Abstract

Noise in electronic components of computed tomography (CT) detectors behaves like a virus that infects visual quality of CT scans and might distort clinical diagnosis. Modern CT detector technology incorporates high-quality electronic components in conjunction with signal and image processing to ensure optimal image quality while retaining benign doses of x-rays. In this study, a new strategy in signal and image processing directions is proposed by finding the most optimal wavelet base for denoising low-dose CT scan data. The process begins by selecting the appropriate wavelet bases for CT image denoising, followed by a wavelet decomposition, thresholding, and reconstruction. Other methods, such as graph wavelet and learning-based, are used to assess the consistency of the outcomes. The wavelet base of biorthogonal 5.5 achieves the highest optimum performance for CT image denoising. Meanwhile, the Daubechies wavelet base is inconsistent and performs poorly compared to the optimum base. This research highlights the importance of wavelet properties such as orthogonality, regularity, and the number of vanishing moments in selecting an appropriate wavelet basis for noise reduction in CT images.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of physical condition on volleyball smash skills. This research method uses quantitative methods with descriptive correlational research design. The number of samples used in this study were 14 students at SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang. The population in this study were all extracurricular students of SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang. The results of statistical analysis of the prerequisite test (normality test) obtained a physical condition value of 0.989 with a significant level of 0.999 or 0.999> 0.05 and a smash skill value of 0.946 with a significant level of 0.498 or 0.498> 0.05, so it can be said that the physical condition value and smash skill value are normally distributed. The results of the linearity test of physical condition data on smash skills with an F value of 2.670 and a significant level of 0.447 are greater than α 0.05, so it is said to be linear. From the results of the regression test data analysis, the F value is 22.324 and the significance value is 0.000. Because the calculated F value (22.324)> (4.725) and the significance value is smaller than 0.05 (0.000 <0.05), then H1 is accepted which indicates that physical condition has a significant influence on students' extracurricular smash skills. It is concluded that physical condition has a significant role in students' volleyball smash skills at SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang.

Abstract

The relocation of the capital city of Indonesia from Jakarta to East Kalimantan is a strategic policy that presents various challenges, including complex political conflicts. This conflict involves the rejection by indigenous communities regarding land rights, concerns about environmental impacts, and the lack of public participation in the decision-making process. This research aims to examine the role of communication in managing the political conflicts arising from this policy. Through the application of Conflict Theory by Littlejohn, Constructive Controversy by Peter T. Coleman, and the Theory of Cooperation and Competition by Morton Deutsch, this research analyzes the role of communication in alleviating conflicts, building cooperation, and achieving consensus among stakeholders. This research applies the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to identify studies related to political communication and conflict resolution in the context of public policy during the period 2022–2024. The research findings indicate that public resistance can be attributed to the inadequacy of inclusive narratives and the lack of participatory dialogue. A communication approach that prioritizes collaboration through constructive dialogue and narratives reflecting shared interests has the potential to transform destructive conflicts into more productive negotiation processes. The conclusion drawn from this study is a recommendation for the implementation of clearer communication strategies, involving all parties, and focusing on collaboration to create agreements among stakeholders.
