This study aims to determine the development process, development form, and feasibility of news text teaching materials assisted by the Educaplay platform for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 35 Medan. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) using the Borg & Gall model that has been modified by Sugiyono. The subjects of the needs analysis in this study were 32 grade VII-2 students. The form of the product developed is a news text teaching material based on Game Based Learning (GBL) using the Educaplay platform with a video feature of teaching materials that is directly integrated with interactive quizzes in it. The news text material is packaged visually into 11 slides using attractive class animations, background music, and includes a comprehensive discussion starting from the definition, purpose, characteristics, types, structure, linguistic rules, ADIKSIMBA elements (5W + 1H), to examples of fictional/actual news text analysis. The feasibility of the product was tested through validation by material expert validators and media experts. Based on the results of the feasibility assessment from the material validation experts, an average percentage of 92% was obtained with the criteria of "Very Feasible". Meanwhile, the feasibility assessment from the media validation expert obtained an average percentage of 89%, with the criteria "Very Feasible." Thus, the development of news text teaching materials, supported by Educaplay, is deemed highly suitable for use as a primary or supplementary tool in Indonesian language learning for seventh-grade junior high school students.
