Abstract

Entrepreneurial interest refers to an individual’s desire to engage in business activities, driven by feelings of enjoyment and perceived personal benefit. Self-confidence represents a person’s belief and positive attitude toward their own abilities, the environment, or anticipated situations. Family support is the assistance provided by family members to help address challenges more effectively. Motivation is a condition that triggers behavior and is closely related to the work environment. Meanwhile, entrepreneurship education serves as a learning platform to enhance knowledge, competence, and the intention to develop one’s entrepreneurial potential. This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effects of self-confidence, family support, and motivation on entrepreneurial interest, with entrepreneurship education acting as a mediating variable. The research employed a quantitative descriptive-explanatory approach and involved 121 respondents selected through proportional random sampling. The findings reveal that self-confidence, family support, and motivation significantly influence entrepreneurial interest both directly and indirectly through entrepreneurship education. These results offer valuable insights for educators to better guide students in developing entrepreneurial skills. Students are encouraged not only to focus on product creation but also to deepen their skills in business management, marketing, and decision-making to support business growth. Future researchers are recommended to further expand this study by exploring additional variables and methodological improvements.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has begun reshaping news broadcasting through AI-based news anchors that can deliver information efficiently and consistently, yet public acceptance, emotional connection, and accountability for potential errors remain open concerns. This study aimed to analyze users’ continuance intention to use AI news anchors for daily information needs through an Expectation Confirmation Theory, focusing on trust/acceptance, news-delivery quality, and perceived innovation. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted among students aged 18–24 as digitally active users; data were collected via an online Likert-scale questionnaire (15 items across three aspects) and analyzed descriptively to summarize response patterns. The results indicate generally moderate-to-positive evaluations across all aspects: trust and acceptance showed an overall mean of 2.65, news-delivery quality 2.62, and innovation/technology 2.45. At the item level, respondents reported moderate comfort with AI-delivered news (M = 2.51) and moderate belief in accuracy/reliability (M = 2.54); delivery clarity was rated similarly (M = 2.54), while visual appeal showed a relatively stronger influence on viewing interest (M = 2.73). Respondents also expressed interest in AI-related technological advances (M = 2.52) and generally viewed AI news delivery as a positive media direction, while still noting that improvements are needed before AI can fully replace human presenters. These findings imply that media organizations and developers should prioritize more natural and emotionally engaging delivery, strengthen audio-visual realism, and address ethical/regulatory safeguards, concluding that AI news anchors are broadly acceptable to younger audiences but should be positioned as a complement to human presenters rather than a complete substitute.

Abstract

Informal SMEs are pivotal to inclusive growth, yet capability and infrastructure constraints often limit the effective use of artificial intelligence (AI). This study examines how organizational and technological conditions shape inclusive competitiveness through AI use in Indonesian informal SMEs by extending the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with Technology–Organization–Environment (TOE) factors and IS-success attributes. Using a cross-sectional survey of 559 SME owners/managers and partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), we test pathways from organizational competence and readiness, system quality, and service quality to perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU), and ultimately to AI usage. Results show that PU and PEOU strongly predict AI usage, and PEOU also reinforces PU. Organizational readiness and system quality significantly enhance both PU and PEOU, while organizational competence primarily strengthens PU rather than PEOU. Service quality improves PEOU but does not significantly affect PU. Mediation tests confirm that PU and PEOU transmit key organizational and technological effects to AI usage. The findings suggest that policies and managerial interventions targeting readiness-building (skills, resources, governance) and robust system design are essential to translate AI adoption into sustained utilization and more inclusive business competitiveness in the informal economy.

Abstract

This study addresses the persistent problem of low tax compliance among informal Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which undermines fiscal stability and hampers economic development. The primary purpose of the research is to examine the direct effects of tax knowledge and the quality of tax service on tax compliance, as well as to assess whether social norms moderate these relationships among informal MSMEs. Employing a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design, data was collected from owners and managers of informal MSMEs using structured questionnaires. The analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the hypothesized relationships and moderation effects. The results indicate that both tax knowledge and the quality of tax service have significant positive effects on tax compliance behavior among informal MSMEs. However, the moderating role of social norms was not supported, as social norms did not significantly influence the relationships between tax knowledge, service quality, and compliance. These findings imply that policy interventions to enhance tax compliance in the informal sector should prioritize educational initiatives and improvements in service quality, rather than relying primarily on social or communal influences. Despite offering important insights, this study is limited by its cross-sectional design, geographically constrained sample, and reliance on self-reported data, which may affect the generalizability and causality of the findings. Future research should consider broader samples, longitudinal approaches, and the inclusion of additional contextual or psychological factors to deepen the understanding of tax compliance behavior among informal MSMEs.
