Abstract

Economics education plays a crucial role in developing entrepreneurs who understand economic concepts, possess managerial skills, financial literacy, and sustainable business innovation. Within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), economics education contributes to job creation, inclusive economic growth, and socially and environmentally responsible businesses. Beyond simply transferring knowledge, this education shapes the character of creative, ethical, and sustainability-oriented entrepreneurs. Through a holistic approach, the values of business ethics, social responsibility, and environmentally friendly technology can be integrated into entrepreneurial practices. A literature review of research over the past five years shows that structured economics education can enhance individuals' capacity to build profitable businesses that positively impact society and the environment. Synergy between educational institutions, the government, and the private sector is needed to create an innovative and highly competitive entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia due to insulin resistance and pancreatic β-cell dysfunction. Early identification of metabolic changes in prediabetic individuals is crucial to prevent progression to diabetes. Purpose: To analyze differences in HOMA-β, HOMA-IR, and HbA1c levels in patients with diabetes mellitus, prediabetes, and non-diabetics. Method: This study used a cross-sectional analytical design with 47 participants selected through total sampling. Data were collected through interviews and venous blood sampling for fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin, and HbA1c measurements. HOMA-β and HOMA-IR values were calculated using the standard HOMA formula, and data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test with a significance level of p<0.05. Results: There were significant differences among the three groups for all parameters: HOMA-β (p = 0.001), HOMA-IR (p = 0.013), and HbA1c (p = 0.001). The DM group showed the lowest median HOMA-β (56), the highest HOMA-IR (4.2), and the highest HbA1c (8.2%). In contrast, the non-DM group had the highest HOMA-β (152.9), HOMA-IR (2.0), and the lowest HbA1c (5.2%). Conclusion: HOMA-β, HOMA-IR, and HbA1c significantly differentiated metabolic status between the DM, pre-DM, and non-DM groups. These findings indicate decreased pancreatic β-cell function, increased insulin resistance, and glycemic dysregulation that occur progressively from normoglycemia to diabetes. Therefore, these parameters have the potential to be used as indicators for early detection and diabetes risk stratification.   Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus; Homa-β; Homa-IR; HbA1c; Non-Diabetes; Prediabetes.

Abstract

This Community Service Program was implemented at SMKS Bumi Moro, Pulau Morotai Regency, a school located in a frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped (3T) region. The school was selected due to its limited telecommunication infrastructure, which has significantly constrained the implementation of digital learning. An initial survey revealed that the school relied on a single unstable internet access point, had only 12 active computers for approximately 180 students, and most teachers lacked experience in independently operating a Learning Management System (LMS). These conditions highlighted the urgent need for technological intervention. The program adopted a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach consisting of four stages: (1) needs analysis through online surveys and interviews with the school principal and 20 teachers; (2) design and implementation of a local Content Delivery Network (CDN) integrated with Starlink-based internet connectivity; (3) training and mentoring on Moodle LMS utilization and the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in learning; and (4) evaluation of program effectiveness. The training involved 30 participants, including 20 teachers and 10 educational staff members. Evaluation using a Likert-scale questionnaire (1–5) showed that 70% of participants were very satisfied and 30% were satisfied, with average scores ranging from 4.6 to 4.9. Post-program observations indicated improved teacher capacity in managing digital classes, conducting online assessments, and utilizing stable internet access. Overall, the program successfully strengthened digital learning infrastructure and teacher competence, offering a replicable model for other schools in 3T regions in Indonesia.

Abstract

Late childhood through early adolescence is a crucial period of psychosocial development, during which individuals begin to form self-identities, develop more complex social relationships, and build resilience and mental well-being. In elementary schools, the School Health Unit (UKS) plays a strategic role in shaping students' character and healthy behaviors. One example is the Tiwisada Cadre program, which involves young health cadres trained to assist with promotive and preventive activities within the school environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in prosocial behavior, resilience, and mental well-being between UKS Tiwisada cadres and non-Tiwisada cadres at SDN Panggungrejo 04 Kepanjen. This study used an ex post facto approach, which is methodologically similar to experimental research that tests hypotheses. However, in ex post facto research, the researcher does not administer any specific treatment or manipulation, as the event occurred prior to the study. The population in this study were all students at SDN Panggungrejo 04 Kepanjen, Malang Regency, who have the Tiwisada Cadre extracurricular program. The sample size was 104 students, with each group consisting of 52 Tiwisada Cadres and 52 non-Tiwisada Cadres. The results showed that there were significant differences in prosocial behavior, resilience, and mental well-being between Tiwisada UKS cadres and non-cadres. Tiwisada cadres tended to have different results in terms of prosocial behavior, resilience, and mental well-being that were higher than non-cadres. The conclusion of this study is that there are significant differences in prosocial behavior, resilience, and mental well-being between Tiwisada UKS cadres and non-cadres. Cadres showed higher levels of prosocial behavior, resilience, and mental well-being than non-cadres.

Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of volleyball extracurricular activities on prosocial behavior, resilience, and physical fitness among vocational high school students. A quantitative quasi-experimental design was applied with a sample of 100 students from SMK PGRI Kasembon, divided equally into an experimental group (volleyball extracurricular participants) and a control group (non-participants). Data were collected through questionnaires assessing prosocial behavior and resilience, as well as the bleep test for physical fitness (VO₂max). Statistical analysis indicated three key findings: first, no significant differences were observed in prosocial behavior between the two groups; second, resilience was significantly higher in the experimental group compared to the control group; and third, students involved in volleyball extracurricular activities demonstrated significantly better physical fitness levels. These results suggest that while volleyball extracurricular activities may not directly enhance prosocial behavior, they play an essential role in strengthening resilience and improving physical health. The findings highlight the importance of integrating sports-based extracurricular programs into school curricula to support students’ psychological development and physical well-being.

Abstract

The rapid growth of social commerce platforms has transformed online trading practices and introduced new challenges for consumer protection law. TikTok Marketplace, as an integration of social media content and digital commerce, exemplifies this shift by blurring the boundaries between entertainment, advertising, and contractual transactions. This study aims to analyze the extent to which existing legal frameworks provide effective protection for consumers engaging in trading transactions through TikTok Marketplace. Using a qualitative research design with a case study approach, the study relies on secondary data derived from statutory regulations, platform policy documents, official reports, and scholarly literature. The analysis applies a descriptive-deductive method to assess consumer rights, the allocation of legal responsibilities among platforms, sellers, and content creators, and the effectiveness of dispute resolution mechanisms. The findings indicate that while current consumer protection and electronic transaction laws establish basic normative safeguards, they are not fully responsive to the distinctive characteristics of social commerce. Gaps persist in responsibility allocation, transparency of promotional content, and enforcement mechanisms, particularly in platform-based dispute resolution. This study contributes to the literature on consumer protection and digital platform governance by offering a focused legal analysis of social commerce and highlighting the need for more adaptive and explicit regulatory approaches to protect consumers in evolving digital marketplaces.

Abstract

Background: Poundfit is a rhythmic, music-driven aerobic exercise that integrates cardiovascular movement and strength-based activities. Despite its growing popularity, evidence regarding its effects on cardiometabolic parameters in healthy adults remains limited. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a short-term Poundfit exercise program on blood pressure and blood glucose levels in healthy adult women. Methods: A quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted among 22 women aged 19–50 years. Participants attended Poundfit exercise sessions twice weekly for two weeks, with each session lasting 60 minutes. Blood pressure and blood glucose levels were measured before and after the intervention. Pretest–posttest comparisons were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: Following the two-week intervention, systolic and diastolic blood pressure showed slight reductions, while blood glucose levels showed a slight increase; however, none of these changes were statistically significant (p = 0.122 for systolic blood pressure, p = 0.933 for diastolic blood pressure, and p = 0.220 for blood glucose). Conclusion: A two-week Poundfit exercise program did not result in statistically significant changes in blood pressure or blood glucose levels in healthy adult women. These findings suggest that short-term Poundfit training may be insufficient to produce measurable cardiometabolic improvements in normotensive individuals, highlighting the need for longer or more intensive exercise interventions in future studies.
