Abstract

Multicultural education fosters inclusivity, social cohesion, and mutual respect in diverse societies. Indonesia’s Merdeka Curriculum provides a flexible, student-centered framework, making it a strategic platform for integrating multicultural education. This study examines the implementation, challenges, and institutional support for multicultural education within the Merdeka Curriculum, focusing on how schools manage diversity in teaching and learning. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis in selected junior high schools using a qualitative case study approach. Findings reveal inconsistent implementation due to teacher preparedness gaps, resource limitations, and resistance to change. While some schools integrate multicultural content effectively through inclusive teaching practices and extracurricular programs, others struggle due to inadequate teacher training and a lack of culturally diverse materials. Institutional support is critical, as schools with structured policies and administrative backing demonstrate more effective multicultural education practices. This study underscores the need for targeted teacher training, the development of multicultural learning resources, and stronger institutional policies. Addressing these challenges will enhance cultural inclusivity, student engagement, and cross-cultural understanding in Indonesian education. Future research should explore long-term impacts and best practices for sustaining multicultural education within the evolving Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Religious moderation has become a critical issue in contemporary education, particularly in multicultural societies like Indonesia. This study explores the leadership practices of school principals in promoting religious moderation in elementary schools in Rantepao Sub-district, North Toraja Regency. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation at two schools: SD Kristen Rantepao 5 and SD Negeri 1 Rantepao. The findings reveal that school principals play a pivotal role in fostering inclusive environments that reflect the values of tolerance, harmony, and mutual respect. Strategies include integrating religious moderation into the curriculum, implementing interfaith extracurricular activities, and adopting participatory and adaptive leadership approaches. These efforts have created harmonious school cultures, developing students’ character in appreciating diversity and strengthening relationships between schools and the surrounding community. Despite challenges, such as initial resistance from some teachers and parents, the principals successfully addressed these issues through open dialogue and persuasive approaches. The findings underscore the importance of transformational leadership in creating inclusive educational settings and promoting religious moderation to maintain harmony in diverse societies. This study contributes practical insights for developing education policies grounded in moderation and equality.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of HR development and locus of control on the performance of Civil Servants in the Sibolga Sambas District Government, Sibolga City. This research uses a quantitative approach. This research also uses inferential statistics, namely research that aims to explain the position of the variables studied as well as the relationship and influence between other variables. The instruments in this research were questionnaires, interviews and observations. The total population was 160 people including all state civil servants and honorary employees. used are multiple regression tests, t tests, correlation coefficients, and other tests. The R square value obtained was 0.456. The HR Development variable (X2) influences performance by 45.6%, and the remaining 54.4% is determined by other reasons outside the regression model. The regression line equation is Y = 8.169 + 0.197 X1 + 0.615X3. The t test shows that tcount = 6.439 and ttable= 1.654, meaning tcount > ttable = 6.439 > 1.654, it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) dan Make a Match (MAM) terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas V SD. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperiment dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yang masing-masing diajarkan menggunakan model TPS dan MAM. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket motivasi dan tes hasil belajar yang dianalisis menggunakan uji t-test dan ukuran efek (effect size). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua model pembelajaran memiliki dampak positif terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa, dengan sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori sangat tinggi. Meskipun tidak ditemukan perbedaan signifikan secara statistik antara kedua model, model MAM menunjukkan keunggulan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar, sedangkan TPS lebih unggul dalam mendorong pemahaman mendalam. Berdasarkan temuan ini, disarankan kombinasi kedua model untuk mengoptimalkan pembelajaran IPS

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran keberagaman masyarakat dan peran FKUB dalam memelihara harmonisasi trilogi kerukunan beragama masyarakat Luwu Timur. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif yaitu penelitian yang mengarahkan penelitiannya pada gejala-gejala yang terjadi pada masyarakat yang berbeda agama. Adapun subjek penelitian ini adalah Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama (FKUB).  Pengurus FKUB Kab. Luwu Timur, Tokoh agama dari masing-masing agama yang ada di Kab. Luwu Timur, Kementerian Agama Kab. Luwu Timur dan Masyarakat Biasa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Kabupaten Luwu Timur masyarakatnya sangat majemuk karena terdiri dari berbagai suku, ras, budaya dan agama. Tetapi kemajemukan itu juga masyarakat Luwu Timur sangat toleran. Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama (FKUB) Luwu Timur sangat strategis dalam membina dan memelihara harmonisasi kerukunan hidup bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara, terutama dalam memelihara harmonisasi kerukunan hidup beragama,  antar umat beragama, dan antar hidup beragama dengan Pemerintah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model assisted by Powtoon animated video media on students’ interest and learning outcomes in Social Studies at the elementary school level. A quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group format was employed. The sample consisted of two classes: an experimental group that received instruction using the Discovery Learning model supported by Powtoon animated videos, and a control group that received conventional instruction. Data collection instruments included a learning interest questionnaire and a learning outcomes test, both validated through tests of validity and reliability. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to interpret the data. The results indicated a significant increase in both learning interest and learning outcomes in the experimental group compared to the control group. The integration of the Discovery Learning model with Powtoon animated media proved effective in fostering interactive, motivating, and conceptually enriching learning experiences. These findings suggest that combining a constructivist approach with visual digital media offers an innovative solution for enhancing the quality of Social Studies education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by Islamic Religious Education teachers in differentiation learning to improve students' learning motivation at SMAN 3 Kota Bima. The main problem studied is how the implementation of differentiation learning can affect students' learning motivation and what factors support and inhibit the implementation of the strategy. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that differentiation learning implemented by Islamic Religious Education teachers is able to improve students' learning motivation, especially with an approach that focuses on the needs and learning styles of different students. The main supporting factors include teacher competence, facility support, and parental participation. However, there are also inhibiting factors such as limited teacher understanding and inadequate facilities. This study provides an important picture of how differentiation learning can be optimized to improve students' learning motivation.

Abstract

This research developed the English teaching materials based on moral characters. Therefore, the focus was to improve the English teaching quality by aligning the students' needs and lecturers' expectations (needs analysis) with the values of moral. The 'I-DO' method was developed with three different phases namely; 1) The input stage, the students’ needs were analyzed in which 55 students and 10 lecturers participated. Data collection used a questionnaire and the data were analyzed by description. 2) The development stage the aims and goals were formulated by taking into account the information obtained from needs analysis. 3) The output stage conducted by planning the lesson, and generating the teaching material prototypes in which the values of moral are included.  The article established an English learning teaching materials with well-developed prototype particularly for speaking skill of making transaction. The findings with the use of the 'I-DO' methodology provides useful input for developing the ELT materials in language programs. Therefore, English language teachers should study this methodology in order to use its stages in developing ELT materials for other subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the main challenges faced by principals in managing the curriculum transition in senior high schools and the strategies implemented to overcome these obstacles. The implementation of the Independent Curriculum requires significant adaptation for principals and educators, especially in terms of understanding and implementing changes that include more independent and project-based learning management. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data is collected through in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and school supervisors. Purposive sampling technique was applied to select informants who have direct experience in implementing the Independent Curriculum. Data analysis was carried out thematically with a source triangulation approach to increase the validity of the research results. The findings of this study indicate that the main challenges lie in teacher understanding and infrastructure readiness, while the strategies implemented include intensive training and clear division of roles between educators. Evaluations and recommendations from school supervisors also provide important contributions in assessing the success of curriculum implementation. The contribution of these findings is expected to be a reference for education policies in optimizing curriculum transition in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether or not there is an influence of job satisfaction and career development on employee performance at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Central Tapanuli Regency. The type of research used in this study is a quantitative research method with a descriptive approach. The sample in this study were employees at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Central Tapanuli Regency with a questionnaire distribution of 77 (seventy seven) respondents. The results of the study showed that based on the Determination Coefficient Analysis obtained of 0.606, this means that what happened to the variation of the dependent variable Performance 60.6% was determined by the independent variables Job Satisfaction and Career Development simultaneously and the remaining 30.4% was determined by other factors not discussed in this study such as Division of Labor, Supervision, Leadership, Competence, Motivation, Communication, and so on. From the results of the t-test in the study, it is known that the calculated t value of Job Satisfaction is 4.919> t table 1.99254, with a significance of 0.001 <0.05 and Career Development is 2.761> t table 1.99254 with a significance of 0.007 <0.05, then the hypothesis stating that Job Satisfaction has a Positive and Significant effect on Employee Performance at the Population and Civil Registration Service of Central Tapanuli Regency can be accepted, and Career Development has a Positive and Significant effect on Employee Performance at the Population and Civil Registration Service of Central Tapanuli Regency can be accepted. Meanwhile, from the results of the F test, it is known that the calculated F value is 56,900> F table 3.12 and the significance of the calculated F is 0.001 <0.05 so that the hypothesis stating that Supervision and Division of Work have a Positive and Significant Effect on the Effectiveness of Employee Work at the Population and Civil Registration Service of Central Tapanuli Regency can be accepted. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Ada Tidaknya Pengaruh Kepuasan Kerja Dan Pengembangan Karir Terhadap Kinerja Pegawai pada Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah pegawai yang ada pada Dinas Kependudukan dan Catatan Sipil Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah dengan penyebaran kuesioner berjumlah 77 (Tujuh puluh tujuh) responden. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa berdasarkan Analisis Koefisien Determinasi yang diperoleh sebesar 0,606 hal ini berarti bahwa yang terjadi pada variasi variabel terikat Kinerja 60,6% ditentukan oleh variabel bebas Kepuasan Kerja dan Pengembangan Karir secara serempak dan sisanya sebesar 30,4 % ditentukan oleh faktor lain yang tidak dibahas dalam penelitian ini seperti Pengembangan Karir, Kepuasan Kerja, Kepemimpinan, Kompetensi, Motivasi, Komunikasi, dan lain sebagainya. Dari Hasil uji t pada penelitian diketahui bahwa nilai t hitung Kepuasan Kerja sebesar 4.919 > t tabel 1.99254, dengan signifikan 0,001 < 0,05 dan Pengembangan Karir sebesar 2.761 > t tabel 1.99254 dengan signifikan 0,007 < 0,05, maka hipotesis yang menyatakan Kepuasan Kerja berpengaruh Positif dan Signifikan terhadap Kinerja Pegawai pada Dinas Kependudukan dan Catatan Sipil Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah dapat diterima, dan Pengembangan Karir berpengaruh Positif dan Signifikan terhadap Kinerja Pegawai pada Dinas Kependudukan dan Catatan Sipil Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah dapat diterima. Sedangkan dari hasil uji F diketahui Nilai F hitung 56.900 > F tabel 3.12 dan signifikasi F hitung 0.001 < 0,05 sehingga hipotesis yang menyatakan Kepuasan Kerja dan Pengembangan Karir berpengaruh Positif dan Signifikan terhadap Kinerja Pegawai pada Dinas Kependudukan dan Catatan Sipil Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah dapat diterima.
