Data analysis techniques used simple and multiple regression at a significance level of α = 0.05. The findings of this research indicate: (1) The influence of emotional intelligence (X1) on the performance of teachers at State Junior High School 35 Percut Sei Tuan (Y) is 94.2% with the equation Ῠ = 6.998 + 0.911 X1; (2) The influence of stress management (X2) on the performance of teachers at State Junior High School 35 Percut Sei Tuan (Y) is 98.2% with the regression equation Ῠ = 0.283 + 1.043 X2; and (3) The combined influence of emotional intelligence (X1) and stress management (X2) on the performance of teachers at State Junior High School 35 Percut Sei Tuan (Y) is 98.3% with the regression equation Ῠ = 1.223 + 0.148 X1 + 1.206 X2. This regression line equation explains that if emotional intelligence and stress management factors increase by one unit, teacher performance will also increase by 2.557 units.

Abstract

This study analyzes the leadership style of the Head of Madrasah Tsanawiyah at the Modern Islamic Boarding School Darul Hikmah Medan using a qualitative research approach. The findings indicate that the leadership style prioritizes teacher participation in decision-making processes; however, challenges remain regarding consistency and inclusivity. Efforts to enhance teacher motivation are evident through the provision of physical facilities and incentives, although responsiveness to achievements and feedback requires improvement. Communication is facilitated through regular meetings, yet there is a need for improved assertiveness and conflict management. Overall, continuous efforts to refine managerial processes, communication, and decision-making reflect a commitment to advancing the quality of education in this madrasah.

This research examines the role of boarding school leaders in character development at the Tahfiz Quran Azhar Center Islamic Boarding School in Labuhanbatu Utara. Using a qualitative approach, the study highlights how leadership plays a critical role in shaping students' character within a comprehensive educational environment. The leaders go beyond delivering formal Islamic teachings, emphasizing values such as tolerance, cooperation, and responsibility. These values are nurtured through various methods, including lectures, role modeling, habituation, counseling, and discipline. Key internal factors, such as student motivation, and external factors, like caregiver support and quality facilities, further enhance the character-building process. Despite challenges, including student boredom and distance learning difficulties, the boarding school’s holistic approach has succeeded in fostering intellectually capable individuals who embody Islamic moral values.
