Abstract

This study explores the relationship between corporate legal compliance and public service quality in the public sector through a systematic literature review approach. Legal compliance is recognized as a fundamental element of good governance, ensuring that public institutions operate within regulatory frameworks that promote accountability, transparency, and fairness. At the same time, public service quality reflects the effectiveness of government institutions in meeting citizens’ expectations, often measured through dimensions such as reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibility. The findings of this review indicate that legal compliance plays a significant role in shaping service quality by establishing standardized procedures, reducing risks of maladministration, and enhancing institutional trust. However, the relationship is not purely linear, as it is influenced by organizational factors such as leadership, institutional culture, human resource capacity, and the integration of digital technologies. While compliance mechanisms such as audits and regulatory controls improve procedural accountability, they may not always guarantee improved service outcomes if applied rigidly. This study concludes that legal compliance is a necessary but insufficient condition for achieving high-quality public services. A balanced approach that combines regulatory adherence with flexibility, innovation, and citizen-centered practices is essential. Future research is encouraged to develop integrative models and empirical analyses to strengthen the linkage between compliance and service quality. Abstract

The limited utilization of residential yards has become a challenge for households in achieving environmental greening and food security. Many families leave their yards unused, resulting in lost opportunities for ecological and economic benefits. This community service program was designed to address the issue by encouraging residents to cultivate productive plants in their yards. The intervention involved distributing chili and eggplant seedlings, providing training on planting techniques, and conducting continuous monitoring of plant growth. Implementation steps included initial surveys of yard conditions, coordination with neighborhood leaders to determine seed requirements, seed distribution to households, training sessions on cultivation and maintenance, and follow-up observations to evaluate progress. The outcomes showed that residents began to use vacant land more effectively, creating greener and healthier surroundings. In addition, households gained supplementary food sources from their own harvests, contributing to family food security. This program demonstrates that simple interventions such as seed distribution and mentoring can foster sustainable environmental practices, strengthen community resilience, and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

Abstract

This study examines the role of Islamic Religious Education in building awareness of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a systematic literature review approach. The research aims to identify the contributions of Islamic Religious Education toward sustainability awareness, analyze dominant themes within recent scholarly discussions, and explore how Islamic educational values support the achievement of SDGs. The study employed a qualitative systematic literature review method by collecting and analyzing academic publications published between 2020 and 2026 from reputable scholarly databases and journals. The selected literature was screened based on relevance, credibility, and thematic suitability concerning Islamic education and sustainable development. A total of 32 academic works were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify recurring concepts and research trends. The findings reveal that Islamic Religious Education significantly contributes to sustainability awareness through environmental ethics, religious moderation, character education, social responsibility, and curriculum transformation. Islamic teachings such as khalifah (stewardship), justice (‘adl), moderation (wasatiyyah), and compassion (rahmah) were found to align closely with the principles of sustainable development. The review also indicates that Islamic educational institutions increasingly integrate sustainability-oriented values into educational practices, environmental programs, and social engagement activities. However, the study identified challenges related to limited empirical implementation and the dominance of conceptual approaches within existing research. This study contributes to the growing discourse connecting Islamic education and sustainable development by providing a comprehensive synthesis of recent literature and highlighting the strategic role of Islamic Religious Education in promoting environmentally conscious, socially responsible, and ethically grounded global citizens.
