Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku saku berbasis kontekstual pada materi keanekaragaman hayati kelas X SMA. Metode pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode ADDIE yang dibatasi pada tiga tahap, yaitu Analyze (Analisis), Design (Desain), dan Development (Pengembangan). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengembangkan hasil penelitian ke dalam bentuk buku saku tentang jenis-jenis vegetasi bawah di kawasan Taman Rekreasi Alam Mayang Pekanbaru. Validasi buku saku terdiri dari dua validator yang merupakan ahli materi dan ahli media pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini memperoleh rata-rata skor validitas sebesar 3,47 sehingga buku saku ini termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jenis-jenis vegetasi bawah di kawasan Taman Rekreasi Alam Mayang Pekanbaru berpotensi sebagai bahan ajar kontekstual yang inovatif pada materi keanekaragaman hayati kelas X SMA.

This investigation seeks to explore the significance of both verbal and nonverbal communication in minimizing misinterpretations in interpersonal exchanges within the digital age. The impetus for this research stems from the considerable likelihood of misunderstandings in text-based communication, stemming from the lack of immediate emotional cues. This study employs a qualitative methodology through interviews conducted with 10 participants aged between 18 and 20 years. The data collected were examined by means of data reduction, presentation of findings, and formulating conclusions. reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that straightforward, uncomplicated, and direct verbal interactions are essential in reducing confusion. Furthermore, nonverbal aspects like emojis and audio messages assist in expressing feelings and elucidating the purpose of messages. Misinterpretations frequently arise from variances in understanding that stem from the lack of tone and facial cues. As a result, people generally opt for more transparent communication methods, such as phone conversations, to clear up misunderstandings. In summary, spoken and unspoken forms of communication work together to enhance effective online interactions. The skill to handle both elements and grasp the context of communication is crucial for minimizing misinterpretations.

Communication is indeed the heart of human interaction, but in reality, the process of exchanging messages does not always run smoothly. In individual counseling sessions, various obstacles such as mechanical constraints, semantic interference, and even human factors often become unavoidable barriers. This study aims to dig deeper into the factors that actually hinder the effectiveness of interpersonal communication. We also used a literature review method, our primary focus not on numbers or field interview results, but rather on in-depth narrative and descriptive analysis from various existing scientific literature. The results show that communication barriers are dominated by human factors such as gaps in perception and psychological conditions, in addition to mechanical constraints in digital communication media. Through this literature review, it is hoped that new insights will emerge that can help counseling practitioners minimize communication disruptions in the future.

Rapid technological and institutional transformations in the global financial system have generated complex transactional models that were unknown in classical Islamic jurisprudence. This phenomenon challenges Islamic legal methodology to maintain its normative authority while remaining responsive to socio-economic changes. This study examines istihsan as a flexible legal reasoning tool within Islamic legal theory and evaluates its practical relevance in contemporary Islamic finance. Using qualitative library research, this study analyzes classical ushul fiqh literature and contemporary Islamic finance fatwas. The study finds that istihsan functions as a methodological mechanism that enables jurists to depart from strict analogical reasoning (qiyas) toward stronger legal evidence to achieve public welfare (maslahah) and prevent hardship (masyaqqah). In practice, the principles of istihsan underpin the legality of various modern financial innovations, such as parallel salam financing in Islamic banking, digital transactions without verbal offer and acceptance (click-contracts and QR codes) in the fintech sector, self-service systems in modern trade, and collective risk management in Islamic insurance. This study argues that istihsan plays a pivotal role as a methodological bridge connecting classical jurisprudence with the needs of modern financial innovation to ensure the sustainability of the Islamic financial ecosystem.

Maleo is a large megapod found on the island of Sulawesi and surrounding islands and is an endangered species due to illegal hunting and habitat conversion. In this article, we propose a mathematical model for Maleo conservation. The model that is constructed is expressed as a system of ordinary differential equations consisting of five equations. To study the optimal strategy, we use optimal control theory. In our model there are three control parameters related to guarding Maleo nests, monitoring Maleo habitats, and transferring Maleo eggs to captivity. To measure the impact and the consequences of each intervention scheme, we determine the percentage increase in the Maleo population and the average cost-effectiveness ratio. Our results show that the most effective intervention scheme to increase Maleo populations is a combination of guarding Maleo nests, monitoring Maleo habitats, and transferring Maleo eggs to captivity. Meanwhile, the intervention scheme that has the best cost-effectiveness is the intervention scheme which is a combination of guarding Maleo nests and monitoring Maleo habitats.

The use of interactive learning materials in teaching and learning is one area where advances in information and communication technology have significantly transformed the educational landscape. The purpose of this article is to examine how interactive learning materials affect students' learning motivation and to explain the ways in which they are used, as well as the factors that promote and hinder their use. This study employed a descriptive qualitative methodology and collected data through a literature review of various sources, including books, scientific publications, and relevant previous research. According to the study's findings, students' learning motivation is positively influenced by interactive learning materials. Students' attention, interest, engagement, and confidence in learning can be enhanced through the use of instructional films, animations, interactive multimedia, educational games, and digital platforms. Furthermore, interactive media make learning less boring and more engaging, encouraging students to participate more actively in the process. However, several barriers to the use of interactive learning materials remain, including inadequate technological resources, instructors' inability to use technology, and varying student abilities in using digital devices. Therefore, to maximize the use of interactive learning media to improve the quality of education and student learning motivation, support from schools, educators, and the government is needed.

Pangasius hypophthalmus is one of the economically superior freshwater fish commodities in Riau Province, Indonesia, which is characterized by high protein content but experiences rapid quality decline during storage at room temperature due to proteolytic enzyme activity and microbial spoilage. This study aims to determine the effect of lime (Citrus hystrix) peel concentration and storage time on catfish protein quality and to develop contextual biotechnology learning posters for grade XII high school students based on the research results. This study used a quantitative experimental approach using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with two factors: lime peel concentration (0 g, 200 g, 300 g, and 400 g) and storage time (3, 5, and 7 days) at room temperature (25–30°C), resulting in 36 experimental units. The parameters analyzed included protein content using the Kjeldahl method, pH value, Total Plate Count (TPC), organoleptic characteristics (color, aroma, texture and taste) and hedonic. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) followed by the Duncan's Multiple Range (DMRT) test. The poster development adopted the ADDIE model and was validated by media experts, material experts, and biology teachers. The results showed that lime peel concentration significantly affected catfish protein quality. The 300 g treatment showed the highest protein content (20.96–21.88%), the lowest microbial growth, and superior organoleptic characteristics during the storage period. In contrast, the control treatment showed the most significant protein degradation and microbial proliferation. The developed biotechnology learning poster achieved very high validity scores from the media and relevant experts, demonstrating its suitability as an innovative and contextual educational resource.

The increasing public awareness of healthy lifestyles has led to a growing demand for functional foods, including water kefir as a non-dairy probiotic beverage. Pineapple (Ananas comosus) has considerable potential as a raw material for water kefir production due to its rich nutritional content and widespread availability. Furthermore, different types of sweeteners and fermentation durations are presumed to influence the quality of the resulting water kefir. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the combination of sweetener types (corn sugar and stevia) and fermentation durations (12 and 18 hours) on the quality of pineapple water kefir based on lactic acid content, total lactic acid bacteria (LAB), pH, organoleptic characteristics, and consumer acceptability. This research employed a descriptive experimental method and was conducted at the Biology Education Laboratory, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Riau, and the Laboratory of Agricultural Product Processing and Analysis, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Riau. The collected data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the lactic acid content ranged from 0.32% to 0.41%, total LAB counts ranged from 3.69 × 10⁸ to 8.92 × 10⁸ CFU/mL, and pH values ranged from 3.88 to 4.07. All treatments met the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) requirements for fermented beverages. Based on organoleptic and hedonic evaluations, the best treatment was obtained using stevia with an 18-hour fermentation period (M2J2), achieving a consumer preference score of 2.66 (liked). This treatment was characterized by a light yellow color, a distinctive pineapple fermentation aroma, a slightly sweet taste, and a liquid texture. Therefore, the combination of sweetener type and fermentation duration significantly influenced the quality of pineapple water kefir.

The Kampar River is one of the potential areas for freshwater fish cultivation, particularly catfish (Pangasius sp.) cultured in floating net cages. However, aquaculture activities, feed waste, fish metabolic waste, community activities, industrial activities, and the use of motorboats may reduce water quality and contribute to heavy metal pollution, particularly lead (Pb). Lead is toxic, difficult to degrade naturally, and can accumulate in aquatic organisms, thereby posing risks to human health and the environment. This study aimed to isolate and identify Pb-resistant bacteria in catfish (Pangasius sp.) cultivated in floating net cages in the Kampar River. This research was an exploratory observational study conducted through laboratory observations. Fish samples were collected from floating net cages in the Kampar River, and bacterial isolation was carried out using Nutrient Agar (NA) medium supplemented with 0.8 grams of Pb. Bacterial identification was performed through macroscopic observation, microscopic observation using Gram staining, and biochemical tests, including TSIA, SCA, and SIM tests. The results showed that five Pb-resistant bacterial isolates were obtained from the gills and intestines of catfish. Based on the identification results, the bacteria found consisted of Aeromonas sp., Edwardsiella ictaluri, and Bacillus sp. All isolates had bacillus-shaped cells, with the majority classified as Gram-negative bacteria and one isolate classified as Gram-positive. These findings indicate that catfish cultivated in floating net cages in the Kampar River harbor bacteria capable of surviving in Pb-containing media and potentially serving as bioindicators as well as bioremediation agents for heavy metals.
