Abstract

Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) is essential for developing 21st-century Arabic language skills. This study aims to assess the readiness of Indonesian Arabic language teachers to implement TBLT, utilizing the comprehensive ACTFL World-Readiness Standards (5Cs): communication, cultures, connections, comparisons, and communities, as the analytical framework. Employing a quantitative survey design, data were collected from Arabic teachers across various educational levels in Indonesia to evaluate their current preparedness levels against the 5Cs standard. The overall readiness index stands at 3.01 (on a 5-point scale), concluding that the teachers are “not ready, need some repairs” for full TBLT implementation. While Communication demonstrated the highest readiness (3.36), aspects like Comparisons (2.85) and Cultures (2.87) showed the lowest scores. These findings provide a crucial evaluation of teachers' preparedness, highlighting an urgent need for targeted professional development programs focused on integrating cultural competency and comparative linguistic skills within TBLT pedagogy to meet the demands of 21st-century language education.

Abstract

M. Zaini Ghani bin Abdul Ghani or known as Guru Sekumpul is a well-known scholar in the South Kalimantan region whose work traces back to the land of Sekumpul, Martapura, South Kalimantan. During his life, he had made extraordinary services for the Muslims there, his extraordinary jihad deserved the greatest appreciation. This is evidenced by the large number of congregations in the submission. Even after he died, the haul congregation continued to grow every year. During his lifetime, Guru Sekumpul forbade the teachings of Sufism, one of which was a way to cleanse the heart. This is where his Sufi values can be seen, which until now has been used as a role model for the wider community, especially the people of Kalimantan. Zaini Ghani bin Abdul Ghani atau dikenal dengan sebutan Guru Sekumpul merupakan ulama masyhur di wilayah kalimantan Selatan yang kiprahnya berjejak di tanah Sekumpul, Martapura, Kalimantan Selatan. Semasa hidupnya, beliau telah menorehkan jasa yang luar biasa bagi umat Islam di sana, jihad beliau yang luar biasa patut dibeikan apresiasi yang sebesar-besarnya. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan banyaknya jemaah dalam pengajuannya. Bahkan setelah beliau wafat sekalipun, jama’ah haul terus bertambah setiap tahunnya. Semasa hidupnya Guru Sekumpul banyak mengajarkan ajaran tasawuf salah satunya adalah cara membersihkan hati, dari sinilah telihat nilai kesufian beliau yang sampai sekarang dijadikan   suri   teladan   bagi   masyarakat   luas,   khusunya masyarakat Kalimantan. Kata Kunci: Guru Sekumpul, Tasawuf, Sufistik.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is creating a gap between conventional curricula and the industry's need for AI literacy among students of Information Systems. Information Systems (IS) students, as future designers and developers of technology, play a crucial role in understanding and applying AI effectively and ethically. This community service activity aims to enhance the understanding of IS students at Kalla Institute regarding the concepts, trends, benefits, challenges, and ethical implications of the AI revolution in education. This service was realized through an internal workshop delivered directly by a lecturer from the Information Systems Study Program at Kalla Institute. The implementation method involved interactive lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions that explored various aspects of AI in the educational context, ranging from basic concepts and practical applications to ethical considerations. Activity evaluation was conducted through pre-test and post-test questionnaires, as well as qualitative feedback, to measure the increase in participants' understanding and perceptions. The results showed a significant increase in understanding among student participants regarding the role and impact of AI in education, as well as high enthusiasm for utilizing AI for learning and future career development. This service activity successfully increased the understanding and readiness of Kalla Institute students to apply AI ethically and responsibly, contributing to the achievement of the institution's vision.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of music therapy and the level of emotional expression of students at Makassar State University. The phenomenon of increasing academic, social, and personal pressures causes many students to experience difficulties in expressing emotions healthily. Music is seen as an alternative medium to help regulate and channel emotions. This study uses a quantitative approach with a non-experimental correlational method. The study population consisted of students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Makassar State University, with data collection through a courage questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive tests, the Kolmogorov-Smithnov normality test, simple linear regression, and the Pearson correlation test. The results of this study indicate a positive and significant relationship between the intensity of music therapy and the level of emotional expression of students (r = 0.429; p = 0.001). This means that the higher the intensity of students in music therapy, the higher their ability to express emotions adaptively. Music therapy has been shown to stimulate the autonomic nervous system, reduce stress, and improve emotional well-being. These findings support the application of music therapy as an effective nonverbal therapy in guidance and counseling, especially to help students manage emotions and mental health positively.
