Abstract

This research aims to develop Genially based learning media and refers to Posner’s theory of conceptual change to address misconceptions about heat. This development research refers to the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), with respondents of SMA Negeri 2 Tanjung Jabung Barat class XI IPA students who have studied heat material. The research instruments include a five-tier diagnostic test, materials, and media expert validation sheets. Based on validation by media and materials experts, the developed product achieved excellent results, with an average score of 91.96% for media experts and 90.18% for materials experts, respectively. The effectiveness test using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test method showed a significant decrease in misconceptions, with a significance value of p = 0.010 (<0.005). The novelty of this research lies in the development of Genially-based learning media, combined with Posner’s Conceptual Change Theory, to reduce misconceptions specifically in heat-related material. The implication of this research shows that this media is not only effective in reducing misconceptions but also has the potential to be applied more widely in digital literacy-based physics learning, as well as a reference for developing similar media on other materials that are prone to misconceptions.

Abstract

Misinterpretation of concepts or misconceptions often occurs in physics, especially in linear motion material. To overcome this problem, this study developed interactive learning media based on the Genially platform by applying Posner’s Conceptual Change Theory. The research used the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) and involved 35 grade XI students at SMAN 5 Jambi City. The novelty of this research lies in the systematic integration of Posner’s conceptual change approach and Genially’s interactive features, which have not been effectively applied in the context of high school physics learning. The results showed that the developed media was able to significantly reduce the level of student misconceptions, with an average decrease from 10.48% to 5.24%. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test statistical test yielded a significance value of 0.042 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pre- and post-treatment values. The implication of this research is the availability of alternative digital learning media that are not only engaging and in line with the characteristics of the digital generation, but also effective in addressing student misconceptions in depth. This media can also serve as a model for developing other teaching materials on complex physics topics prone to misconceptions.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Remazol batik wastewater treatment at SMAN 3 Muaro Jambi through degradation and adsorption using a TiO₂/biochar photocatalytic composite. The biochar was derived from cassava peel and employed under UV light irradiation, with UV-Vis spectrophotometry used for analysis. Treatment efficiency was assessed by varying the biochar mass (1–4 grams) and reaction time (1, 3, and 6 hours). The highest removal efficiency of 100% was achieved at 4 grams of biochar and 6 hours of exposure. The adsorption process followed the Freundlich isotherm model, indicating a multilayer adsorption mechanism on the biochar surface. These findings suggest that the TiO₂/biochar composite offers an effective, eco-friendly, and practical solution for small-scale batik wastewater treatment, particularly in educational and home industry settings.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan pengujian nilai konduktivitas dengan menggunakan alat Impedansi Analizer, dimana nilai impedansi dijadikan sebagai parameter penentuan perubahan konduktivitas akibat penambahan pupuk NPK (tambahan unsur hara tanah). Sampel yang digunakan adalah jenis tanah inseptisol dengan 5 variasi jenis tanah, sampel diambil dari 5 titit berebeda pada lahan perkebunan daerah kampus Universitas Jambi.Tahap awal pengujian dilakukan pengukuran nilai impedansi pada H-1 (hari pertama) dengan penambahan pupuk NPK sebesar 0%, 1%, 3%, 5% dan 7% terhadap masing-masing sampel, untuk memastikan nilai konduktivitas hanya dipengaruhi unsur hara NPK maka kelembaban di berikan konstant pada kisaran 40%-45%. Setelah pengambilan data tahap awal sampel dibiarkan dan ditutup dalam pelastik agar terjadi penguraian pupuk pada tanah, penguraian dilakukan secara Anaerobdengan estimasi penguraian 12 hari, setelah hari ke- 12 dilakukan kembali pengujian nilai impedansi terhadap masing-masing sampel. Hasil pengukuran nilai konduktivitas mengalami kenaikan terhadap penambahan pupuk dan setelah terjadi penguraian, hal ini dapat dilihat dengan berkurangnya nilai impedansi. Secara kuantitatif semua jenis sampel tanah mempunya hubungan linier dengan nilai regresi >99% terhadap penambahan pupuk dan penguraian unsur hara, untuk itu penelitian ini akan menjadi dasar pemodelan alat kesuburan tanah dengan parameter nilai konduktivitas.

Abstract

Pompa vakum merupakan pompa yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk irigasi pertanian, pompa bekerja dengan prinsip vakum yang ditandai dengan tidak adanya rongga udara didalam pompa tersebut. Pada pengabdian ini telah dilakukan penerapan pompa vakum untuk irigasi pertanian dan perkebunan, dalam penerapanya pompa vakum tidak membutuhkkan energi listrik ataupun bahan bakar minyak untuk itu sangat efesien penggunaanya. Metode : Metode pengabdian dilakukan meliputi survey, perancangan alat, perakitan alat, instalasi pompa, sosialisasi penggunaan pompa, serta evaluasi. Hasil Pengabdian: telah berhasil dibuat pompa vakum dengan tinggi 1,5m dan diameter pipa masukan 1 inc, indikator 3/4inc serta pipa keluaran 3 inc, selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian pompa dan sosialisai instalasi pompa pada masyarakat Kelurahan Mudung Laut. Pengabdian ini telah memberi pengetahuan masyarakat untuk dapat mengembangkan pompa vakum sebagai sistem irigasi pertanian dan perkebunan terpadu.

Abstract

The purpose of the research will be to see if there is an influence between students' attitudes and science process skills. Quantitative study with a sample size of 139 students. The research instrument used a questionnaire and an observation sheet. Based on the research results, there are 65.0% of students have very good attitudes in learning science and 64.3% of students' science process skills are categorized as very good. Based on the results obtained, it is known that there is an influence of students' attitudes on students' science process skills. As much as 75.7% of students' process skills in science learning are influenced by students' attitudes and 24.3% of students' science process skills are influenced by other factors. These science process skills can be trained and improved through hands-on experience such as conducting experiments or practicums. Abstract

The inability of students to think critically in solving algebraic problems is evident in their tendency to rely on formulas without a profound understanding of basic algebraic concepts. They struggle to analyze problems and devise appropriate strategies before solving them, often sticking to a singular solution approach without critically exploring alternative solutions. Critical thinking has become a crucial skill in 21st-century learning for discerning truths and making informed decisions, assessed through indicators such as Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity, and Overview. Teachers need to comprehend students' learning styles and adjust teaching methods accordingly, as categorized by Porter into three types: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. This study delves into students' critical thinking in algebra problem-solving concerning their learning styles, utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach with purposive sampling. Based on the provided learning style questionnaire, 61.11% of students from XI IPA MAN 2 Kota Jambi exhibit a visual learning style. Subjects with a visual learning style then undergo a critical thinking test in algebra problem-solving. Research findings reveal a deficiency in students' critical thinking abilities, indicating their struggles in critically analyzing mathematical problems thoroughly.

Abstract

Abad ke-21 merupakan abad pengetahuan yang menghendaki segala aktivitas berbasis pada pengetahuan. Pada abad ke-21 ini sangat dibutuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritits, kreatif, kemampuan kolaboratif, metakognitif, kemampuan komunikasi, dan menguasai teknologi komunikasi. Selain itu, sikap dan keaktifan belajar merupakan hal penting yang harus dimiliki peserta didik dalam pembelajaran pada abad ke-21. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini dirancang untuk melihat bagaimana hubungan sikap dengan keaktifan belajar siswa terhadap mata pelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian mix methods metode asosiatif jenis korelasional. Prosedur penelitian ini dimulai dengan menyebarkan angket, dokumetasi, dan wawancara. Pengambilan data angket data kuesioner diberikan kepada 147 siswa di SMPN 18 Kota Jambi. Dari data tersebut kemudian dilakukan analisis data yaitu pengkodean data, penyariangan data-data yang layak dan analisis dari data tersebut. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji korelasional untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara sikap dan keaktifan belajar. Hasil dari penelitian ini terdapat hubungan yang positif antara sikap dan keaktifan siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA yang ditunjukkan dari hasil analisis pearson correlation sebesar 0.046. Science education in urban secondary school: How attitude towards science and learning activity? AbstractThe 21st century is the age of knowledge which requires all knowledge-based activities. In the 21st century, critical thinking skills, creative skills, collaborative abilities, metacognitive skills, communication skills, and communication technology are needed. Besides, learning attitudes and activeness are important things that students must have in learning in the 21st century. Therefore this study was designed to see how the relationship between attitudes and student learning activeness in science subjects. This research is mixed-method research with an associative type of correlational method. This research procedure begins with distributing questionnaires, documentation, and interviews. Retrieving questionnaire data was given to 147 students at SMPN 18 Jambi City. From the data, data analysis was then carried out, namely data coding, filtering the appropriate data, and analyzing the data. The data analysis technique uses a correlational test to determine whether there is a relationship between attitudes and learning activeness. The results of this study showed a positive relationship between student attitudes and activeness in science subjects as indicated by the results of the Pearson correlation analysis of 0.046.

Abstract

Penelitian memiliki tujuan untuk melihat terdapat atau tidaknya pengaruh minat belajar siswa pada pelajaran fisika di era pandemi kelas XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Pringgarata. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dengan menggunakan pendekatan metode campuran (mixed method) dengan teknik pengambilan sampling menggunakan teknik pengisian angket. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 23 siswa kelas XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Pringgarata. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan data kuantitatif yang di analisis menggunakan teknik analisis statistic regresi dengan melakukan uji normalitas dan uji reliabilitas diperoleh nilai r hitung sebesar 0,863. Hal ini berarti bahwa terdapat pengaruh minat belajar siswa pada pelajaran fisika di era pandemi kelas XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Pringgarata.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan berpikir reflektif siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika menggunakan Taksonomi Bloom ditinjau dari gaya kognitif field dependent dan field idependent serta menganalisis perbedaan berpikir reflektif siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika menggunakan Taksonomi Bloom ditinjau dari gaya kognitif field dependent dan field independent. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, yang dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Batanghari pada tanggal 22 April-22 Mei 2021. Subjek penelitian ini melibatkan dua siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif field dependent (FD) dan field independent (FI). Instrument penelitian berupa lembar tes pemecahan masalah matematika, lembar tes GEFT serta lembar wawancara berpikir reflektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa FD hanya dapat mencapai pada tiga level yaitu remembering, understanding dan applying. Sementara siswa FI memenuhi kelima karakteristik level taksonomi berpikir reflektif yaitu remembering, understanding applying, analyzing dan evaluating. Kesimpulan penelitian berpikir reflektif siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika menggunakan Taksonomi Bloom ditinjau dari gaya kognitif field dependent. Siswa bergaya kognitif field dependent memliki tingkatan berpikir reflektif yang dapat dicapai dalam pemecahan masalah matematika hanya pada level tiga yaitu hanya sampai pada level menerapkan (applying). Karena pada tahap analisis siswa field dependent tidak mampu menjelaskan bagaimana menganalisis prosese penyelesaian yang siswa lakukan. Siswa tidak dapat mencari korelasi antara beberapa jawaban atau solusi yang telah diperoleh, sehingga siswa tidak mampu melakukan analisi mengenai jawaban yang telah dikerjakan, dikarenakan siswa bertanya mengenai jawaban kepada teman, dan tidak mampu menjelaskan mengenai jawaban telah dikerjakan merupakan jawaban benar.
