Abstract

With 3.3 billion population worldwide is employed, several occupational disease (OD) and injuries ensued. Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) is one among many ODs that hold high percentages among workers, and low back pain (LBP) raises as the main type of commonly found MSDs. This study aimed to investigates the relationship between the ergonomic risk factors and LBP complaints among home tailors at Desa Tembok Kidul Kecamatan Adiwerna Kabupaten Tegal, one of the host of home-tailors basis in Central Java. This descriptive correlative study using a cross sectional approach employed 139 home tailors as sample, selected with simple random sampling technique. A set of questionnaire was used and grouped into 3 part mainly measured the participants’ characteristics, ergonomic risk factors, and lastly LBP complaints. Validity and Reliability procedures proved the main two questionnaires were valid and reliable to use. With the main participants being a female (64,7%), most of them were coming from the young adults (64%), elementary school graduates (35,5%), the results of this study showed that there is no significant association between ergonomic risk factors and LBP complaints (p=1,000; α =0,05). However, this study emphasized that tailors with low ergonomic risk factors were less likely to have complaints of LBP than tailors with high ergonomic risk factors. Some possible ergonomic factors that goes along the growing number of LBP complaints are age, gender, and working duration. This study suggests to focus on one specific type of ergonomic risk factors to work with, while preventive measure on ergonomic-friendly working environment is advocated to alleviate the risk of OD.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the suitability of contextual learning materials in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with document analysis techniques. Data were obtained from PAI learning materials used in secondary schools and compared with the applicable curriculum standards. The results indicate that most learning materials have integrated students’ real-life context; however, some content still needs to be adjusted to be more relevant and applicable. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for teachers and curriculum developers in improving the quality of contextual PAI learning materials.

Abstract

Background of study: Kinesthetic skills are an important aspect of early childhood development, but at the Pembina Arga Makmur State Kindergarten, there are still children who have difficulty running, jumping, and throwing balls. Aims and scope of paper: The purpose of this study is to understand how obstacle course activities affect the kinaesthetic abilities of Arga Makmur Kindergarten students, ages 5 to 6. Methods: The research methodology utilized a two-group pretest-posttest experimental design and a quantitative method. Out of the 48 preschoolers in the population, 24 children made up the sample. They were split into two groups at random: the experimental group and the control group. An independent sample t-test was used to assess the data after it was gathered through tests and observation. Result: The analysis results indicated a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a substantial disparity in gross motor abilities between children who took part in the obstacle course and those who did not. Conclusion: Obstacle course games have a positive effect on improving children's gross motor skills. Obstacle course games can be used for physical learning activities with obstacles to train early childhood skills.

Abstract

Introduction: This study evaluated the effectiveness of a Virtual Reality (VR)-based emotional regulation intervention in addressing bullying among school adolescents, focusing on changes in self-perceived roles as victims or bullies and associated difficulties. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design, with 98 junior high school students assigned to either a four-session VR intervention (n=33) or a no-treatment control group (n=65). The intervention consisted of four 15-minute psychotherapy sessions using the PeriXa Batin VR module. Data were collected using the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire and System Usability Scale (SUS). Statistical analyses included the Mann-Whitney U test, a General Linear Model (GLM), and thematic analysis. Results: The intervention was associated with a significant reduction in self-perceived bullying behaviors (p < 0.001), particularly among males. However, it also led to an increase in self-reported difficulty scores (p < 0.005). The VR module was received positively, with high usability ratings, although some participants reported minor technical issues and temporary discomfort, such as dizziness. The VR intervention effectively fostered self-awareness, which may explain both the reduction in bullying and the concurrent increase in emotional distress as victims confronted their experiences. The limitations include short intervention duration, small sample size, and reliance on self-reported data. Conclusions: While VR is a promising tool, schools should implement it alongside support systems, such as counseling, to help students manage the challenges of increased self-awareness. Future research should focus on the long-term effects and integration of such technologies into comprehensive school wellness programs.

Abstract

In the era of rapid technological advancement, the conventional use of smartphones has undergone a transformative paradigm shift. The presence of Apple's iPhone has become a significant entity surpassing mere communication functions. This research explores the dynamics linking social comparison, peer pressure, consumer innovativeness, and user satisfaction in the context of iPhone usage. Engaging 319 iPhone users in Indonesia through a comprehensive online survey, data was collected, and 150 respondents met the specified criteria. The study employs Partial Least Squares analysis using the SmartPLS4 software. Empirical findings reveal a positive correlation between social comparison and peer pressure, exerting a substantial influence on consumer innovativeness. Interestingly, social comparison also has a positive impact on consumer happiness. However, the research finds that while peer pressure significantly contributes to consumer innovativeness, it does not affect consumer happiness. This investigation underscores the crucial role of social comparison and peer pressure in shaping consumer innovativeness and happiness. The study elucidates the complex interaction between psychological and social factors. By understanding the desire to differentiate oneself and seek social acceptance, this research enhances our understanding of consumer decision-making in iPhone usage, facilitating diverse perspectives on technology as a crucial element in social identity construction.
