Abstract

This research aims to analyze teacher perceptions of Citizenship in Science learning tools designed to develop critical thinking skills in physics, specifically for Regular Straight Motion and Regular Changing Straight Motion materials. Using a mixed-method approach with an explanatory sequential design, data was collected from 9 junior high school science teachers through both quantitative questionnaires and qualitative interviews. The research employed purposive sampling to ensure participants had direct experience teaching the relevant physics concepts. Quantitative data was analyzed descriptively while qualitative data was processed using the Miles and Huberman method. Results indicate that teachers perceive the learning tools very positively with an average rating of 90.06%, particularly appreciating the systematic design, content clarity, critical thinking facilitation, and 21st century learning integration. The novelty of this study lies in its explicit integration of Citizenship in Science approaches with critical thinking development in physics education, providing a framework that connects theoretical physics concepts with real-world applications and civic responsibility. This research contributes to understanding the potential implementation challenges and opportunities for innovative physics learning tools in classroom settings. The findings imply that physics education can be enhanced through tools that not only develop conceptual understanding but also foster critical thinking skills necessary for scientific citizenship, though further classroom implementation studies with larger samples are needed to validate effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' perceptions of the development of Citizenship-based learning devices in science integrated with the Science, Technology, and Society approach to make students have critical thinking skills, science process skills, and students' curiosity in learning energy material. A mixed method approach was used, combining qualitative and quantitative data. The study involved five schools, with qualitative data obtained through teacher interviews and classroom observations, while quantitative data were collected through teacher perception questionnaires. The findings showed that the developed devices were positively received and considered effective in making students have critical thinking skills, science process skills, and students' curiosity in learning energy material and can connect scientific concepts with social and environmental issues. Furthermore, the devices were found to support the development of scientific attitudes and awareness of the social impacts of science and technology. Overall, the learning devices were considered suitable for contextual and meaningful science education

Abstract

Pada perkembangan teknologi di dunia Pendidikan banyak sekali media pembelajaran yang muncul untuk membantu proses pembelajaran. Dalam proses perkembangan teknologi media pembelajaran konvensional seperti buku dan lks menjadi kurang begitu menarik. Penelitian ini membandingkan efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran konvensional dan e-learning berbasis website pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit di kelas X SMAN 11 Muaro Jambi. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan data yang dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan survei kepada guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-learning lebih menarik dan efektif dibandingkan metode tradisional, meningkatkan antusiasme siswa dan memudahkan akses pembelajaran. Selain itu, e-learning memberikan pengalaman belajar yang interaktif dan menyenangkan. Namun, keberhasilan penerapan e-learning bergantung pada dukungan infrastruktur teknologi dan kemampuan penggunaannya. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi potensi e-learning dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, khususnya di era digital.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis motivasi belajar siswa terhadap pembelajaran kimia berbasis kontekstual pada materi asam basa. Metode deskriptif kuantitatif digunakan dengan sampel 26 siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 15 Muaro Jambi. Data diperoleh melalui angket motivasi belajar yang mencakup 15 indikator. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa berada pada kategori Sedang (30,77%) dan Rendah (23,08%). Strategi pembelajaran berbasis kontekstual terbukti efektif meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, meskipun diperlukan pendekatan tambahan untuk mendukung siswa dengan motivasi rendah. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan metode pembelajaran inovatif yang relevan dengan kehidupan nyata siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze research trends and developments in the implementation of the Science Technology Society (STS) approach in science education. The study uses bibliometric analysis and systematic review, with data collected from Scopus, Web of Science, and other databases. Tools include VOSviewer for keyword network analysis and the PRISMA method for data selection. The STS approach significantly enhances critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Key topics include digital technology integration and the role of STS during the COVID-19 pandemic. Gaps exist in applying STS across educational levels and its impact on scientific attitudes. This study provides a comprehensive understanding of STS research trends, emphasizing the integration of digital tools in education and identifying unexplored areas. It advances the knowledge by suggesting future research directions to improve STS implementation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam penelitian Research and Develpoment (RD) yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif terintegrasi kearifan lokal pada materi asam basa yang valid, layak dan praktis. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan model Lee Owens yang terdiri dari tahap analisis (analysis),  desain (design), pengembangan (development), implementasi (implementastion) dan evaluasi (evaluation). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA N 12 Kota Jambi dengan subjek peneliian yaitu kelas XII Fase F-2. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar wawancara guru, angket validasi yaitu angket validasi ahli materi dan ahli media untuk mengetahui kelayakan secara konseptual terhadap media yang dikembangkan, angket penilaian guru dan respon peserta didik. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis data kualitatif dan analisis data kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil  penelitian yang diperoleh dari validasi ahli media sebesar 4,4 (sangat layak), ahli media sebesar 4,3 (sangat layak), penilaian guru sebesar 4,7 (sangat layak) dan respon peserta didik memiliki persentase sebesar 87,06 % (sangat baik). Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif terintegrasi kearifan lokal pada  materi asam basa sudah layak digunakan secara konseptual dan prosedural sebagai media pembelajaran kimia.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of a Case-Based Learning (CBL) model integrated with a question-and-answer method and class discussion in enhancing students' cognitive and communication skills. The research employed a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. The subjects of the study were third-semester students enrolled in an inorganic chemistry 1. Intially, students were assessed through a pretest designed to measure their cognitive and communication skills. After implementation of the CBL model, followed by question-and-answer sessions and class discussion, a posttest was conducted to evaluate improvements in these skills. The results demonstrated significant enhancement in students' cognitive and communication abilities. The CBL model encouraged students actively analyze authentic cases and articulate logical solutions, thereby strengthening their critical thinking and oral communication skills. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the model is medium effective in enhancing the quality of learning, particularly in developing students' cognitive and communication skills in inorganic chemistry courses.        Keywords: cognitive, communication, case-based learning model.

Abstract

Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU) adalah sarana infrastruktur penting dalam sektor ketenagalistrikan yang menggunakan energi kinetik dari uap sebagai sumber daya, yang dihasilkan melalui proses pembakaran bahan bakar seperti batubara, minyak, atau gas. PLTU yang berlokasi di Kabupaten Kupang, tepatnya di Desa Bolok. PLTU Bolok adalah salah satu pabrik pembangkit listrik yang menggunakan batubara sebagai bahan bakar utama dalam proses pembangkitan energi listriknya, Batu bara adalah sumber daya alam non-renewable berupa batuan karbon yang terbentuk dari tumbuhan purba yang telah mengalami proses dekomposisi dan pemadatan selama jutaan tahun. Ini adalah salah satu bahan bakar fosil yang paling banyak digunakan di dunia untuk menghasilkan energi. fly ash yang dihasilkan oleh Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU) Bolok, merupakan limbah yang memiliki potensi untuk menyebabkan dampak lingkungan yang seriusPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk Pengujian kuat tekan paving blok yang menggunakan abu batu bara sebagai bahan tambahan (sesuai dengan SNI-03-0691-1996) Pengujian konsentrasi abu batu bara dalam campuran mempengaruhi densitas pada paving block (sesuai dengan SNI-03-0691-1996). Berdasarkan latar belakang dan tujuan penelitian maka peneliti mengambil metode kuantitatif untuk pengujian kuat tekan dan densitas pada paving block dengan tambahan fly ash. densitas presentase 0 % dengan nilai 1,366 kg/m³ hasil densitas ini cukup rendah dan pada presentase 20% dengan nilai 2,2749 kg/m³ densitas ini memiki peningkatan menunjukkan bahwa paving block tersebut memiliki kekuatan yang lebih baik dan kualitas yang lebih tinggi secara keseluruhan, hasil pengujian kuat tekan pada paving block yang menggunakan campuran abu batubara(fly ash). Setiap perbandingan campuran menunjukkan variasi kuat tekan yang berbeda. Pada perbandingan 0%, kuat tekan paling rendah tercatat sebesar 22,93 kg/cm², sementara pada perbandingan 15%, kuat tekan tertinggi mencapai 110,04 kg/cm².

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to develop a valid, reliable, and culturally relevant evaluation instrument for assessing the pedagogical competencies of teacher candidates in the Professional Teacher Education Program (PPG) at the elementary school level, based on the Condition of Learning theory. Methodology: The study employed a quantitative approach with validation by six experts and field testing involving 100 teacher candidates. Data analysis included Cronbach's Alpha for reliability measurement. The instrument design adhered to Condition of Learning principles, integrating cultural relevance and pedagogical evaluation. Main Findings: Validation scores ranged from 4.3 to 5.0 across aspects, with a reliability score of 0.72 (Cronbach's Alpha). Evaluation results showed mean scores of 85.05 for cognitive, 80.07 for affective, and 81.14 for psychomotor competencies, indicating strong preparedness among teacher candidates. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study integrates Condition of Learning principles with cultural elements, creating a comprehensive evaluation instrument that reflects Indonesia's educational context. It provides a significant tool for improving pedagogical assessments and aligns evaluation with local values and national education standards. This research has an impact on the creation of more effective and relevant evaluation instruments, so that it can improve the quality of professional education of elementary school teachers through the application of learning conditions theory.

Abstract

This article aims to integrate local wisdom of Mangrove Ecotourism in the learning process in elementary schools to meet the demands of the 2013 curriculum based on local wisdom. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research using ethnography. The research sample consisted of 7 informants, with two community leaders, two people from the Youth and Sports Tourism Office and three classroom teachers. This research, using instrument through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study found that local wisdom of Mangrove Ecotourism can be applied in the learning process in grade IV elementary schools and can provide excellent benefits in the development of the developmental aspects of students not only in cognitive aspects but in affective and psychomotor aspects of students.
