Abstract

Bullying is a high-intensity behavior perpetrated by one person against another with the aim of hurting or humiliating the victim. This action aims to make the victim feel helpless and suffer. This study aims to explore the strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in instilling ethical and moral values to prevent and handle cases of verbal bullying at Muhammadiyah Al-Qolam Junior High School. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, the most common form of verbal bullying is ridicule or demeaning nicknames, which can cause emotional disturbance to the victim and affect the overall atmosphere of the school. The strategies implemented include religious habituation programs, counseling services, counseling related to bullying, giving advice, and periodic evaluation and supervision. Islamic education is used as the main approach to build good morals, instilling the values of empathy, tolerance and respect for others. However, the obstacles faced include the tendency of students to repeat bullying behavior even though they have been given guidance. Therefore, cooperation between teachers, students, parents and the community is needed to create a positive, conducive, bullying-free school environment that supports good character development.

Abstract

This research explores the impact of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) on social interactions and academic performance among students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gatak Program Khusus. The rapid growth of social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp has led to increased anxiety among students who fear missing out on social trends and activities, which in turn affects their social behavior and academic engagement. This qualitative study, using interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, reveals that FOMO significantly disrupts face-to-face interactions and decreases focus on academic tasks. However, FOMO also has a positive aspect when students apply it to competitive extracurricular activities. The study emphasizes the need for schools to implement educational programs that promote healthy social media use, improve offline social interactions, and create policies to help students balance online engagement with academic focus. The findings underline the importance of managing FOMO for both social well-being and academic success.

Abstract

The aging population in Indonesia has triggered an urgent need for community-based elderly services that focus not only on physical health but also on psychological well-being. This study aims to explore the program strategies of the Elderly School of ‘Aisyiyah (ESA) Surakarta in meeting the socioemotional needs of the elderly and to analyze implementation challenges through the lens of Socioemotional Selectivity Theory (SST). This research employed a qualitative method with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with program managers and intensive observation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results indicate that ESA applies a flexible curriculum strategy integrated into four main pillars: Religion, Psychology, Health, and Arts and Sports. This strategy effectively facilitates the transition of elderly motivation from knowledge-related goals to emotion-related goals. This success is empirically validated through the phenomenon of color psychology, where a shift in participants' artwork preferences occurred from the spectrum of excitement (red-yellow) to the spectrum of tranquility (green-blue). However, program implementation faces internal challenges such as physical degradation, situational depression, and post-power syndrome resistance. This study concludes that a personalized approach adaptive to the elderly's perceived remaining time is the key to achieving inner peace and husnul khotimah.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Food neophobia is a behavioral tendency that influences children’s acceptance of foods, particularly in the context of school-based meal programs. In the Free Nutritious Meal Program, this condition may reduce the effectiveness of nutritional provision if it is not properly managed. This study aims to examine the dynamics of food neophobia and eating behaviors among elementary school students during the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program at SDIT Insan Kamil Karanganyar. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving students, teachers, and school staff as informants. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis and were analyzed through data reduction, thematic grouping, and triangulation of sources and methods. The results indicate that food neophobia manifested in the form of refusal of certain menu items, selective eating behaviors, and preferences for familiar foods. These behaviors were shaped by previous dietary habits, individual experiences, and the school social context, including the roles of teachers and peers. The main contribution of this study lies in providing context-specific qualitative evidence on the role of behavioral factors in the implementation of universal school meal programs. The findings emphasize that the success of the Free Nutritious Meal Program depends not only on menu quality but also on students’ behavioral readiness to accept the meals served. Therefore, understanding food neophobia constitutes an essential basis for designing more adaptive and educational school meal programs that foster long-term healthy eating habits among elementary school students.

Abstract

The mental health of students at the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School in Palur is a serious concern due to academic pressure and environmental adaptation challenges that trigger anxiety disorders. The focus of this study is to identify triggers for psychological anxiety and evaluate the management strategies implemented by caregivers. This research uses a qualitative case study approach through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and descriptive documentation analysis. The research findings reveal that students' anxiety stems from the demands of public speaking, exams, and the dynamics of social interactions. Management strategies are implemented through three main pillars: providing consistent moral support, a spiritual approach through routine Tahajud prayers and dhikr, and providing private counseling facilities. The results indicate that although spiritual interventions are very effective in calming the mind, barriers such as mental health stigma and family reluctance to provide internal student data still hinder optimal recovery. The main conclusion emphasizes that managing anxiety in Islamic boarding schools requires a more structured early detection system and open communication patterns between the institution and parents. Strengthening professional mental health facilities is urgently needed to ensure that students are able to develop their potential in a healthy, resilient, and balanced manner amidst the dynamics of rigorous dormitory life in a sustainable manner for their future through the integration of psychological services and complete spiritual recovery for education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of education in supporting adolescents' transition to adulthood, focusing on its impact on psychosocial development, identity formation, and emotional regulation. The approach used is a systematic literature review (SLR) with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines to ensure transparency and accuracy in data synthesis. A literature search was conducted on the Scopus database, which yielded 10 articles that met the inclusion criteria related to formal education and adolescent development. The results showed that education has a significant influence on shaping self-identity, improving emotional regulation, and preparing adolescents for mature decision-making, especially regarding careers and social responsibilities. In addition, education also improves psychological well-being, with interventions that combine social-emotional learning and experiences that enhance adolescents' emotional resilience. These findings also highlight the importance of the role of family and an inclusive educational environment in supporting adolescent development. Based on these findings, it is recommended that education policies place greater emphasis on psychosocial aspects rather than just academics, by creating an educational environment that supports the development of adolescents' identity, autonomy, and emotional well-being. Education that focuses on social-emotional development can accelerate adolescents' transition to healthier and more responsible adulthood.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct teacher competencies through the lens of prophetic pedagogy by examining the Nabawi method of student error correction as articulated in Manhaj an-Nabawi fī Taqwīm al-Akhtā' by Muhammad Yusuf Al-Shatti. It seeks to address the theoretical gap in contemporary Islamic education literature by positioning error correction as a distinct analytical lens for understanding remedial teacher competencies. This research adopts a qualitative library research design employing interpretive text analysis and qualitative content analysis. The primary data source is Al-Shatti's work on Nabawi error correction, supported by contemporary scholarly literature on prophetic pedagogy, teacher competencies, and humane disciplinary approaches. Data were collected through close reading, thematic coding, and conceptual categorization, followed by thematic analysis to reconstruct communicative, psychological, spiritual, and strategic teacher competencies. Data credibility was ensured through source triangulation and thick description. The findings reveal that, within Nabawi pedagogy, student error is constructed as an inherent human phenomenon and a formative educational entry point rather than a disciplinary violation. Error correction is characterized by gradual instruction, empathy, dignity preservation, emotional safety, and moral justice. These principles give rise to integrative remedial teacher competencies that emphasize ethical communication, psychological regulation, restorative engagement, and spiritual orientation. This study offers an original contribution by reconstructing prophetic pedagogy as a coherent competency-based educational framework rather than a set of normative moral exemplars. It provides practical guidance for educators and policy makers seeking humane, dignified, and ethically grounded approaches to student discipline while enriching contemporary educational theory with a moral-spiritual perspective.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the psychological characteristics of the Children of Israel as described in the Qur'an through an analysis of Sayyid Qutb's Fi Zilal al-Qur'an, with a focus on collective behavior patterns and historical factors that shaped their characteristics, such as rebelliousness, materialistic tendencies, racial arrogance, inconsistency in faith, and dependence on worldly power. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach, combining thematic analysis of Qur'anic verses and a psychological-historical approach to understand their psychological dynamics in the context of oppression and liberation. The results of the study show that, according to Sayyid Qutb, the character of the Children of Israel was the result of collective trauma caused by slavery in Egypt, which gave rise to spiritual inferiority, defiance of God's commands, and a materialistic orientation that shifted divine values. racial and intellectual arrogance reflects a deviation in understanding the concept of the “chosen people,” while inconsistency in faith represents spiritual hypocrisy that weakens monotheism. Qutb viewed this pattern as a universal phenomenon that serves as a warning to all of humanity not to get caught up in formal religious practices without spiritual depth. The main value of this research lies in its contribution to enriching thematic interpretation studies through a psychological-historical approach, emphasizing the relationship between human inner conditions and historical experiences in the formation of religious character, and encouraging Muslims to cultivate authentic, humble faith oriented towards the mandate of revelation, rather than outward symbols or claims of group superiority.

Abstract

PAI learning in schools still tends to be uniform and teacher-centered, so it is not fully able to accommodate individual differences of students. In the context of the Independent Curriculum, differentiated learning is a relevant approach because it is in line with the spirit of "independent learning" and Islamic values such as justice ('adl), compassion (rahmah), and responsibility (amanah). The purpose of this study is to examine the concepts, principles, and implementation of differentiated learning in PAI based on theoretical reviews and scientific literature, as well as analyze the relevance of this approach to the development of students' Islamic character and values. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach . Data was obtained from various written sources such as books, scientific articles, academic journals, and the results of previous research that discussed the concept of differentiation in the context of Islamic education. The results of the study show that differentiated learning in PAI can be applied through three main strategies, namely content, process, and product differentiation. This strategy allows teachers to adjust the material, methods, and forms of evaluation according to students' abilities and interests. Islamic principles such as justice, compassion, and responsibility become the theological foundation in its implementation, so that learning not only improves academic results, but also shapes the spiritual and moral character of students. The main obstacles to the implementation of this approach include the limitations of teacher competence, infrastructure, and the learning paradigm that is still teacher-centered. Therefore, continuous training, collaboration between educators, and learning innovations are needed to support optimal implementation. differentiated learning in Islamic Religious Education makes a significant contribution to the creation of an adaptive, humanist, and learning process based on Islamic values. This approach not only increases the effectiveness of learning, but also strengthens the purpose of Islamic education in forming a generation of faithful, knowledgeable, and noble character.
