Abstract

This study investigates whether the SERVQUAL dimensions tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy—explain customer satisfaction in an independent full-service hotel and identifies the most influential levers. A cross-sectional survey of 100 staying guests recruited via accidental (intercept) sampling was administered using validated Likert-scale items. Construct validity and reliability were established prior to hypothesis testing. Multiple regression with standardized coefficients was employed to estimate the partial effects of each dimension and to assess their relative importance. Results indicate that all dimensions exhibit positive associations with satisfaction; empathy emerges as the strongest predictor, followed by assurance, reliability, and responsiveness, while tangibles show the weakest effect. These findings highlight the primacy of human-contact factors—attentiveness, credibility, and individualized care in shaping satisfaction within hospitality settings, while signaling improvement opportunities in physical cues and facilities. Managerially, the hotel should sustain strengths in empathy and assurance (e.g., staff sensitivity, clear guarantees, consistent fulfillment of promises) and systematically uplift tangibles through visible quality cues, facility upkeep, and amenity standards. The study contributes firm-level evidence to the hospitality literature by clarifying the relative weights of SERVQUAL dimensions for satisfaction and by underscoring that people-centric capabilities remain decisive even when tangible attributes lag.

Abstract

Strengthening the economic potential of rural areas is one of the government's village empowerment programs. However, it is known that there are still problems related to the low competitiveness of rural areas, both in terms of human resources and the ability to produce commodities with added value. The Sokkolia Village Government, young people, and community leaders play a crucial role in boosting the resilience of rural communities. The tripartite cooperation model of Bumdes, Industry, and Campus is expected to address these two problems. The Campus can help in conducting research on potential and formulating innovative designs, while Industry can assist in terms of technology and market access. This training aims to help equip the Sokkolia Village community with entrepreneurial literacy and digital literacy to optimize the potential of the village and local economic growth. Empowering the community through entrepreneurship and digital literacy is expected to create an ecosystem that supports local economic growth and contributes positively to sustainable development at the village level. The training that has been conducted shows high levels of participation and motivation among partners. Based on the results of the training, partners' understanding of entrepreneurship and digital literacy has increased. This is expected to make Sokkolia Village partners adaptable and able to utilize digital technology to improve their overall well-being.

Abstract

Community-based cultural destinations often possess strong authenticity but struggle to translate it into consistent digital communication and measurable local economic gains. This study assesses the current marketing approach of Pasar Bahulak and formulates more effective, sustainability-aligned promotional recommendations. Using a descriptive qualitative design, evidence from observation and documentation was organized thematically and integrated into a SWOT framework, operationalized via IFAS (internal factors) and EFAS (external factors) to derive SO/WO/ST/WT alternatives and a SMART implementation plan. The analysis produced an IFAS score of 3.33 and an EFAS score of 3.30, positioning the destination in Quadrant I and indicating an aggressive-growth (SO) orientation. Accordingly, the recommended strategy prioritizes leveraging distinctive cultural experience attributes, active social media presence, and community support to capture rising demand for local-experience tourism through more systematic digital campaigning, creator collaborations, and improved informational clarity for trip planning, while mitigating competitive and platform-volatility risks. To operationalize execution, a SMART objective is proposed that focuses on conversion quality rather than volume by increasing average on-site spending per visit from an early baseline of approximately IDR 19,091 to IDR 22,000–25,000 within a short evaluation window, monitored at each market day. These findings imply that combining IFAS–EFAS quadrant diagnosis with SMART targets can help cultural destinations move from visibility to measurable community economic impact while keeping promotional efforts aligned with alternative-tourism sustainability principles.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of humanistic employee management on service quality through job satisfaction in the Rooms Division of four-star hotels in Greater Bandung. In the hospitality industry, service quality depends not only on operational efficiency but also on how employees are managed and supported. Using a quantitative approach, survey data were collected from Rooms Division employees and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The results show that humanistic employee management has a significant positive effect on both job satisfaction and service quality. Job satisfaction also significantly influences service quality and partially mediates the relationship between humanistic employee management and service quality. These findings indicate that employee-centered management practices contribute to better employee attitudes and more consistent service performance. The study highlights the importance of humanistic management in high-contact hotel operations, particularly in Front Office and Housekeeping, where employee well-being and service delivery are closely interconnected.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in realizing the vision of “Golden Indonesia 2045,” with university students expected to act as agents of change through strong entrepreneurial intentions. This study aims to examine the effect of self-efficacy and subjective norms on entrepreneurial intention, with an entrepreneurial attitude serving as a mediating variable. The study employed a quantitative approach using path analysis. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 105 undergraduate students and analyzed statistically. The results reveal that self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial intention, both directly and indirectly through an entrepreneurial attitude. Although subjective norms do not directly influence entrepreneurial intention significantly, they have a positive and significant indirect effect mediated by entrepreneurial attitude. Furthermore, entrepreneurial attitude itself significantly influences entrepreneurial intention. These findings highlight the importance of developing both personal efficacy and supportive social environments to foster positive entrepreneurial attitudes, which in turn enhance entrepreneurial intention among university students. The study provides valuable insights for educational institutions and policymakers to design effective entrepreneurship education and support systems.

Abstract

In today’s complex global environment, entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in driving economic growth and creating job opportunities. Recent trends show that young generation, particularly university students, hold significant potential to become future entrepreneurs. However, in Indonesia, the level of entrepreneurial interest among students remains relatively low compared to that in developed countries. This highlights the urgency to develop a supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem, especially within higher education. This study aims to investigate the direct and indirect effects of entrepreneurship education, innovation, and subjective norms on entrepreneurial interest, with self-confidence as a mediating variable. A quantitative explanatory approach was used, involving 103 students selected through proportional random sampling from a public university. Data was collected via an online structured questionnaire and analyzed using path analysis techniques. The results indicate that entrepreneurship education, innovation, and subjective norms significantly influence entrepreneurial interest both directly and indirectly through self-confidence. Self-confidence also demonstrates a significant mediating role, enhancing the pathway from psychological and contextual factors to entrepreneurial interest. These findings provide actionable insights for educators and policymakers to design more comprehensive entrepreneurship programs that foster innovation and psychological readiness. Encouraging self-confidence among students could be a key strategy to bridge the gap between entrepreneurial potential and interest in higher education.

Abstract

This study examines the determinants of regional economic performance with a particular focus on the roles of democracy and investment as key drivers of economic development in South Sulawesi. Using panel data from 24 districts and municipalities over the 2021–2023 period, this research analyzes how variations in political governance, investment flows, and structural economic characteristics shape regional growth outcomes. The study employs a panel regression approach comparing Pooled OLS, Fixed Effects, and Random Effects models to obtain consistent estimations and identify the most appropriate specification for explaining regional economic dynamics. The analysis highlights the conceptual significance of democracy as an institutional foundation that influences policy effectiveness, government accountability, and stability, all of which contribute to a conducive environment for economic activity. Investment is also positioned as a critical economic instrument that supports productivity, technological diffusion, and industrial upgrading. The findings indicate that the relationship between democracy, investment, and regional economic performance is not uniform across regions, reflecting differences in institutional capacity, labor quality, and industrial structure. Furthermore, the results emphasize that democratic governance and investment inflows operate as complementary forces: improvements in democratic quality can strengthen investor confidence, while investment outcomes can reinforce governance legitimacy by generating economic benefits. This study provides theoretical and empirical insights into how these variables interact in shaping regional development trajectories. The implications of this research underscore the need for region-specific strategies that integrate institutional strengthening, targeted investment policies, and human capital development to achieve sustainable and equitable economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to design and evaluate an AI-integrated Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application to support marketing decision-making at Nichoa Chocolate SMEs. Initial problems include inconsistent customer data recording, transactions that are not yet connected to analytics, limited data dashboards, and the absence of customer segmentation, resulting in marketing strategies that tend to be unsuitable for business needs. The system was developed using a Research and Development approach based on the ADDIE model. The built system integrates transaction data with RFM analysis to generate measurable customer mapping and more targeted marketing strategy recommendations. The analysis results showed that the recency value was dominated by new and nearly lost customer segments, so the recommended strategy emphasised a retention-first approach through the reactivation of passive customers, regular communication, and personalised offers, accompanied by efforts to convert new customers to make repeat purchases. The system evaluation showed that all functional test scenarios were successful, usability was rated as good through demonstrations and interviews, and the application performance was very high. These findings confirm that AI-integrated RFM-based CRM is suitable for strengthening SME marketing in a more targeted and measurable manner.
