Abstract

Religious texts written in Arabic are created as a symbol that is not independent from the influence of cultural and social societies. Arab society, which adheres to the patriarchi system in their life, greatly affects every arrangement of their lives as well as Arabic language. It finally creates gender bias in the Arabic language. The gender bias has explicit symbol / word / sign in Arabic which is called function. Meanwhile, Islam itself contains the source of the Qur’an and hadith which are written in Arabic that strongly supports the dignity of women and men in equal rights and position. To answer the problem above, researchers used qualitative and descriptive research methods to express the form of words and language in context. Meanwhile, data analysis is analyzed by using the theory of disassociation Jacques Derrida to find discrepancies in the content of the text through three stages . The first stage, the verbal stage is a critical reading by finding paradoxes and contradictions in the text. The second stage, the textual stage, attempts to find a deeper meaning in the whole text. The third stage, the linguistic stage, is the stage in which the reader requests the appropriateness of the text, its error and its excessive language. The results of this research is expected to finding gender bias in Arabic language and the factors which cause the problems of gender bias in Arabic and our perspecitve of religous texts written in Arabic. Thus, this research is significant as it contributes in Arabic language.

Abstract

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic forced many universities to apply online learning. The purpose of this study was to break down the online learning process in the early pandemic as well as effective and optimal online learning. The design of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Interestingly, this study found online learning using the WhatsApp Group to be the most effective in the early COVID-19 pandemic. WhatsApp is easy, simple, and does not require a large data quota package. Through WhatsApp accounts, learning took place optimally because students and lecturers could communicate and share PowerPoint files, Microsoft Word files, JPGs, Voice Notes, Videos, and other learning resource links. The study recommends that other researchers uncover the solution to obstacles experienced by students in online learning and the development of other media to implement effective online lectures.

Abstract

Arabic rhetoric comprises rhetoric, semantics, and embellishment, with Badī‘ holding a key position. One notable technique is Tasdir (repetition of the end at the beginning), found in both prose and poetry. In prose, it places a repeated or related word at the beginning and end of a paragraph, while in poetry, the repetition occurs within or between hemistichs. This study examines Tasdir in Tamim Al-Barghouthi’s Al-Burda, a rare and modern addition to Arabic literary history. Using a descriptive method with coding and statistical analysis, the research identified 23 instances of Tasdir: 16 cases of exact repetition and 7 of derived repetition, appearing in various structural positions. The study concludes that Tasdir in Al-Burda serves three main functions: reinforcing meaning, enhancing musical rhythm, and creating contrast. These elements contribute to the poem’s eloquence and artistic beauty, making Tasdir a vital rhetorical device in its construction. This study aims to analyze the use of the tasdīr technique in Tamim al-Barghuthi’s poem Al-Burda—examining its frequency and patterns—and to evaluate its aesthetic contributions in strengthening meaning, creating rhythmic balance, and conveying paradoxes, employing a descriptive approach, systematic coding, and statistical analysis.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal Arabic words formed from the imitation of natural sounds (onomatopoeia) in a collection of children's songs on Youtube “Marah KG”. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with semantic approach of Bredin's onomatopoeia theory (1996). There are two kinds of data sources used, namely primary and secondary. Primary data are song lyrics in the collection of children's songs on Youtube “Marah KG”, especially the playlist Jami' Aghaniy Qonat Marah KG-Maktabah Al-Aghaniy Al-Kamilah. The secondary data comes from books, journal articles, and other literatures relevant to the study of onomatopoeia. Data collection techniques used four techniques, namely listening, reading, note-taking, and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used is Miles & Huberman's, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of this study, there are 7 Arabic words formed from the imitation of natural sounds (onomatopoeia) consisting of two types of onomatopoeia, namely direct onomatopoeia and associative onomatopoeia. Meanwhile, the meanings contained consist of 3 meanings, namely referential meaning, contextual meaning, and associative meaning.
