinants when services align with Islamic values. The study contributes theoretically by integrating UTAUT3 with Islamic Lifestyle Theory and offers practical guidance for Islamic banks and policymakers to design Sharia-compliant digital strategies that combine efficiency with ethical and religious value alignment, highlighting the importance of value congruence in sustainable adoption.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program carried out by PT Juyomi Sinar Labuan and its impact on the welfare of the surrounding community. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, through interviews, observations, documentation, and literature studies. The results of the study show that the implementation of PT Juyomi's CSR includes three main aspects, namely social, economic, and environmental. In the social sector, PT Juyomi facilitates free health services, ambulance assistance, education funds, support for religious activities, and distribution of basic necessities. In the economic sector, the company prioritizes recruiting local workers, providing interest-free loans to employees, and distributing village empowerment funds. Meanwhile, in the environmental aspect, the company routinely carries out reforestation and hands over industrial waste management to third parties. Although CSR programs have had a positive impact on people's welfare, some obstacles still arise, such as lack of transparency of information and negative environmental impacts in the form of reduced spring water sources due to mining activities. This research was conducted at PT Juyomi Sinar Labuan which is located at Jl. Taragengge, Labuan Lelea Village, Labuan District, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi. These findings show that the implementation of CSR contributes significantly to the socio-economic development of the community, but it needs to be improved in terms of sustainability and information disclosure.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the factors that influence the ups and downs of cocoa prices, their impact on farmers' welfare, and explore the role of sustainability accounting in strengthening the economic resilience of cocoa farmers. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study explores the experiences and adaptive strategies developed in dealing with price dynamics and maintaining sustainable plantation practices. The findings show that cocoa price volatility is influenced by imbalances between demand and supply, climate change, and global market volatility. These price fluctuations have an impact on the socio-economic conditions of farmers: when prices rise, farmers' incomes increase which allows the fulfillment of basic needs and sustainability investments; On the contrary, falling prices create economic pressures and a decrease in quality of life. The implementation of sustainability accounting has been proven to help farmers manage risks, as well as maintain sustainable plantation business practices amid market uncertainty. These findings are expected to contribute to the formulation of policies that are in favor of improving the welfare of cocoa farmers and strengthening sustainable plantation development.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the views of mine workers regarding environmental accounting using a phenomenological approach. The research was conducted at PT Sentral Labuan Tegar Mandiri, a C excavation mining company located in Labuan Main Village, Labuan District, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi. This study focuses on three main dimensions in the concept of the Triple Bottom Line, namely environmental, economic, and social aspects. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews and direct observations in the field. The findings of the study show that although workers' technical knowledge related to environmental accounting is still limited, they show a high level of concern and awareness of the impact of mining activities, both on the environment and society. The workers understand the importance of waste management, environmental preservation through tree planting, and the role of companies in improving the economic and social conditions of local communities. In general, environmental accounting is understood as a form of corporate commitment to environmental sustainability, social welfare, and regional economic development.

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of early marriage, commonly associated with social pressures transmitted through family expectations, community norms, and media discourse, which may also affect urban women, including civil servants in the education sector. Such pressures are often linked to vulnerabilities in domestic relationships, including potential verbal and non-verbal violence. Using a qualitative-descriptive literature review, this research systematically analyzes relevant academic sources to explore the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) values in shaping the personality of ṣāliḥah women as a form of psychosocial competence. The analysis focuses on three key themes: (1) the transmission of social norms from rural to urban contexts, (2) the conceptualization of ṣāliḥah women as encompassing emotional regulation, assertive communication, rights awareness, and coping strategies, and (3) the relationship between the internalization of PAI values and family relationship quality. The findings suggest that the internalization of religious values extends beyond normative dimensions, functioning as a psychosocial resource with the potential to act as a protective factor against social pressures and unhealthy domestic dynamics. However, this relationship remains conceptual and context-dependent. This study contributes by proposing a conceptual model positioning the ṣāliḥah construct as a psychosocial competence linking PAI value internalization to household harmony through self-regulation and adaptive social interaction. A key limitation is the absence of empirical validation due to its reliance on literature-based analysis.
