Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to develop a pop-up book as an educational medium to introduce sexual education concepts appropriately to children aged 5–6 years, in order to support their understanding of body awareness, personal boundaries, and safe behavior from an early age. Design/methods/approach – This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach utilizing the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) proposed by Thiagarajan, et al., though the study was limited to the development phase. Primary data were collected through expert validation and practitioner feedback using structured validity and practicality instruments. The validity instrument assessed three domains: graphic design feasibility, content relevance, and media suitability. The practicality instrument evaluated media usability from the perspectives of content clarity and instructional effectiveness. Findings – The developed pop-up book media obtained a validity score of 76.33%, indicating a valid category, and a practicality score of 81.33%, indicating a highly practical category. These results confirm that the media is both pedagogically sound and feasible for implementation in early childhood learning contexts, particularly for delivering sensitive topics such as sexual education in a developmentally appropriate and engaging manner. Research implications/Limitations – This study is limited to the development phase; thus, future research is recommended to explore the effectiveness of the pop-up book in improving children's knowledge, attitudes, and protective behaviors related to sexual education through experimental or longitudinal studies. Originality/value – This study presents an innovative, developmentally appropriate approach to introducing sexual education through pop-up book media, offering a practical solution for early childhood educators to address sensitive topics in an engaging and culturally respectful manner.

Abstract

Language, moral, and psychosocial development during adolescence constitutes a critical phase in shaping character and identity, thereby requiring educational approaches that can integrate these three aspects to support adolescents in facing physical, cognitive, and social developmental challenges. This article aims to theoretically analyze the relationships among language, moral, and psychosocial development in adolescents and their implications for educational practice. The study employs a literature review method through stages of collecting, identifying, classifying, and critically analyzing relevant scholarly sources. The analytical process includes a review of the basic concepts of language, moral, and psychosocial development, as well as their interconnections in the context of adolescent development. The findings indicate that language functions not only as a medium of communication but also as a tool for moral reasoning that mediates the internalization of values and ethical decision-making, while psychosocial development is strongly influenced by social interactions and environmental factors, including family, school, and the wider community. The discussion underscores the need for integrative educational approaches so that the development of language, moral, and psychosocial aspects can proceed synergistically, enabling adolescents to grow into intellectually competent, morally grounded, and psychosocially healthy individuals who are capable of navigating social dynamics in the era of globalization. Accordingly, learning practices that combine the strengthening of language competence, the cultivation of moral values, and psychosocial support emerge as key strategies to promote holistic adolescent development.

Abstract

The use of frameworks in research is important, because with it the research to be carried out gets the right direction and a clear position. However, many studies do not use the framework in their implementation or use it but not in depth. This article aims to analyze the role, relevance, and development of frameworks in the cross-disciplinary scientific literature. The framework is understood as a conceptual foundation that connects theories, methodologies, and findings so as to maintain research coherence. This study uses a literature study design by examining articles from accredited national and international journals. Data were collected through the search of various academic databases and analyzed using a thematic approach to identify patterns of conceptualization, relevance, and forms of adaptation of frameworks in various disciplines. The results of the study show that the framework functions strategically in strengthening theoretical foundations, sharpening the identification of research gaps, and guiding the design of contextual and innovative research models. This study confirms that the development of a framework that is adaptive to social, cultural, and disciplinary contexts is key to maintaining relevance and increasing scientific contribution in the midst of the dynamics of knowledge development.

Abstract

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education is a consciously designed and implemented effort to foster and care for students so that they are able to understand all aspects of Islamic teachings, internalize them in life goals, and then practice them in everyday life so that Islam becomes a way of life. The purpose of this study is to determine learning theories that are always closely related to the realm of psychology because discussing the learning process means discussing humans as individuals. The type of research used in this study is a qualitative research type with a descriptive analysis approach through library research. The results of the study show that according to Ivan Pavlov, the classical conditioning theory explains that new reflexes can be formed by presenting certain stimuli before the reflex appears. In the context of education, providing stimuli in the form of awards or prizes to students can increase their learning motivation. According to Skinner, operant conditioning is a form of conditioning where individuals produce responses or behaviors (called operants), which are learned through reinforcement from the environment. Operants can be words or actions that arise as a result of interaction with external situations. According to Albert Bandura, social learning theory in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. This theory focuses on learning through observation (observational learning), where students learn by observing the behavior, attitudes, and outcomes experienced by the observed model. The integration of these two approaches (Classical and Operant Conditioning) provides practical advantages in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah: classical conditioning helps build emotional readiness and religious routines, while operant conditioning strengthens and maintains moral habits through well-designed consequences.

Abstract

Literature has a fundamental role in the academic world, especially at the master's and doctoral levels, as the foundation for scientific development. However, in the digital era marked by a flood of information, the assessment of the quality and credibility of literature has become increasingly complex. Researchers and students are not only required to find relevant sources, but also trustworthy and high-quality sources. This challenge is exacerbated by the rise of predatory journals, scientific disinformation, publication pressure, and an over-reliance on metrics such as the Impact Factor, which has the potential to obscure the scientific quality of a work. This article aims to explain and dissect the criteria and techniques in assessing the quality and credibility of scientific literature. In addition, this study also aims to compare the characteristics of academic sources with popular literature to help researchers choose the right and scientifically responsible sources. This study uses a literature study approach with descriptive analysis of various academic literature sources that discuss the assessment of the quality of scientific publications. Data were obtained from books, reputable journal articles, and relevant academic guidelines, then analyzed to identify criteria and techniques for evaluating the literature. The results of the discussion show that the assessment of the quality of literature needs to be carried out comprehensively by considering the credibility of the author, the reputation of the publisher, the peer review process, the relevance of the content, and the methodological context. The practical implication of this research is the availability of conceptual and technical guidance for researchers and students in facing literary challenges in the digital era, so as to maintain research integrity and improve the quality of scientific work.
