Abstract

The deterioration of primary school students' attitudes in the modern era is a significant concern, especially in the context of character education. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of the decline in the value of attitude of elementary school students and identify the factors that contribute to the decrease in the value of attitude of students in one elementary school. This research used a qualitative case study approach, with the research subjects consisting of a grade V teacher and students who experienced an attitudinal slump. Data were collected through observation and structured interviews and then analyzed using the interactive cycle analysis method. The instruments used were observation and interview sheets. The results showed that some students experienced attitudinal deterioration marked by dishonest behavior, indiscipline, and physical and verbal bullying. It can be concluded that the role of schools and parents is crucial in overcoming the problem of students' attitudinal deterioration. Schools should integrate character education into the curriculum and implement Social-Emotional Learning programs to help students manage emotions and build empathy. The findings of this study emphasize that the role of schools is not only limited to academic education but also character education, which needs to be implemented through a curriculum that emphasizes moral values and social-emotional learning.

Abstract

Writing narrative essays is one of the language skills that elementary school students must have. The use of interesting methods and media is used to stimulate students to develop narrative essay storylines. Several variations of learning strategies are offered so that students can develop their writing skills. This research aims to analyze learning strategies for writing narrative essays that are suitable for use in elementary schools. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The population of this research was carried out on class IV students as a data source. Data collection techniques include document analysis, questionnaires, observations and interviews. Based on the research results, the strategies used in learning to write narrative essays are not appropriate. Students have not been able to develop sentences in narrative essays based on the series of pictures presented. Lack of practice and lack of interest in reading are the dominant reasons why students are weak in writing.  The implications of this research are can provide new insights for teachers in designing and implementing writing lessons that are more effective and interesting for students. With narrative essay strategies, students can more easily develop their critical thinking skills and creativity through telling personal or imaginative experiences.

Abstract

Some teachers still need help understanding the new curriculum, namely independent learning. Through the teacher mobilization program, teachers need to continue developing themselves and improving their competencies to respond to these challenges well. This research aims to analyze the influence of the driving teacher program activities on increasing the pedagogical competence of driving teachers in elementary schools. This research uses quantitative research, survey methods and a correlational approach. The population and sample of this research is 30 people. This research was conducted using data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires. The techniques used to analyze data are quantitative descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results of this research show a significant relationship between the activities of the driving teacher program and increasing the pedagogical competence of elementary school-level driving teachers. The correlation coefficient value of 0.823 indicates a strong relationship between the two variables. Simple linear regression analysis shows that the driving teacher program activities have a significant influence on increasing the pedagogical competence of driving teachers. Every one-unit increase in teacher mobilization program activities contributes to increasing pedagogical competence. It was concluded that the driving teacher program activities could increase the pedagogical competence of elementary school-level driving teachers.

Abstract

One of the mathematics materials students considers difficult is integer material. This affects the results of AKM Numeracy, which is not optimal, especially in the number domain. This study aimed to develop a numeracy literacy-based mathematics test instrument on whole number material in grade V elementary school. This type of research is Research & Development with the development stages of the Thiagarajan 4D model (defining, designing, developing, and disseminating). The instruments developed include question grids as guidelines for making questions, questions and answer keys to test students' numeracy skills and scoring guidelines as a tool for giving student scores. The number of questions developed was three multiple-choice questions and seven complex multiple-choice questions. The principal and fifth-grade teacher validated this test instrument and obtained very valid results. The instrument was tested on fifth-grade students of SDN Kasembon 3 in the 2023/2024 school year and received the results of the item validity test getting a valid level on each item, the reliability test getting a high level, the differentiator test getting a sufficient and reasonable level, and the difficulty test getting an easy and moderate level. So, this numeracy literacy-based mathematics test instrument on integer material is feasible and can measure numeracy skills very well

Abstract

This study explores the development of religious character education in Indonesian elementary schools over the past five years (2019–2025). Utilizing a literature review method, the research analyzes a wide range of academic sources, including journal articles, books, and educational policy documents, to examine how religious values are integrated into school culture, curriculum, and learning practices. The findings reveal that religious character education plays a strategic role in shaping students’ moral and spiritual foundations, fostering values such as honesty, empathy, tolerance, and responsibility. Schools that successfully implement religious character education tend to embed religious practices into daily routines, promote teacher role modeling, and cultivate supportive environments aligned with national educational goals, including the Profil Pelajar Pancasila. However, several challenges persist, including inadequate teacher training, limited resources, curricular time constraints, and lack of parental and community involvement. Addressing these issues requires collaborative efforts among educators, policymakers, and stakeholders to ensure the effective and sustainable integration of religious character education. This study concludes that a holistic and context-sensitive approach is essential for advancing the moral development of students and strengthening their capacity to navigate ethical challenges in a pluralistic society.

Abstract

This study aimed to optimize the pedagogical knowledge and digital skills of elementary school teachers through a Digital Teaching Material (DTM) mentoring program. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this implementation study was conducted in three stages: needs identification, training and mentoring, and evaluation of results. The research subjects were elementary school teachers selected based on their active program involvement. Results showed significant improvements in technological mastery (26% to 87%), creativity in preparing DTMs (21% to 92%), and student participation (53% to 89%). Mentoring served as effective scaffolding to enhance teachers’ confidence in using technology. Constraints included limited infrastructure and the need for advanced training. This study recommends a sustainable mentoring model to systematically accelerate technology integration in basic education.
