Abstract

The impact of coal mining in South Kalimantan, the phase after exploitation, involves various aspects such as economic, social, environmental, legal, educational and industrial. Although the negative impacts are numerous and complex, this research aims to explore the positive impacts and economic potential for future social welfare. This research involves mapping the positive impacts of former mines and mining pits that are widespread in South Kalimantan, particularly from Kotabaru in the Southeast to Tabalong in the East. Mine pits, which may cover thousands of hectares and reach depths of hundreds to thousands of kilometers above ground level, are the main focus. Through a structured research program, the results can be identified as potential long-term benefits that can be managed properly. One significant positive impact is the potential utilization of former mine pits as an Electric Energy Reserve. Through transformation into a Power Lake, the region can become a sustainable source of renewable energy. In addition, the concept of energy-preneurship can be introduced to encourage innovation in the energy sector and create new economic opportunities. Environmental aspects can also be accommodated through the establishment of Flood Flow Buffers, which not only act as environmental protection but also provide local economic benefits. Revitalized mine pits can be transformed into proverty residences, such as apartments and lake hotels that bring natural beauty as well as a source of income for local communities. In addition, the reconstruction and transformation program can generate land for fish cages and lake biota, create boat and speedboat cruise attractions, and even become a lake sports icon. All of these initiatives can be managed with national development needs in mind and have the potential to become a source of foreign exchange through the tourism and renewable energy sectors.

Abstract

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero), Tbk (TLKM), PT XL Axiata, Tbk (EXCL), and PT Indosat, Tbk (ISAT) are three Indonesian telecommunications firms whose stocks will be valued using the Discounted Cash Flow technique from 2019 until 2023. According to the analysis, TLKM and EXCL stocks are undervalued, with market prices lower than their intrinsic values. This condition presents attractive investment opportunities for long-term investors, where potential gains may be realized if the companies' performance continues to improve and the market eventually appreciates the intrinsic value of the stocks. Conversely, ISAT stocks are identified as overvalued, with market prices exceeding their intrinsic values. This situation indicates excessive market expectations or the influence of certain external factors, making the decision to sell ISAT stocks a strategic move to realize capital gains before potential market corrections occur. These results emphasise how crucial it is to fully comprehend the internal and external aspects affecting company value before making any investing decisions. Investors are advised not to rely solely on valuation results but to also consider industry prospects, macroeconomic conditions, and company-specific issues to ensure more informed and strategic investment decisions. This study provides valuable insights for investors and market participants in identifying opportunities and risks in stock investments within the telecommunications sector.

Abstract

Keutapang Village is located in Nisam District, North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province with a village area of 123.4 ha. This village has 120 ha of agricultural land and rice as the main commodity, but the productivity of the planting season and harvest cannot be maximized due to the lack of irrigation that has been built, thus it is necessary to increase the effectiveness of irrigation management by mapping irrigation as information for village irrigation development planning. The rural irrigation map contains information on the location, situation and condition of irrigation, and the priority scale for improving the WEBGIS-based network. The purpose of this community service activity was to produce a village irrigation network map and educate village officials in increasing the effectiveness of irrigation network management through WEBGIS-based mapping. The mapping stages included measurement surveys using GPS, digitizing the surface of the area through Google Earth, depicting the layout with the AutoCAD application and making maps with QGIS/ArcGIS software. This community service activity in Keutapang Village, Nisam District produced informative and attractive village irrigation geospatial maps. The result of this activity is a digital irrigation map whose printout is submitted to the village officials. It is hoped that this map can be published and used as a basis for future sustainable village development planning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and describe the impact of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on students' critical thinking skills, self-efficacy, and math learning outcomes. Conducted with fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Bontoa, the research employs a quantitative quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample, selected through simple random sampling, includes 61 students—32 in the experimental group and 29 in the control group. Data were collected via tests and questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results from the MANOVA test show a significant difference (p = 0.009 < 0.05) between students taught with the RME approach and those taught with conventional teacher-centered methods in terms of critical thinking skills, self-efficacy, and learning outcomes. Specifically, critical thinking skills (p = 0.008 < 0.05), self-efficacy (p = 0.005 < 0.05), and learning outcomes (p = 0.003 < 0.05) were all significantly better in the RME group compared to the conventional teaching group.

Abstract

This study examines media ideology in the coverage of Prabowo–Gibran’s 100 Days of Breakthroughs in Education on Kompas.com using Teun A. van Dijk’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) model. Data consist of five news articles published between January and February 2025, selected through purposive sampling. The analysis was conducted qualitatively across three dimensions: text (macro, micro, and superstructure), social cognition, and social context. The findings reveal that the media do not merely report education policies but actively construct public opinion through linguistic strategies, issue framing, and rhetorical devices. While policies such as the 13-year compulsory education and teacher allowance improvements are portrayed as achievements, issues of educational equity and the welfare of honorary teachers are critically addressed. These results support earlier studies (Sari, 2020; Widodo, 2021) but provide a novel contribution by highlighting how the media simultaneously legitimize and criticize government policies during the early phase of a new administration. The study concludes that media coverage functions as an ideological arena where government, society, and media interact, emphasizing the need for transparency and broader public participation in education policy formulation.
