Abstract

Rice farming remains a vital sector for rural communities in Indonesia, but dependence on conventional systems has resulted in low productivity and economic instability for farmers. This activity aims to introduce the Rice-Duck-Turi (RDT) system as a sustainable Integrated Farming System (IFS) model applied to the Karya Makmur Farmer Group in Air Satan Village, Musi Rawas Regency. This approach integrates rice cultivation with duck farming in the fields and the planting of turi (Sesbania spp) on the embankments. The research method used a participatory approach through socialization, training, mentoring, and field evaluation activities. The results of this activity show that the Paitri system can reduce the use of chemical fertilizers by up to 25% and provide additional income through duck egg and meat production. The integration of turi plays a role in providing natural organic fertilizer and forage, while also improving soil fertility. This system also strengthens social solidarity and economic independence among farmers through mutual assistance and collective learning. The implementation of the Paitri system has proven to be an efficient, environmentally friendly, and economically valuable sustainable agricultural innovation that can be replicated in other rural areas to strengthen local food security.

Abstract

Digital transformation in librarianship, particularly for librarians as actors in scholarly communication, marks a new era in the governance of digital knowledge products. This transformation presents opportunities for libraries to enhance their operational efficiency through technological integration. In this context, librarians’ digital literacy is a critical competency that supports the success of digital transformation in libraries. This competency extends beyond technological proficiency to include skills in managing and disseminating knowledge products, encompassing cultural heritage, local wisdom, and general knowledge. This study aims to explore the readiness of libraries in facing digital transformation, particularly in ensuring the sustainable accessibility of cultural heritage through digitization. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with an interpretative and constructivist perspective. Data collection is conducted through a literature review, while data analysis follows the Miles & Huberman model, comprising data reduction, data display, and verification. The findings indicate that the success of library digital transformation depends on three key aspects: operational agility, customer-centricity, and workforce competencies. Librarians’ digital literacy is a crucial factor in navigating these changes, encompassing technological capabilities, media interpretation, and skills in access, management, innovation, and collaboration. Furthermore, the digitization of cultural heritage has been identified as a priority to ensure broader access to information and the sustainable preservation of cultural assets in a modern format. Thus, librarians’ digital literacy is a determining factor in maintaining the relevance of libraries in the digital era and meeting the evolving information needs of society.

Abstract

Self-regulation is a crucial skill for students living in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), where daily life is characterized by intensive social interactions, strict routines, and high demands for independence. In such contexts, peer support becomes an important social factor that may influence students’ ability to regulate their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This study aims to examine the effect of peer support on students’ self-regulation in pesantren settings. This study employed a quantitative correlational design involving 252 male and female students from Islamic boarding schools in Gunung Pati District, Semarang, selected through proportional sampling. Data were collected using the Peer Support Questionnaire (PSQ) and the Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SRQ). Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to examine the contribution of different dimensions of peer support to students’ self-regulation. The results showed that peer support had a significant effect on students’ self-regulation (R = 0.654; R² = 0.360; p < 0.01), indicating a moderate to strong effect size. Specifically, emotional support, companionship support, and validation significantly predicted students’ self-regulation, while informational support did not show a significant effect. These findings suggest that affective and relational aspects of peer support play a more important role than informational support in fostering self-regulation among students in pesantren.

Abstract

The quality of palm sugar is greatly influenced by the characteristics of the coconut sap raw material, especially the acidity level (pH), which plays an important role in the crystallization process. The purpose of this study is to analyze the chemical characteristics (reducing sugar content, moisture content, ash content), organoleptic characteristics and panelists' preference levels (color, aroma, taste), and to determine the optimal pH of coconut sap that produces the best palm sugar quality according to quality standards. The research method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments of sap acidity levels (pH), namely pH 5, pH 6, pH 7, and pH 8. Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The observed parameters included moisture content, ash content, reducing sugar content, as well as an organoleptic test of panelists' preference for the color, aroma, and taste of the resulting palm sugar. The obtained data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and if there were differences among treatments, they were further tested with a 5% LSD test. The study results showed that the resulting palm sugar had: reducing sugar content (3.21-6.17%), moisture content (2.27-3.85%), ash content (7.76-21.53%), and the preference test results for color (slightly like-very like), aroma (slightly like-very like), and taste (slightly like-like). It is concluded that the sap acidity level (pH) significantly affects the moisture and ash content of palm sugar, but does not significantly affect the reducing sugar content. The best brown sugar was obtained at pH 8 treatment, which resulted in a lighter color, smooth texture, low moisture content (2.27%), ash content (15.31%), and reducing sugar content (3.21%).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the chemical and sensory characteristics of marshmallows made from young coconut water and coconut sugar, as natural sources of potassium and sodium. The parameters analyzed include potassium content, sodium content, moisture content, pH, and sensory properties. The study employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications, varying the concentrations of young coconut water and coconut sugar. The results showed that potassium levels ranged from 3,208–4,345 mg/kg and sodium levels from 482–1,083 mg/kg. The resulting marshmallows had relatively high moisture content (28.15–39.38%) and low pH (5.03–5.93). Sensory evaluation indicated good acceptance by panelists, characterized by a chewy texture, distinctive coconut sugar aroma, and natural brown color.

Abstract

The demand for animal protein is increasing in line with public awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition, population growth, and increased purchasing power. Satay and shredded meat are popular foods that are sources of animal protein. The price of meat continues to rise, prompting people to seek alternative products that are less expensive to produce yet still nutritious. Processing banana hearts into banana heart satay can be an alternative solution. The "Mekar Bersama" Women Farmers Group is one of the community groups in Maros Regency that partners with us to provide education, training, and assistance in processing local agricultural products into creative, affordable, and nutritious food products. The program solution implemented is the Community Service Program (PkM), which includes education on the benefits and nutritional value of consuming banana hearts, as well as demonstrations of techniques for processing banana hearts into plant-based satay. The results of the activities showed an average increase of 66.67% in the knowledge and skills of the partners. The partners enhanced their understanding of the benefits and nutritional content of banana hearts, gained knowledge about the environment, and developed skills in processing banana hearts into vegetable satay.

Abstract

Pig manure often creates environmental pollution and social issues for small-scale farmers. This community service activity empowers pig farmers to utilize manure for biogas production as an alternative energy source and as a bioslurry for organic fertilization. We applied socialization and assistance, and constructed dome-type biogas digesters using locally available materials. We analyzed the potential of biogas based on the number of livestock and daily manure production, then connected this to household cooking energy needs. The results indicate that farmers can use the resulting biogas as a substitute for LPG for cooking, reducing their dependence on LPG. Additionally, bioslurry can serve as organic fertilizer, supporting agriculture and household gardens. Socio-economically, this activity enables energy cost savings, improves environmental conditions around pens, and fosters greater social acceptance of pig farming. Overall, transforming livestock manure into biogas and bioslurry provides a sustainable empowerment model for farmers, which communities can replicate.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) Identify risk events and risk causes, (2) Know the level of risk, (3) Map risks, and (4) Formulate risk mitigation that can be applied in the production process of stuffed tofu at PT Tahu Jeletot Taisi. The data used are primary data and secondary data collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. The analytical tools used are fishbone diagrams, House Of Risk (HOR), and pareto diagrams. Based on the research that has been done, 25 risk events and 28 risk causes are obtained in the entire series of tofu production processes at PT Tahu Jeletot Taisi. The results of measuring the risk of the highest ARP value in making tofu, namely the quality of soybeans is not good (A1), in frying tofu, namely turning the tofu too hastily (A16), and in making stuffed tofu, namely employees are less careful when splitting and filling the tofu (A26). The mapping results obtained 14 priority risk causes. 8 priority risk causes in tofu making, 3 priority risk causes in tofu frying, and 3 priority risk causes in stuffed tofu making. Then there are 20 risk mitigations recommended to PT Tahu Jeletot Taisi, namely 10 risk mitigations in making tofu, 4 risk mitigations in frying tofu, and 6 risk mitigations in making stuffed tofu.

Abstract

Kota Lhokseumawe merupakan kawasan perkotaan dan industri kimia yang berada pada wilayah rawan gempa bumi akibat pengaruh aktivitas tektonik regional. Gempa bumi tidak hanya berpotensi menimbulkan kerusakan infrastruktur, tetapi juga dapat memicu risiko lingkungan berupa kebocoran bahan kimia dan pencemaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan kerentanan seismik Kota Lhokseumawe berdasarkan parameter frekuensi dominan, faktor amplifikasi, dan indeks kerentanan seismik, serta mengkaji implikasinya sebagai dasar mitigasi risiko lingkungan pada kawasan industri kimia. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis mikrotremor dengan pendekatan Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) untuk memperoleh karakteristik dinamik tanah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kerentanan seismik di Kota Lhokseumawe bervariasi secara spasial, dengan zona kerentanan sedang hingga tinggi terutama terkonsentrasi pada Kecamatan Muara Satu, Blang Mangat, dan Banda Sakti. Integrasi peta kerentanan seismik dengan sebaran kawasan industri kimia menunjukkan adanya tumpang tindih antara zona kerentanan tinggi dan lokasi fasilitas industri, yang mengindikasikan potensi risiko lingkungan yang signifikan apabila terjadi gempa bumi. Pemetaan kerentanan seismik ini dapat digunakan sebagai indikator awal dalam perencanaan mitigasi risiko lingkungan, penataan kawasan industri, serta pengelolaan industri kimia yang berorientasi pada keselamatan dan keberlanjutan lingkungan di Kota Lhokseumawe.

Abstract

Motivasi berprestasi merupakan suatu keinginan untuk menyelesaikan suatu usaha dengan tujuan mencapai keberhasilan dan berjuang hingga sukses. Namun yang terjadi di MTsN 3 Banda Aceh masih banyak siswa yang memiliki motivasi berprestasi yang rendah khususnya di kelas VIII hal ini dibuktikan dengan kurangnya usaha atau kemauan siswa dalam menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan saat proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan motivasi berprestasi melalui penerapan teknik reinforcement pada siswa MTsN 3 Banda Aceh. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif eksperimen dengan model One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. Sampel berjumlah 8 siswa yang didapat melalui teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan angket (kuesioner) untuk mengukur motivasi berprestasi siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji-t, hasil yang didapat menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan sebelum dan sesudah diberikan treatment menggunakan teknik reinforcement layanan konseling kelompok. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian didapatkan nilai rata-rata pre-test dan post-test yaitu sebesar 61.77 (pre-test) dan 88.37 (post-test), dari hasil tersebut diperoleh bahwa penerapan teknik reinforcement dalam meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi siswa berada pada kategori cukup efektif. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan teknik reinforcement melalui layanan konseling kelompok mampu meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi pada siswa MTsN 3 Banda Aceh.
