Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in elementary schools, especially in science learning content. This study aims to: (1) analyze learning motivation and students' computational thinking skills in science learning; (2) knowing the relationship between learning motivation and computational thinking ability. This research method is a mixed method, namely research methods that communicate or combine quantitative methods and qualitative methods to be used together in a research activity. This research was conducted in Cluster II Koto Salak, which consists of five elementary schools and one Islamic elementary school. The number of students in grade V at SDa is 25 students for class A, and 26 students for class B, SD B has 26 students, SD C has 15 students, SD D has 10 students, and MI A has 21 students. So that the total number of research subjects is 123 students, plus 5 school principals, and 6 class teachers. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires, observation, structured interviews, and documentation. The qualitative data analysis technique in this study is to use interactive data analysis, namely (1) data reduction; (2) Data presentation; (3) Drawing conclusions. Quantitative data analysis is the Pearson correlation test using SPSS. The results showed that the learning motivation and computational thinking abilities of students in cluster II Koto Salak were still low, on average, still below 30%. Pearson correlation test results Sig 0.00 <0.05 so that H1 is accepted, meaning that learning motivation and computational thinking ability have a correlation. The form of the correlation is positive with a value of 0.99 which is at the perfect relationship level.

Abstract

Standards for 21st century learning for educators and students relate to the application of technology learning. One of the ways teachers use to optimize digital learning activities is by creating teaching materials in the form of e-modules. The aim of this research is to develop an electronic module oriented towards the STEAM learning approach. This e-module is used to improve elementary school students' high-level thinking abilities. This research uses the Research and Development research method with the ADDIE development model. The subjects of this research were grade IV elementary school students in Pariaman Tengah, Pariaman City, namely SDN 17 Kampung Baru, SDN 04 Rawang, and SDN 02 Karan Aur. There are three instruments for this research, namely validation instruments in the form of validation sheets, practicality instruments and effectiveness instruments. The results of this research areThe average validation result for the three aspects of media, language and material is 85.65, which is included in the very valid category. The paired sample t-test results were obtainedsignificance value of Sig. 0.000 <0.05so the data shows that there are differences significant difference between before using modules and afterwards, so it is stated that modules can increasing the high-level thinking abilities of high-class students

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of the ICT integrated problem-based learning paradigm on elementary school students' mental models. When learning is done using ICT and PBL models, it will be observed if elementary school pupils' mental models grow or shrink. This study used an experimental, quantitative research design with a nonequivalent control group. 25 pupils participated in this study at SDN 08 Kampung Jawa 1 in Pariaman. The multiple choice questions used in this research tool are tests. The independent sample t-test was used in this study's data analysis. It is required to assess the conditions for data analysis, particularly the normality and homogeneity tests, before the data is studied. Based on the study's findings, a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.001 0.05 was found, leading to the conclusion that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating that the PBL learning model's integration with ICT had a significant impact on elementary school students' mental models.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the practicality of interactive multimedia teaching materials in integrated thematic learning using a STEM approach in elementary schools. This type of research is development research using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). Data collection techniques in practicality tests use practicality questionnaires by educators and students. The data in this practicality instrument uses a practicality formula which is analyzed quantitatively. Based on the results of the practicality test, the interactive multimedia teaching materials with the STEM approach that were developed are included in the very practical category with the percentage of practicality test obtained by teachers with an average score of 97%, very practical and the practicality test obtained by students with an average score of 89%, very practical category. It can be concluded that interactive multimedia teaching materials based on the STEM approach meet the criteria for being very practical

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effect of using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model and variations in learning styles on the critical thinking abilities of class IV students in Cluster V, Palembayan District. Critical thinking ability is a key skill in modern education, encouraging the development of analytical, evaluative and reflective thinking. The research method used in this research is a quasi-experiment with a research design using an experimental design with a 2x2 factorial design technique where there will be a control class and an experimental class. The research sample consisted of two groups of class IV students, one experimental group taught using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model and one control group taught using a conventional approach. In addition, student learning styles were also identified and analyzed in this research. The research results showed that the group of students taught using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model experienced a significant increase in critical thinking skills. This is reinforced by the results of statistical analysis which show that the value of tcount (1.910) is higher than ttable (1.708) at a significance level of 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Problem Learning (PBL) model has a positive effect on increasing students' critical thinking skills. Apart from that, this research also identified that student learning styles influence learning outcomes. Some learning styles may be better suited to a PBL approach, while others are better suited to a conventional approach. Therefore, educators are expected to consider variations in student learning styles in designing effective learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low self-efficacy of students in IPAS learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, and Satisfaction (ARIAS) model on the achievement of self efficacy in grade IV elementary school. The type of research used is Quasi Experimental using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study population was grade IV elementary school students in Gugus VI Koto Tangah District, Padang. The sampling technique used was Simple Random Sampling, obtained class IVA as the experimental class and class IVB as the control class at SD Negeri 28 Padang Sarai. This research instrument is a self efficacy questionnaire and data analysis techniques using prerequisite tests in the form of normality, homogeneity, and independent sample t test tests. Based on the results of the study obtained a significance value of Sig. 0.00 < 0.05, that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which means that the effectiveness of the ARIAS model has a significant effect on the achievement of self efficacy of students in elementary schools. Learning with the ARIAS model makes students active in learning activities.

Abstract

Monotonous and boring learning using books and worksheets alone makes students less interested in learning and reduces students' critical thinking abilities. Teachers need to create open materials that are interesting and able to increase students' enthusiasm for learning and improve students' critical thinking skills. This research aims to develop an E-module based on the Problem Based Learning model with various steps in solving problems and containing video and image content that is interesting for students. The research location is SDN 015 Sungai Banyak City. The research subjects were fourth grade elementary school students. This research is R&D development research using the ADDIE model. There are 2 stages of data analysis technique, namely validation carried out by 3 experts. Media experts, language experts and material experts are drawn from expert lecturers and master's graduate teachers. The second stage is practicality taken from fourth grade elementary school students. The research results showed a validity figure of 92.82% in the very valid category and for practicality it was 97.5% for students and 92% for teachers. The obstacles faced are limited time and the need for introduction in creating e-modules using the articulate storyline 3 application.
