Abstract

This research critically examines Imam Al-Ghazali’s concept of faith (ʿaqīdah) formation in early childhood and its relevance within modern Islamic education. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach through a critical literature review, this study explores Al-Ghazali’s seminal works—Ihya’ ‘Ulum al-Din and Ayyuha al-Walad—and compares them with contemporary Islamic educational theories. The analysis indicates that Al-Ghazali emphasized moral exemplarity, consistent worship practice, spiritual self-awareness (muraqabah), and purification of the soul (tazkiyah al-nafs) as foundational pillars of a child’s faith formation. These principles remain highly applicable to modern Islamic education when integrated with contextual, experiential, and character-based pedagogies. The synthesis of Al-Ghazali’s classical thought with current educational innovations presents a sustainable framework for cultivating faith-based character among young learners in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and analyze the effectiveness of locally-based animated videos as an innovative medium for improving Arabic speaking skills (mahārah al-kalām) at the secondary school level. The background of this research is the low speaking ability of students due to the use of conventional and less contextual learning media. The integration of local cultural elements is expected to provide a more meaningful learning experience by linking Arabic to the social and cultural context of students. The research method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of various national and international studies published in the period 2019–2025 through the Scopus, ERIC, DOAJ, and Garuda databases. The analysis was conducted using a content analysis approach to examine the effectiveness of animated videos, the forms of local cultural integration, and their influence on student motivation and communication skills. The results of the study show that locally-based animated videos are effective in improving students' fluency, accuracy, and confidence in speaking Arabic. Expert validation shows the suitability of content, appearance, and language, while student responses show an increase in interest and interaction. The integration of local culture also strengthens character and cultural appreciation. Thus, this media is effective and contextual in Arabic language learning in the digital age.

Abstract

Lecturers, as educators and role models, play a strategic role in internalizing the values of religious tolerance within the academic environment. Higher education institutions function as multicultural and multireligious spaces, making it essential to ensure that these values are effectively implemented in teaching practices and interpersonal interactions on higher education. This study aims to identify best practices employed by lecturers in fostering an inclusive learning atmosphere for students from diverse religious backgrounds. The research applied a qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and literature review, conducted at Lambung Mangkurat University and the Islamic University of Kalimantan (UNISKA). The findings indicate that religious tolerance in both universities develops more significantly through practical implementation in academic culture, lecturers' professional ethics, and daily interactions within the university community, rather than through formal regulations. The fairness demonstrated by lecturers and the diversity among students constitute important social capital for cultivating an inclusive academic environment. Despite challenges such as the potential for sensitive religious jokes, differing interpretations, and the influence of external socio-political issues, continuous reinforcement through character education, interfaith dialogue, and institutional commitment is necessary to ensure that tolerance is not only preserved but also strengthened as a model of multicultural education to be emulated by other universities.   Keywords: Religious Tolerance; Dynamics; Academic Environment; Higher Education

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of leverage, profitability, firm size, audit quality, and tax avoidance on the Propensity earnings management, with independent commissioners as a moderating variable in mining sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2021–2024 period. This research employs a quantitative approach using a census method, in which all mining companies listed on the IDX during the study period, totaling 54 firms, were included as the research sample. The data were analyzed using panel data regression with the Random Effect Model (REM), which was selected based on the Chow test and the Hausman test. The earnings management was measured using discretionary accruals based on the Kasznik (1999) model, which represents the degree of a firm’s tendency to engage/Propensity in earnings management practices. The results indicate that leverage and tax avoidance have a positive effect on Propensity earnings management, suggesting an increase in the propensity (tendency) of management to engage in earnings management practices. Conversely, profitability, firm size, and audit quality have a negative effect on Propensity earnings management, indicating that firms with better financial performance and stronger monitoring mechanisms tend to exhibit a lower of Propensity earnings management. Furthermore, independent commissioners are found to weaken the relationship between leverage, profitability, firm size, audit quality, and Propensity earnings management; however, they do not moderate the relationship between tax avoidance and Propensity earnings management. This study confirms that financial factors and corporate governance mechanisms play an important role in influencing earnings management practices in the mining sector. The presence of independent commissioners is proven to be an effective monitoring mechanism in reducing the Propensity earnings management, except in the context of tax avoidance practices. These findings provide important implications for investors, regulators, and management in evaluating the quality of financial reporting and the effectiveness of good corporate governance.

Abstract

The low interest of students in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI), especially in the indicator of "preferring statements", is an important concern in the world of education today. Minimal interaction with the material, limited variety of learning activities, and the dominant use of conventional methods that are one-way are the main factors in the low enthusiasm for learning of students. This study aims to determine the effect of the Auditor Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model on students' interest in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung. The AIR model emphasizes three main aspects, namely Auditory (listening), Intellectually (thinking), and Repetition (repetition) which are designed to encourage active and enjoyable student involvement. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a post-test only control group design. The research sample was selected through simple random sampling, consisting of two classes: the experimental class (VII 3) which received the AIR model treatment and the control class (VII 5) with conventional learning. The research instrument was a non-test questionnaire with a Likert scale on the indicator of "preferring statements". Data were analyzed using a pooled variance t-test after meeting normality and homogeneity requirements. The results showed a significant effect of the AIR model with a significance value of 0.000, indicating that this model was effective in increasing interest in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI).

Abstract

Chemistry learning, especially the topic of hybridization, is often considered difficult by students because the concepts are abstract and cannot be clearly visualized through 2D textbook images. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Student Worksheets (LKPD) accompanied by a Hybridization Kit (Hy-KIT) through the Discovery Learning model. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The sample (N=72) was selected using purposive sampling and consisted of a control class (36 students) that used conventional worksheets (LKS) and an experimental class (36 students) that used LKPD with Hy-KIT. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a Nonrandomized Control Pretest–Posttest design. Data were collected through validated essay-type pretest and posttest questions. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of the 3D Hy-KIT media, which provides a real visualization of orbital shapes, with the Discovery Learning model. This combination serves as an alternative learning tool to significantly enhance students’ understanding of this abstract material. The results showed that both classes experienced improvement, but the experimental class demonstrated higher learning gains than the control class. The Effect Size (ES) calculation produced a value of 0.6, which falls into the medium category, indicating that the LKPD accompanied by Hy-KIT is effective in improving students’ understanding of hybridization concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically examine the influence of Debt Default, Company Growth, Solvency, and Audit Delay on the acceptance of the Going Concern audit opinion. It also evaluates the role of Auditor Reputation as a moderating variable in strengthening or weakening the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The population consists of all hotel, resort, and cruise ship companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2019–2023 period, totaling 30 companies. This study uses secondary data obtained from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, with sample selection conducted using the census sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out using Eviews software. The results indicate that Debt Default (X1), Company Growth (X2), and Solvency (X3) have a positive and significant effect on Going Concern Audit Opinion (Y). Meanwhile, Audit Delay (X4) has a negative but insignificant effect. Furthermore, Auditor Reputation (Z) significantly moderates the relationship between Solvency (X3) and Going Concern Audit Opinion (Y) with a weakening moderation effect, but does not significantly moderate the effects of Debt Default (X1), Company Growth (X2), and Audit Delay (X4).
