Abstract

Fuzzy logic is a control system technique in solving problems and is applied to systems, from basic systems to difficult or complex systems. Fuzzy logic is the proper method to plan an input space into an output space using MATLAB's mathematical theory of fuzzy sets. The reason for using fuzzy logic is because it is related to uncertainty. The unstable demand for blood bags in hospitals makes the supply of blood bags excessive or lacking from demand. The lack of blood supply results in the unfulfilled demand for blood needed by the hospital, while the excess blood supply worsens the quality of blood. In this study, we will predict the number of bags produced using the Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) method based on the minimum demand and maximum demand values and the minimum supply and maximum supply that produce output from the defuzzification process. Applying the Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) method based on demand and supply data obtains optimal output with MATLAB in predicting the number of blood bags produced. The results of the study showed that the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) fuzzy logic Mamdani error value was 24%, the accuracy value of the Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) Mamdani in determining the number of blood bag production was 76%, and the production output generated through the Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) Mamdani was 4,774 blood bags. The number of blood requests at the hospital is 4,443 blood bags, so the amount of blood that must be produced to meet the hospital's demand is 4,774 bags.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the potential for occupational health and safety hazards using the Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) method and to provide recommendations for resolving the root causes of work accidents using Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). This study was conducted at PT. X, engaged in the plantation and processing of latex, is called Crumb Rubber. Based on data from 2022 to 2023, there are eight potential work accidents caused by several factors, such as the work environment, machines, and humans. The company has implemented an occupational health and safety program to support the safety of the company workforce. Even so, work accidents in the company still occur due to workers not being aware of the importance of occupational health and safety; this can be seen in workers who ignore their safety by not using complete personal protective equipment provided by the company. This still causes the potential for work accidents to occur. The study results show that the Hazard and Operability analysis revealed four different sources of danger that need attention: Low risk, such as split palms and slipping; Medium risk, including incidents such as sprained hands. High risk, including the potential for feet being stabbed by hooks, injured or cut hands, blistered and itchy hands, forklift accidents, and exposure to chemicals. Extreme risk is the potential for eye irritation. Based on the root causes of work accidents that have been observed using the Hazard and Operability method, recommendations were obtained using the Fault Tree Analysis method in the form of improving work attitudes, including creating a work health and safety training schedule, developing worksheets, and implementing attractive poster displays (visual displays). Recommendations for improving work environment conditions are recommended, especially managing puddles and chemical spills and optimizing machine maintenance.

Abstract

PT. Sisirau Palm Oil Mill Company is engaged in the production of crude palm oil (CPO) and kernel. In its production processes, the company continuously operates heavy machinery around the clock. These machines generate high noise levels, potentially causing both auditory (hearing-related) and non?auditory (communication, physiological, psychological, and work?productivity) disturbances among workers. This study aims to map the noise levels and analyse their impact on auditory and non?auditory disorders among workers at the production workstations of PT. Sisirau’s palm oil mill. Measurements were taken at 74 points across five production workstations: the kernel station, boiler station, engine room, clarification station, and press station. Using a Sound Level Meter, noise measurements were converted into equivalent continuous sound levels, followed by regression analysis employing the t?test to determine the relationship between noise exposure and worker disturbances. The results show that most measurement points at the production workstations exceeded the established Threshold Limit Value (TLV), with an average noise level of 98?dB. This indicates that noise levels in production areas are very high and require immediate reduction measures. Moreover, the statistical analysis revealed a significant correlation between noise levels and both auditory and non?auditory disturbances among workers (P-value = 0.002 0.05). In other words, as noise exposure increases, so does the risk of hearing impairment, communication problems, physiological and psychological effects, and reduced work productivity. These findings underscore the urgent need for noise control efforts, improvements to the working environment, and the implementation of more effective and consistent occupational health and safety policies to safeguard the health and safety of workers at PT. Sisirau’s palm oil mill.

Abstract

The city of Lhokseumawe, which is one of the cities that has a topography such as a bay and a very busy area as the center of government, business, and services, has also experienced congestion. In 2012, the Lhokseumawe City Government has started planning to build a 7.6 Kilometer Lhokseumawe City Ring Road, starting from Sp.Kandang – Pusong and Sp. Lestari – Loskala. The ring road construction is along the shores of Ujong Blang Beach and KP3, where Ujong Blang Beach and KP3 since 1998 until now continue to experience abrasion. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of abrasion speed of Ujong Blang Beach and KP3 Beach and risk factors other than abrasion for an optimal risk-based management model approach to the Lhokseumawe City Ring Road as coastal infrastructure that is prone to abrasion and other risks. The method used to determine the abrasion rate is based on Landsat ETM+ (Enhanced Thematic Mapper) satellite data for a period of 25 years (1995 – 2020) which is analyzed by the Digital Shoreline Analysis System. The results showed that the magnitude of the abrasion speed of Ujong Blang Beach and KP3 Beach was -2.11 m/year and the farthest accretion occurred on the coast on transect 83 with an accretion distance of 111.34 m or around 4.45. Meanwhile, other factors were sea waves. with a period range of 2.33-10.25 s with an average of 4.57 s. Furthermore, the height of the coastal topography ranges from 0.00-8.60 m with an average of 4.30 m and the coastal slope observed at 8 observation locations obtained a coastal slope range of 2.90-4.47% with an average slope of 3,76%. The optimum risk-based management carried out by the ring road manager is the ALARP-principles approach to control very high to high risk (ALARP Zone), namely by building a preventive building in the form of a conventional type of breakwater with minimal handling costs to mitigate a greater impact on the environment. Damage to the Lhokseumawe City Ring Road if the risk occurs during the life of the road plan.
