Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of non-financial rewards on employee motivation using a Reflective-Formative Hierarchical Component Model (HCM) approach. Non-financial rewards have become increasingly important in modern human resource management as organizations recognize that financial compensation alone is insufficient to sustain long-term employee motivation. This research addresses a critical gap in the literature by conceptualizing non-financial rewards as a multidimensional higher-order construct comprising Recognition and Appreciation, Career Development Opportunity, Work Flexibility, and Supportive Work Environment. Data were collected from 162 active employees in Indonesia through an online self-administered questionnaire using purposive sampling. Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with a Two-Stage Approach was employed to analyze the data. The results indicate that Non-Financial Rewards have a positive and significant influence on Employee Motivation (β = 0.611; t = 15.070; p = 0.000), with a large effect size (f² = 0.597). Recognition and Appreciation (weight = 0.601; p = 0.000) and Supportive Work Environment (weight = 0.338; p = 0.012) significantly contribute to the formation of Non-Financial Rewards, while Career Development Opportunity does not (weight = 0.246; p = 0.097). Work Flexibility was excluded from the model due to poor internal consistency (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.189). The model explains 37.4% of the variance in employee motivation (R² = 0.374) and demonstrates predictive relevance (Q²predict = 0.141–0.246). This study contributes to the Self-Determination Theory literature by empirically demonstrating how non-financial rewards collectively fulfill the basic psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness. The findings provide practical implications for organizations in designing effective non-financial reward systems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), and Non-Performing Loans (NPL) on Return on Assets (ROA) in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This research employed a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from the financial statements of banks that experienced losses during the 2022–2025 period. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique based on predetermined criteria, resulting in 20 observation samples. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS through descriptive statistical analysis, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results show that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has a positive and significant effect on Return on Assets (ROA). The Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) has a positive but insignificant effect on Return on Assets (ROA). Meanwhile, Non-Performing Loans (NPL) have a negative and significant effect on Return on Assets (ROA). These findings indicate that the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can improve banking profitability, while a high level of non-performing loans reduces profitability. Therefore, banks are expected to implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their operational activities, particularly in credit analysis, to reduce the level of non-performing loans and improve financial performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of product quality and service quality on customer satisfaction and their impact on customer loyalty toward the Uniqlo brand. The study is motivated by the increasingly competitive fashion industry, which requires companies not only to provide high-quality products but also to deliver superior services that enhance customer satisfaction and foster long-term loyalty. This research employed a quantitative explanatory approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 50 respondents using a consecutive sampling technique and analyzed using descriptive statistics and path analysis. The findings reveal that product quality has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction (β = 0.633; p < 0.001), while service quality also has a positive and significant effect (β = 0.331; p = 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables explain 82.1% of the variance in customer satisfaction (R² = 0.821). Furthermore, customer satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty (β = 0.815; p < 0.001), explaining 66.4% of the variance in customer loyalty (R² = 0.664). Customer satisfaction also mediates the relationship between product quality, service quality, and customer loyalty. The study concludes that strengthening customer loyalty requires companies to consistently maintain product and service quality in order to create customer satisfaction. Therefore, Uniqlo is recommended to strengthen product value communication, improve employees' product knowledge, and continuously enhance the overall shopping experience to sustain customer loyalty.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of service quality, customer satisfaction, and brand image on customer loyalty among Garuda Indonesia passengers at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. A quantitative causal design was employed, with primary data collected through online questionnaires from 100 respondents selected via accidental sampling. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results indicate that service quality (t = 5.696, sig = 0.000), customer satisfaction (t = 3.221, sig = 0.002), and brand image (t = 3.972, sig = 0.000) each have a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty. Furthermore, the simultaneous test (F = 28.983, sig = 0.000) confirms that all three variables collectively influence customer loyalty. The R-square value of 0.475 indicates that these variables explain 47.5% of the variance in customer loyalty, while the remaining 52.5% is influenced by other factors outside the model. These findings suggest that Garuda Indonesia should prioritize service quality enhancement, particularly in staff responsiveness and service consistency, while strengthening its premium brand image to foster long-term customer loyalty. This study contributes empirical evidence to the service marketing literature in the context of full-service airlines in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study integrates the three main pillars that determine the success of cultural adaptation and expatriate performance in multinational companies: Cultural Intelligence (CQ), Social Support (SS), and Expatriate Performance Management (EPM). Through a literature review of 13 empirical articles from 2018 to 2025 indexed in Q1–Q2 journals on Scopus and Web of Science, this study identifies two pathways to expatriate success: a full mediation pathway in which CQ and social support influence performance via cultural adaptation first (CQ/SS → cross-cultural adaptation → expatriate performance), and a direct effect pathway in which all three factors can directly influence performance without going through cultural adaptation (CQ/SS/CCA → performance). Key findings indicate that motivational CQ has the strongest influence on work adjustment, while family support—particularly from a spouse—has the greatest impact on overall expatriate adaptation. This study also reveals the principle of equifinality, whereby various combinations of factors can lead to optimal performance depending on boundary conditions such as cultural distance, perceived cultural novelty, and characteristics of the host country. Given that the expatriate failure rate is quite high—reaching 40%—investment in comprehensive cultural adaptation programs is a strategic necessity for multinational organizations. Managerial implications emphasize the need for a holistic approach that includes expatriate selection based on cultural intelligence profiles, multi-domain support programs involving the organization, supervisors, coworkers, and family, as well as a culturally relevant performance management system that involves multiple raters and balances global standards with the local context. This study contributes to the development of IHRM theory by integrating previously separate perspectives into a comprehensive framework, shifting the paradigm from simple cause-and-effect thinking to an understanding of complex systems in which cultural adaptation is viewed as the result of dynamic interactions among various interrelated elements.
