Abstract

This research aims to determine the sodium nitrite content in dumplings in online stores based on differences in storage. The method used in this research is UV-Vis spectrophotometry with a maximum wavelength of 540 nm. The samples obtained from the online shop were two with different brands and were given the codes MT and CD. Samples in closed packaging that are still sealed are categorised as fresh samples and then tested for sodium nitrite content in the sample. Then, the remaining fresh samples were tested after being stored for 24 hours. The research results showed that the sodium nitrite content in fresh samples of different brands had different levels. Respectively, sodium nitrite levels with codes MT and CD were obtained at 9,890 mg/Kg and 15,545 mg/Kg. Samples that had undergone a 24-hour storage process with the MT and CD brands obtained 6,862 mg/Kg sodium nitrite contents and 13,209 mg/Kg. The sodium nitrite content in samples from different brands is still below the requirements set by the National Agency of Drug and Food Control of the Republic of Indonesia Regulation No. 11 of 2019 concerning food additives, namely 30 mg/Kg. This means that the sample is still categorised as suitable for consumption by the public. Fresh sample precision as %RPD for MT and CD brands is 7.030% and 6.954%. Meanwhile, sample precision after storage for the MT and CD brands was 8.382% and 1.921%, respectively. Thus, the precision in this test is declared to meet the acceptance requirements of <10%. The estimated uncertainty of the test for determining sodium nitrite levels in dumpling samples meets the acceptance requirements of <30% levels.

Abstract

Autonomous learning has been implemented in various disciplines. In English Language Teaching (ELT), implementing autonomous learning through multimedia oral presentation could be one of the major strategies to develop students’ language skills. This study aims to investigate the implementation of autonomous learning through a multimedia oral presentation as well as its challenges and obstacles fostering the significant development of language skills among students at an Islamic university. The study involved thirteen students majoring English Education regarded as students of the Z generation. The primary data was obtained through a video project-based multimedia oral presentation, a semi-structured interview with open-ended questions. The observation of the videos with note taking and comments on YouTube were used as secondary data. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, a content analysis technique was used to investigate to what extent the implementation of autonomous learning through a multimedia oral presentation develops students’ language skills. The study found that the students’ performances ranged from competent to somewhat competent in their vocabulary and content coverage; and competent to minimally competent in their grammatical accuracy, pronunciation, comprehensibility, and presentation skills. Implementing the students’ autonomous learning did not significantly develop their language skills due to students' lack of language proficiency, the absence of feedback,  technical challenges, time constraints, and motivation. This suggests that the implementation of students’ autonomous learning     with guidance is necessary to raise students’ language proficiency and minimize the obstacles and challenges, and various technological tools with technical and practical strategies should be familiarized with the students.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine and describe the influence of psycholinguistics and metacognition on the ability of physics education students to use verbal language in the learning process. Quantitative research is used to measure the level of influence between variables, and then the case study is used to determine the sample. Based on the data, it could be concluded that the ability of psycholinguistics had a positive correlation with language skills, with a correlation of 0.924 and a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05. Thus, it could be understood that there was a positive correlation between psycholinguistics toward language skills with a very strong correlation category. The correlation between metacognition and language skills was 0.874 with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, this article argues that the ability of psycholinguistics and metacognition, so the language skills of physics students in carrying out physics learning would be better. This meant that the two variables affected the verbal language skills in learning physics together and not separately. Because language skills are related to metacognitive abilities, including intellectual abilities, teachers need to consider the use of verbal language in the classroom for the cognitive development of students. To achieve this, a psycholinguistic skill development program was needed for physics education students and other prospective teacher students; they could use verbal language in both the declarative, imperative, and interrogative aspects appropriately and accurately.

Abstract

Abstract

Islamic education is an effort to develop an Islamic view of life, to be manifested in life and life skills (manual and mental-social) in harmony with their interests, talents, abilities and areas of expertise. the development of STAIN towards UIN seeks to capture ibrah, values, attitudes and ways of thinking and behaving scholars (scientists) in the classical period mentioned above, because it is considered capable of facing increasing and complicated challenges, caused by the rapid progress of science and technology . As an implication, the Islamic education system built and developed through UIN is expected to produce a rational and professional cleric; broad-minded; virtuous noble character; his knowledge is not limited to "religious science" alone, but also includes "general science"; and able to stand alone (independent). Challenges to be anticipated by future UIN leaders, as well as the managers and developers of departments /courses in it, not to get caught up in the "ka 'adamihi" (presence as absence) in the midst of the struggles and competitions among the various the surrounding college.
