Abstract

Digital technological developments have significantly influenced the lives of Generation Z students, including their religious practices. This generation has grown up amidst the rapid advancement of the internet, social media, and access to information, which shape their mindset, behavior, and ways of interacting with religious values that indirectly influence the process of religious internalization. The close relationship with social media presents various challenges, such as the phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), pressure to follow trends, and exposure to global values that are not always aligned with Islamic teachings. These conditions potentially affect how students perceive and practice Islamic values in their daily lives. This study aims to analyze the various challenges faced by Generation Z students in maintaining Islamic values in the digital era and to identify efforts that can be made to address these challenges. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method through interviews and literature studies. Data were obtained from interviews with Generation Z students as well as reviews of various scientific sources, such as journals, books, and previous relevant studies. The findings indicate that strengthening digital literacy, increasing religious awareness, and utilizing technology wisely and selectively are important factors in maintaining the Islamic identity of students amidst the rapid development of digital technology.   Digital technological developments have significantly influenced the lives of Generation Z students, including their religious practices. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of campus religious activities, including Islamic Education Tutorial (PAI Tutorial), BBQ (Qur’an Reading Guidance), and BTQ (Qur’an Reading and Writing Program), on Islamic understanding and character development among students of the Educational Administration Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The PAI Tutorial program is implemented through a participatory mentoring system conducted by senior students, involving lectures, thematic discussions, reflective learning, and material documentation. Meanwhile, BBQ and BTQ activities focus on improving students’ ability to read the Qur’an, correcting tajwid, and strengthening Qur’anic literacy. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to explore the implementation process and students’ experiences in internalizing Islamic values. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews with participating students and analyzed descriptively based on cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The findings reveal that these religious activities contribute significantly to enhancing students’ Islamic understanding, improving Qur’an reading skills, and fostering religious character, particularly in ethics, responsibility, discipline, and spiritual awareness. This study is expected to provide evaluation material and recommendations for universities in optimizing religious development programs as part of holistic student character and spiritual development.

Abstract

The determination of marriage guardians is a crucial aspect of marriage implementation because it constitutes one of the legal requirements for a valid marriage contract in Islamic law. In practice at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), the process of determining marriage guardians often encounters various administrative, social, and religious challenges. This study aims to analyze the forms of problems arising in the determination of marriage guardians and to identify solutions that can be applied to address them. This research uses a qualitative approach through literature study and conceptual analysis of regulations and field practices. The findings indicate that common problems include the absence of a biological guardian, unclear guardian status, guardians who do not meet legal requirements, and family conflicts that hinder the determination process. In addition, limited public understanding of marriage guardian regulations is also a significant obstacle. These problems are influenced by cultural factors and ineffective family communication. Solutions include optimizing the role of marriage registrars, increasing public education on marriage law, and implementing proper procedures for appointing a judge guardian. Therefore, stronger cooperation between KUA and the community is needed to ensure that the determination of marriage guardians is carried out effectively, orderly, and in accordance with applicable regulations.

Abstract

This study aims to conceptually analyze the management of the SIPRES Tutorial UPI Platform in supporting the integration of science and tawhid values in Islamic Religious Education learning in higher education. A non-empirical qualitative approach with a library research method was employed using relevant academic references. The findings indicate that the SIPRES Platform supports digital learning management through POAC management functions (planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling), including attendance management, assignments, student activity monitoring, and spiritual development. The platform facilitates the systematic integration of science, technology, and tawhid values. The study concludes that SIPRES functions not only as a digital learning medium but also as a managerial instrument that strengthens Islamic values in higher education.

Abstract

The digital technology revolution has driven a massive transformation in the financial system through the emergence of financial technology (fintech), one of which is the paylater service. Currently, the convenience of paylater actually impacts consumer behavior and sparks legal implications in Islamic economics. The purpose of this study is to analyze the views of university students in Bandung on the use of paylater based on Islamic law and fintech perspectives. The research method is descriptive quantitative, with a questionnaire spread to 53 university students in Bandung. The result indicates that students have a good understanding of the paylater mechanism, including its interest rates and late fees. However, from an Islamic law perspective, the majority of respondents consider that conventional paylater services potentially contain elements of usury (riba) and uncertainty (gharar), meaning they are not fully in accordance with sharia principles. There is a dilemma between adhering to sharia principles and the reality of urgent needs and digital lifestyles. Therefore, increasing sharia financial literacy is crucial so students can make wiser financial decisions in the digital era.

Abstract

The social and psychological development of adolescents in the identity search phase often clashes with the unfiltered flow of global information that dynamically shifts values and social relationship patterns. This makes schools one of the places for character building. In this context, Islamic Education teachers have a strategic position in guiding and directing students to understand their identity and build social patterns in accordance with moral and religious values. This study aims to analyze the strategic function of PAI teachers in educating adolescents on issues of identity and social interaction at SMAN 1 Kadugede. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research sample consisted of 5 teachers islamic education and 60 12th grade students at SMAN 1 Kadugede who were determined using purposive sampling techniques. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis in the form of percentages. The results of the study indicate that Islamic Religious Education at SMAN 1 Kadugede has a positive contribution to character building and students' understanding of moral values. Therefore, strengthening the role of PAI teachers is an important aspect in efforts to build student character at school.

Abstract

General elections (Pemilu) are a crucial instrument in a democracy that adheres to a representative system. The election process must be conducted with transparency and freedom of expression. Elections should be conducted fairly and honestly, with each individual or community's political choices based on rational considerations and their conscience, not on any particular reward. However, the reality in Indonesia still shows the practice of risywah or the phenomenon of "Serangan Fajar," namely the giving of money or goods to voters before election day. This will certainly undermine democratic values and political integrity. This study aims to determine Generation Z's views on risywah practices in elections. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey method through a questionnaire to Generation Z respondents (born between 1997 and 2007). The results showed that the majority of respondents (89%) had experienced risywah practices in their environment. Nevertheless, there is a high ethical awareness, with 95% of respondents expressing both pro and con attitudes towards money politics and agreeing that the practice violates religious norms and the principle of justice. This indicates that the Generation has a critical attitude and a positive tendency toward politics, especially regarding risywah violations, despite being exposed to widespread vote buying.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic da'wah content on social media on Generation Z's understanding of Islam. A descriptive quantitative method was used by distributing questionnaires to 76 respondents aged 18–22 years from several universities. Validity testing showed that all 15 items were valid, while the reliability test produced a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.886, indicating excellent reliability. The findings reveal that Islamic da'wah content on social media positively affects understanding of faith, worship, and morality, and increases motivation to worship and improve daily behavior. However, respondents' ability to verify sources and religious references remains limited. Therefore, religious digital literacy should be strengthened so that Generation Z can use social media critically and gain a proper understanding of Islam.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education presents both opportunities and challenges, particularly in the context of university examinations. This study aims to analyze the frequency of AI usage by students during exams and its impact on academic ethics from the perspective of Islamic law. The research employed a quantitative associative approach using a survey method involving 50 university students who had used AI in examinations. The research instrument consisted of a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring two variables: frequency of AI usage (X) and students’ academic ethics from the perspective of Islamic law (Y). The findings indicate that the mean score for AI usage frequency was 23.34, while the mean score for academic ethics was 33.14. Regression analysis revealed an R Square value of 0.309 with a negative regression coefficient (-0.288), indicating a significant negative relationship between the frequency of AI usage and students’ academic ethics. The higher the frequency of AI usage in examinations, the lower the level of academic ethics from an Islamic legal perspective. From the standpoint of Islamic law, the unauthorized use of AI during examinations may fall under the category of tadl?s (deception) and academic dishonesty, which contradicts the principles of Sidq (honesty), amanah (trustworthiness), and the objectives of Islamic law. Although students demonstrate a relatively high awareness of academic ethics, increasing dependency on AI poses a risk of diminishing academic integrity. Therefore, a clear sharia-based framework is necessary to ensure that AI technology is utilized within ethical and Islamic boundaries while maintaining academic integrity.
