Abstract

Anemia characterized by fatigue, weakness, and exhaustion, which may hinder creativity and productivity. Adolescent girls are particularly vulnerable to this condition due to their increased requirements for iron and protein during periods of rapid growth. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of anchovy nugget consumption in raising hemoglobin levels among female students at SMAN 1 Binamu, Jeneponto. Utilizing a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group, a total of 60 eleventh-grade students were selected through purposive sampling—30 were assigned to receive anchovy nuggets as an intervention, while the remaining 30 were given iron tablets (Fe). Hemoglobin levels were measured both before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon and Mann–Whitney tests. The results revealed a significant increase in hemoglobin levels in the anchovy nugget group (p = 0.001; p < 0.05), indicating that this intervention was effective in improving hemoglobin levels among adolescent girls at SMAN 1 Binamu.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of classroom management in grade IV students at Alkhairaat Mamboro Elementary School with a descriptive qualitative approach. The research was conducted to explore the dynamics of classroom management from various aspects, including the physical environment, student interaction and discipline, learning methods and media, to teacher reflection and evaluation. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, with informants consisting of principals, teachers, and students. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes the stages of collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification through triangulation and member checking. The results show that classroom management practices have reflected efforts to create a conducive learning environment, although there are still various obstacles. Flexibility in seating arrangements and awareness of cleanliness began to be implemented, but the effectiveness of the picket system and the limitations of modern learning facilities are still obstacles. Teachers' strategies in fostering discipline tend to be persuasive and educative, but not yet entirely consistent. Students favour the use of interactive methods, but the utilisation of technology is not yet optimal. In addition, reflective activities have not been structured as part of the learning quality improvement cycle. This research contributes to developing classroom management theory and practice in primary schools, particularly faith-based education. The findings emphasise the importance of a holistic approach to classroom management that includes physical aspects, behaviour, pedagogical strategies, and contextualised continuous evaluation

Abstract

Neonatal asphyxia is one of the causes of lack of blood flow or gas exchange to or from the fetus in the period immediately before, during, or after the birth process. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), 28 billion babies die after the first 28 days because that time is the adaptation period experienced by babies to determine whether they can survive or not. One of the leading causes is asphyxia, which results in 11% of infant deaths. This research aims to determine the factors that influence pregnant women's knowledge about neonatal asphyxia based on age, parity, and maternal education. This research is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach in the Kolakaasi Community Health Center work area. The research sample used was 75 respondents with a questionnaire instrument. The research results show that the statistical test results using the chi-square test, the probability is smaller α (p < α) (0.001 <0.05). This result statistically shows that there is a significant relationship between age, parity, and maternal education on knowledge about neonatal asphyxia. Therefore, it can be concluded that age, parity, and maternal education influence maternal knowledge regarding neonatal asphyxia.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of video media usage in Civic Education (PKn) learning on students’ conceptual understanding at SDN Limbung Puteri, Gowa Regency. In the face of rapid technological development, the use of multimedia has become an innovative learning approach to increase students’ engagement and comprehension. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design using a control group. The fifth-grade students were divided into two groups: the experimental class, which received learning through video media, and the control class, which was taught using conventional methods. Data collection was carried out through concept understanding tests administered before and after the learning sessions. The analysis showed a significant improvement in the post-test scores of the experimental group compared to the control group. This suggests that video media effectively enhances students' grasp of Civic Education concepts, which are often abstract and value-oriented. Video presentations make the learning content more relatable, visual, and interactive, thus facilitating deeper understanding. The study concludes that the integration of video media in Civic Education positively influences students' conceptual understanding and recommends its use as a supportive learning tool, especially in primary schools like SDN Limbung Puteri. The findings contribute to the growing evidence that multimedia-based learning strategies can improve educational outcomes and are especially beneficial in subjects requiring contextual and moral comprehension such as Civic Education.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a supplementary meal for breast milk (CF) using whey protein derived from the byproduct of dangke manufacture, a typical Enrekang dish. The research involved spray drying whey protein powder and making CF cookies with four different whey protein powder addition treatments (0, 10, 20, and 30%). The physicochemical parameters of whey protein powder were studied, and the sensory and nutritional properties of CF cookies were evaluated. A sensory evaluation of the CF cookies found that 20% whey protein powder produced the best results in terms of color, flavor, and texture. Cookies made with 20% whey protein contained 6.80% protein, 22.25% total fat, 65.98% carbohydrate, and a total energy value of 490.73 Kcal/100g. While whey protein cookies contain protein and energy benefits that are comparable with WHO recommendations for CF, some concerns require attention. The total sugar level (24.625%) and salt content (453.67 mg/100 g) were relatively high, necessitating modifications to meet the sugar and sodium limits in CF. This work demonstrates the potential use of whey protein obtained from dangke by-products as a CF ingredient; nevertheless, more refinement is required to optimize its compliance with infant nutritional requirements. Keywords: complementary food, Enrekang, local food, milk, whey protein
