Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of zakat, infaq, and shadaqa in achieving economic independence as a form of wealth transfer through the empowerment of mustahik. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings show that zakat, infak, and sedekah are wealth distribution instruments in Islam that aim to achieve economic and social balance. These three instruments not only function to reduce economic disparities but also serve as a means to distribute wealth to those in need. Zakat, infaq, and shadaqa help mustahik meet their basic needs while also promoting the creation of economic independence, which is crucial for achieving well-being (falah) according to Islamic perspectives. Economic independence, as referred to in this context, includes the fulfillment of worldly needs and spiritual well-being to attain happiness in the hereafter. This study also emphasizes the importance of economic empowerment of mustahik in breaking the cycle of persistent poverty. By providing skills and capital, mustahik can become self-reliant and improve their quality of life, avoiding dependence that undermines dignity. This approach aligns with Islamic teachings that emphasize the importance of independence and personal dignity, as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Abstract

This study aims to identify the challenges and opportunities in efforts to enhance waqf literacy among Generation Z, as well as to formulate effective and relevant strategies for improving waqf literacy within this demographic. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings reveal that although waqf literacy among Generation Z is still low, there are significant opportunities through the potential of Generation Z as drivers of waqf, their interest in social issues, openness to innovation and new technologies, support from educational institutions and communities, and their ability to collaborate and network. However, there are substantial challenges, including the low level of understanding of waqf among Generation Z, information gaps on digital platforms, the perception that waqf is only for the wealthy, a lack of application models that align with Generation Z’s lifestyle, and limited access and participation in waqf programs. Therefore, the strategies formulated must address these challenges while leveraging existing opportunities through educational campaigns on digital and social media, changing perceptions about waqf, using digital platforms to facilitate waqf participation, and collaborating with influencers and public figures. The implications of this research suggest that the right approach in conveying information and education about waqf can increase Generation Z’s participation in waqf activities, ultimately supporting the sustainability of waqf as a social financial instrument in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats as well as strategies for the role of the digital economy in the halal industry and Sharia economy development in Indonesia. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using literature study and SWOT analysis. The results of the study show that the ultimate strength of Indonesia's digital economy lies in the high growth in the number of Muslims and the growth in digital transactions. However, Indonesia's digital economy is still constrained by the lack of digital economy ability to respond to demand and the market as the main weakness. Meanwhile, the main opportunity lies in good government support. The threat that must be faced is the absence of regulations related to consumer protection in the digital sector. Among the strategic program that can be carried out is increasing digital sharia economic literacy and investment in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aims of: knowing the meaning of globalization; (2) knowing and analyzing the negative impact of globalization on the identity of the nations; and (3) knowing and analyzing solutions to confront the impact of globalization towards muslim identity. This research used qualitative descriptive approach with library research method. The sources of this research data are books related to the history and development of globalization. The results show that: (1) globalization means bringing the world closer together through great advances in communication, transportation, satellites and the internet, openness of information flows, accompanied by one-pole power (in this case America with its influence of Zionism) that seeks to unite all economic, political forces (including the military) and thought to fulfill its interests; (2) the negative impact of globalization on the nations of the world, especially in the Islamic world, is that globalization has a high potential in reshaping the basic understandings of Muslims about nature, people and life, to be replaced by the understanding that has been commonly believed in the West; and (3) Islam and muslims can actually use globalization as an effective way to strengthen their identity. The use of globalization in order to affirm the identity of Islam and muslims is of course based on the objective view that this phenomenon does not fully contain negative values and holds a very powerful force, depending on "who and how" it is utilized. The beautiful collaboration between scholars, thinkers, scientists, experts, culturalists, and muslim perpetrators of globalization in formulating elements of globalization appropriately is an expectation for the strengthening of muslim identity in the midst of the current globalization.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the concept of accountability in financial transaction from an Islamic perspective. The study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach. The findings indicate that accountability in financial transactions according to Islamic perspectives encompasses a broader dimension than merely fulfilling social and legal responsibilities as practiced in the modern economic system. The main principles underlying accountability in Islam include honesty, trustworthiness, justice, and transparency, all of which are outlined and emphasized in the Qur'an and Hadith. In the context of modern finance, these principles can be implemented in various ways, including avoiding usury (riba), using fair contracts, paying zakat and charity, and utilizing Sharia-compliant financial institutions and audits. By applying Islamic accountability principles, financial transactions can be conducted more fairly, transparently, and responsibly. This supports the creation of sustainable economic and social welfare, ensuring that every financial transaction not only meets worldly legal standards but also possesses a strong spiritual and moral dimension.

Abstract

This study aims to explore Islamic principles that emphasize the strategic management of individual potential, as exemplified in the lives of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions. Additionally, the study seeks to develop an effective talent management strategy that aligns with each individual's unique abilities and potential, ensuring that da'wah activities become more effective, efficient, and sustainable. A descriptive qualitative approach is employed to examine and analyze the integration of Islamic principles with modern management strategies in the context of talent management within da'wah organizations. Furthermore, this study identifies key strategies for talent management in da'wah, including potential-based recruitment, competency-based placement, continuous training, performance evaluation, the utilization of digital technology, the creation of a conducive work environment, and the enhancement of collaboration within da'wah efforts.

Abstract

This study delves into the profound impacts films can exert on audiences. Through an in-depth exploration of the Gangubai Kathiawadi film, it endeavors to unveil the intricate layers of patriarchal culture prevalent in Indian society. Employing Roland Barthes's Semiotics as a guiding framework, the research meticulously examines the semiotic elements of signs, denotations, connotations, and myths embedded within the movie. To ensure the robustness of the findings, a multifaceted approach to data collection and analysis was adopted. The primary data source, the Gangubai Kathiawadi movie itself, was the cornerstone. Additionally, secondary data sources, including literature reviews and interviews with domain experts, were strategically utilized to triangulate perspectives and enrich the analysis. The meticulous triangulation of data sources ensures the reliability and validity of the findings, thereby enriching our understanding of the intricate interplay between film representations and societal constructs. The methodology employed in this research is anchored in descriptive qualitative techniques, wherein scene-by-scene analysis units are meticulously scrutinized for insights. By employing this methodological rigor, the study endeavors to unravel the patriarchal representations depicted in the film. The research findings illuminate a spectrum of patriarchal constructs within the Gangubai Kathiawadi, including stereotypical gender categorizations, instances of subordination and objectification of women, and systemic injustices faced by prostitutes. The film adeptly portrays the entrenched societal norms that perpetuate the superiority of men and the inferior status accorded to women. Through its compelling portrayal, Gangubai Kathiawadi emerges as a poignant reflection of societal attitudes towards women, particularly within the context of Indian society.
