Abstract

Math anxiety is one of the most serious obstacles in education. Based on the results of observations, there are early indications that students experience anxiety in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the great wind blows type of active learning strategy on the level of students' mathematical anxiety. The method used for this paper is a quantitative method using a pre-experimental design. the pre-experimental design with the one group pretest post test design was used because the researcher wanted to see the difference between the level of anxiety before the action was taken and after the action was carried out so that from these results it could be seen whether there was an influence or not from the learning strategy used. The results of this study indicate that the average value of the posttest results obtained an average value of 45.32 with a standard deviation of 8.55 while the pretest results obtained an average value of 54.64 with a standard deviation of 9.21. the great wind blows type of active learning strategy (posttest) tends to decrease compared to before using the great wind blows type of active learning strategy (pretest).

Abstract

Education policies certainly vary from country to country. To achieve the main goal of education, the Indonesian and Australian governments should work to improve the quality of education in their respective countries by conducting possible curriculum comparisons with other countries. The main objective of this study is to compare the primary school mathematics curriculum in Indonesia and Australia. What are the parallels and differences between the paradigms embedded in the Australian and Indonesian curricula? The research also aimed to find information that would allow a more thorough comparison of the two countries' education systems and mathematics curricula. Mathematics curricula and textbooks from both countries were analyzed for this study, making document analysis the main methodological choice. The research method used was a comparative analysis using qualitative techniques conducted to highlight the similarities and differences between the two. Results show that the Australian mathematics curriculum follows the guidelines set by the National Mathematics Standards Teacher Council of the United States, New Zealand, Finland and the United Kingdom. The topics covered outline the curriculum to be presented to students i.e. Comprehension, fluency, problem solving and reasoning are all addressed as part of the skillset. It is different with Indonesia which is currently using the 2013 curriculum. The 2013 curriculum which is often called Kurtila is a competency-based curriculum. Abstract

This study compares the Turkish and Indonesian education curricula regarding critical reading skills. Critical reading is important for understanding and evaluating texts critically, rationally, and reflectively. In this study, data was collected from both countries to compare their critical reading skills using the comparative descriptive method. The Turkish Language Curriculum (TLCC) has a teaching hierarchy that allows for gradually developing reading skills according to grade level. The focus is on higher-order thinking skills such as classifying, interpreting, critiquing, and evaluating texts. TLCC teaches reading strategies, identifying main ideas, and evaluating media texts. In Indonesia, the Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes critical and creative thinking in reading learning. The approach is student-centered and actively engages students in the learning process. It also focuses on developing creativity, scientific reasoning, reflection, and applying Pancasila values. In conclusion, TLCC provides a gradual teaching structure and focuses on higher-order thinking skills, while the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia encourages critical and creative thinking in broader learning. It is recommended to improve student feedback, use diverse reading materials, and integrate concrete steps in developing reading skills with critical and creative thinking.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how the Webbed integrated learning paradigm influences the critical thinking abilities of Senior High School (SHS) students. This research was conducted using a one-group Pre-test-Post-test design in a pre-experimental setting. The research subjects were ten men and nine women who were class X students at SHS 12 Padang. The instruments used are test sheets and observation sheets. The critical thinking ability test consists of two stages, namely Pre-test and Post-test. Based on research, students' critical thinking skills obtained an average score of 87 on the Post-test and 71 on the Pre-test. A sig value of 0.251 < ? (0.05) was obtained using the Paired Sample T-test at ? (0.05) in data analysis SPSS 22 for Windows. Research findings show that the Pre-test and Post-test are significantly different. Apart from that, a medium category N-Gain value was obtained of 0.543. This shows that the use of the Webbed integrated learning model has an impact on student's critical thinking abilities both before and after treatment. Then in several aspects of critical thinking, such as argument evaluation and information analysis, women tend to show higher levels than men, with the average score for women's argument evaluation being 78% while men's is 72%. However, in other aspects such as information synthesis and making conclusions, men tend to stand out, with men's average information synthesis score being 80% while women's is 76%.
