Abstract

Introduction: Stunting remains a pressing public health concern in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas. This study aimed to comprehensively analyze the multidimensional risk factors associated with stunting in rural South Sumatra, considering socio-demographic, maternal, and child-related factors. Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted in rural villages of South Sumatra. Children aged 6-59 months were enrolled, and data on socio-demographic characteristics, maternal health, child feeding practices, and anthropometric measurements were collected. Stunting was defined as height-for-age Z-score <-2SD according to the WHO growth standards. Multivariable logistic regression was employed to identify independent risk factors for stunting. Results: A total of 520 children were included in the study. The prevalence of stunting was 32.5%. In the multivariable analysis, factors significantly associated with stunting included low maternal education (OR: 2.87, 95% CI: 1.72-4.78), poor household wealth index (OR: 3.12, 95% CI: 1.95-4.97), inadequate dietary diversity (OR: 2.45, 95% CI: 1.53-3.92), and suboptimal breastfeeding practices (OR: 2.01, 95% CI: 1.25-3.23). Conclusion: This study highlights the multidimensional nature of stunting risk factors in rural South Sumatra. Interventions addressing maternal education, poverty alleviation, improved child feeding practices, and breastfeeding promotion are crucial to effectively combat stunting in this region.

Abstract

Introduction: Partial anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) ruptures present a complex clinical challenge. Traditional treatment options, including conservative management and surgical reconstruction, often yield unpredictable outcomes and extended recovery periods. This case report explores the potential of activated growth factors (AGF), an advanced platelet-rich plasma (PRP) modality, as a novel biological treatment strategy for partial ACL tears. Case presentation: A 39-year-old male presented with right knee pain and instability following a twisting injury sustained during exercise. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) confirmed a partial tear of the anteromedial bundle of the ACL. The patient was treated with a series of three intra-articular injections of AGF, administered at weekly intervals. The AGF was prepared using a proprietary protocol aimed at optimizing growth factor concentration and release. The patient's progress was meticulously monitored through clinical evaluations and functional assessments at 3 and 6 months post-treatment. Conclusion: This case suggests that AGF may offer a promising alternative for the treatment of partial ACL tears, potentially facilitating accelerated healing and improved clinical outcomes. Further research, including controlled trials, is warranted to validate these findings and establish the efficacy and safety of AGF in a larger patient population.

Abstract

Background. Information and communication technology development has brought significant changes in how learning is carried out, primarily through e-learning platforms. From the introduction of u-learning (ubiquitous learning) that allows access to learning anywhere and anytime to the emergence of adaptive learning systems driven by artificial intelligence (AI), this evolution continues to change the educational landscape. Purpose. This study examines the evolution of e-learning platforms from u-learning to AI-based adaptive learning systems. The main focus is understanding how each development phase has improved learning effectiveness and met individual learning needs. Method. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature study methods. Data was gathered from various academic sources, including journals, books, and conference reports discussing the evolution of e-learning. Thematic analysis is used to identify critical patterns and trends in developing e-learning platforms. Results. The results show that the evolution of e-learning has brought significant improvements in accessibility, interactivity, and personalization of learning. U-learning allows for more flexible access to education. At the same time, AI-based adaptive learning systems offer a more personalized learning experience by tailoring teaching materials and methods according to student’s needs and abilities. These findings emphasize the importance of technology in improving learning effectiveness and efficiency. Conclusion. The study concludes that e-learning platforms have evolved significantly from u-learning to AI-based adaptive learning systems, improving learning quality and effectiveness. Integrating AI in e-learning offers excellent potential for creating more personalized and compelling learning experiences. Recommendations for follow-up research include further exploring the long-term impact of adaptive learning systems and developing more advanced technologies to support more inclusive and efficient learning.

Abstract

Noise in electronic components of computed tomography (CT) detectors behaves like a virus that infects visual quality of CT scans and might distort clinical diagnosis. Modern CT detector technology incorporates high-quality electronic components in conjunction with signal and image processing to ensure optimal image quality while retaining benign doses of x-rays. In this study, a new strategy in signal and image processing directions is proposed by finding the most optimal wavelet base for denoising low-dose CT scan data. The process begins by selecting the appropriate wavelet bases for CT image denoising, followed by a wavelet decomposition, thresholding, and reconstruction. Other methods, such as graph wavelet and learning-based, are used to assess the consistency of the outcomes. The wavelet base of biorthogonal 5.5 achieves the highest optimum performance for CT image denoising. Meanwhile, the Daubechies wavelet base is inconsistent and performs poorly compared to the optimum base. This research highlights the importance of wavelet properties such as orthogonality, regularity, and the number of vanishing moments in selecting an appropriate wavelet basis for noise reduction in CT images.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of utilization of basic facilities at the Lambada Fishing Port, Aceh Besar. This study was located at the Lambada Fishing Port, Aceh Besar. The data taken in this study were secondary data, this data was taken directly at the Lambada Fishing Port management office, namely data on fishing gear, catches, fishing fleets and facilities at the port. While primary data was taken directly at the Lambada Fishing Port using questionnaires, observations and interviews. The interview method used was the purposive sampling method. Analysis of basic facilities at the Lambada Fishing Port was carried out by calculating the level of facility utilization. The results showed that the Lambada Fishing Port has an area of 1 Ha. The pier which is 400m long, the utilization rate only reached 70,75%. The area of the port pool is 3 Ha, but the utilization rate is only 3%. The depth of the port pool is also not optimal when viewed from the number of fishing boat fleets that have run aground when anchored at the Lambada Fishing Port. The strategy that can be suggested is to improve the facilities and infrastructure according to the needs and provisions to support good fisheries activities
