Abstract

Ethnomathematics-based learning grounded in the Qur’an is highly essential for religious-based schools as a strategic step to optimize the learning process. One promising approach is the development of Qur’an-integrated mathematics teaching materials. Unfortunately, many of these developments end after a single trial, despite the necessity of periodic and systematic evaluations. This study aims to continue the previous development of a mathematics leaflet sourced from the Qur’an and enhanced with QR code integration, by further examining its effectiveness and practicality. This study employed a quantitative research method, using a set of four validated test items. The content of the inheritance problem used in the test was adjusted to align with the learning outcomes in the fiqh subject, particularly in the topic of inheritance distribution. In addition to the test, the instruments used to assess practicality included an observation sheet and a student response questionnaire. Students who are the subjects are at the junior high school / equivalent level, precisely in class VII. In terms of effectiveness, the test results showed an average class score of 78.3, with 100% of students achieving the minimum mastery criteria (KKM), categorized as "very good." Regarding practicality, the average score from the observation sheets was 3.86, falling into the “very good” category, while the average student response score was 4.66, also classified as “very good.” The teaching materials produced are categorized as effective and practical and can integrate Islamic mathematics learning media and modules.

Abstract

Preliminary research involving 30 mathematics teachers at the MGMP VHS of Ketapang district and interviews with business world and plantation industry representatives suggested that 81.7% of respondents voiced concerns over the current mathematics teaching materials, which do not adequately equip students with problem-solving skills in line with their expertise concentration. This issue reflects on the quality of VHS graduates who are expected to be job-ready and skilled. The objective of this study is to develop a measurable teaching module, conceptually and methodologically, that yields quantifiable results in alignment with the concentration of expertise and the requirements of the business and industry world. The research method adopted is a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design through the Van den Akker development study. A quantitative analysis of 20 respondents, comprising mathematics and productive teachers at a center of excellence vocational school, lecturers of Tanjung Pura STKIP, Ketapang State Polytechnic, and a team from the business and industry world in the plantation sector, resulted in a Pearson correlation of Ryx1x2x3=0.949, a determination coefficient [r2] of 0.900, and an F-calculation of 48.06 for the regression equation Y ̂ = 0.566 + 0.444 X1 + 0.278 X2 + 0.135 X3. From these results, it is concluded that the concepts, methods, and outcomes utilized in this teaching module are appropriate. The relationship between concepts, methods, and outcomes in teaching modules on skills to solve mathematical problems is unidirectional. Expert validity on aspects of module content, presentation feasibility, language appropriateness, and problem-solving skills amounted to 96.88% in the Very Valid category. Practicality from the aspects of interest, material, and language places the category at 92.02, which is very practical

Abstract

This study refers to the low level of student collaboration in mathematics learning. The purpose of writing this article is based on the lack of interaction and role of students in the mathematics learning process on the circle material. Students just sit, keep quiet, listen to the teacher's explanation (teacher centered), so that students are not ready to master the learning material. Where students only learn with a memorization system so that mathematics learning becomes less meaningful. This study aims to improve student collaboration on circle material through the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model. This study uses a classroom action research (CAR) method with the Kurt Lewin model consisting of two meetings. Research data were collected using observation and tests. The results showed an increase in student collaboration after the application of the NHT learning model. At meeting I, the percentage of students was only 47%, increasing to 78.4% at meeting II. Thus, the NHT learning model has proven effective in improving collaboration on circle material.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of sexual violence in secondary school environments reflects the fragility of student protection systems, particularly in geographically challenged regions such as Kayong Utara Regency. This study aims to explore the implementation of transformational leadership and professional teaching ethics in efforts to prevent sexual violence in schools. Employing a qualitative approach with a multi-site case study design, the research was conducted in three secondary schools and one provincial education office. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and subsequently analyzed using data reduction, open coding, axial coding, and methodological triangulation, with validation through member checks and peer debriefing. The findings reveal that some schools have integrated protection values into their school visions and leadership cultures. However, weaknesses persist in the reporting systems and external collaborations. These findings underscore the necessity of strengthening value-based governance and implementing systemic training in transformational leadership. The study recommends the institutionalization of professional teaching ethics, the development of standard operating procedures for student protection, and the establishment of safe and collaborative reporting channels. In conclusion, leadership and ethics are not merely technical strategies but moral foundations of an education system that prioritizes the safety and dignity of students.
