Abstract

The elderly, or senior citizens, are a group of individuals who have reached old age. People in this age group are usually more susceptible to health problems. Calcium is a nutrient that is essential for the body and is the most abundant mineral found in the body, accounting for approximately 1.5-2% of an adult's body weight or about 1kg. Insufficient or excessive calcium intake can lead to abnormal metabolism. Calcium deficiency can result in osteoporosis and hypocalcemia, while excess calcium can cause hypercalcemia. The purpose of this study is to determine the calcium (Ca) levels in the elderly at the "Budi Sejahtera" Social Protection and Rehabilitation Home for the Elderly in South Kalimantan Province. The research design used in this study is a descriptive survey, which is a method used to describe or analyze research findings but not to draw broader conclusions. The calcium levels in the elderly were measured using a cross-sectional design, which observes population or sample data only once at the same time. The sampling was conducted on June 10, 2023. The sample used was blood from the elderly at the "Budi Sejahtera" Social Protection and Rehabilitation Home for the Elderly in South Kalimantan Province, with purposive sampling technique, which is a sampling technique based on specific criteria, resulting in 30 participants out of 69. The calcium levels (Ca) of the 30 respondents were calculated to have a mean of 6.81mg/dl, a maximum of 10.80 mg/dl, and a minimum of 3.30 mg/dl. The results showed that 21 respondents had low calcium levels, 8 respondents had normal levels, and 1 respondent had high calcium levels. Based on the characteristics of the 30 respondents, there were 18 male and female respondents in the younger age group (60-74 years), and 3 respondents in the older age group (75-95 year).

Abstract

This research is a development research which aims to develop a valid, practical and effective IPAS teaching module based on Project Based Learning (PjBL). The development model used is the 4-D development model which consists of four stages, namely defining, designing, developing and deploying. The teaching module developed was validated by two experts, then tested on 37 students of class X Pharmacy at SMK Negeri 1 Polewali. The results of the research show that the developed module meets the criteria of validity, practicality and effectiveness. The module is said to be valid based on the results of module validation with an average value of 3.73 in the very valid category. The module is said to be practical based on (1) the implementation of the module by two observers in the learning process with a score of 1.82 in the fully implemented category; (2) the teacher's response to the developed teaching modules obtained an average score of 94 in the very practical category; and (3) student responses with an average score of 89.75 in the very practical category. The module is said to be effective based on the results of the analysis of student learning outcomes tests with a class completeness percentage of 94.59%. The developed module contains covers, initial competencies, core components, learning activities, and assessments.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess and evaluate the influence of work experience, autonomy, honesty, competence and audit ethics on the audit quality of the public accounting firm in Makassar city. This method of analysis used in the study is quantitative with primary data sources, which are data collected by administering questionnaires directly without intermediaries. Multiple linear regression analysis was used using the t-test to prove and evaluate this. There were 48 respondents to the number of samples in this report. The validity test, reliability test, normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, multiple linear regression test, coefficient determination test, t-test, and f test were used for data analysis. The conclusion of this analysis is that there is a positive and important influence of work experience on the consistency of audits. Freedom has a positive and powerful influence on the consistency of audits. Integrity has a positive and meaningful influence on the consistency of audits. Competence has a positive and important effect on the quality of the audit, and Auditor Ethics has a positive and important impact on the quality of the audit.

Abstract

This PKM program will be implemented in Borisallo Village, Parangloe District, Gowa Regency which has a lot of potential natural resources. so it is important to manage village assets. The establishment of BUMDesa is intended not only to become a driving force for the wheels of the village economy but also to serve as a source of village income. For this reason, village financial management must be handled professionally. As a village financial institution that runs a financial business that meets the needs of micro-scale businesses run by village economic entrepreneurs, BUMDesa is required to make financial reports for all BUMDesa business units. every month honestly and transparently. BUMDesa is also required to provide progress reports on BUMDesa business units to village communities through village meetings at least twice a year. Therefore, it is necessary to provide financial administration technical guidance skills to the Borisallo Village Owned Enterprise (BUMDesa). The activities that will be developed in this PKM program are assistance in increasing the knowledge of Village-Owned Enterprises by conducting technical guidance on village financial administration so that BUMDesa can expand their types of business in managing Borisallo Village assets so as to increase BUMDesa income. With this PKM program, partner groups will be empowered, so they are able to access their potential. Meanwhile, the approach being developed is a learning by doing approach. From the results of this PKM activity, partners (Employees of BUMDes Borisallo) have understood the potential of village assets to be used as a source of village income and recorded simple financial management as a basis for reports to the community.

Abstract

Pollewani Village is one of the areas in Tutar District, Polewali Mandar Regency, which has the largest and most remote administrative area in the regency, and therefore receives less attention from the regency government. This area has significant potential for dryland rice, with productivity reaching 3.97 tons per hectare in 2023. However, this yield is still much lower than that of wetland rice, corn, and cassava in the area. One solution to this problem is technological innovation, primarily through farmer training and the provision of modern facilities and infrastructure. By improving farmers' skills in dryland rice cultivation and introducing new superior varieties of rice seeds (Inpari-32), it is hoped that this will support the rate of increase in upland rice production in Pollewani Village. The implementation method includes providing interactive materials, practice in demonstration plots, and evaluation using questionnaires. The results indicate that this activity can increase farmers' knowledge, as evidenced by an increase in participants' average score from 33.33 to 70.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang muncul akibat dari tidak adanya pengetahuan mengenai literasi keuangan perlu untuk diminimalisir sejak dini. Pengetahuan literasi keuangan harus diberikan kepada peserta didik saat mereka sudah mengenal instrumen keuangan dan turunannya. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat tim Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya yaitu peningkatan literasi keuangan pada peserta didik SMP Negeri Satu Atap 8 Palangka Raya. Terdiri dari 39 orang dari 48 peserta didik dari semua tingkatan. Pendekatan yang digunakan terdiri dari kuantitatif dan kualitatif untuk mengungkap peningkatan literasi pada peserta didik melalui pre-test dan post-test, wawancara serta pengamatan melalui aktivitas bermain menentukan kebutuhan dan keinginan. Hasil yang didapatkan bahwa secara kuantitatif tidak ditemukan adanya peningkatan literasi keuangan dikarenakan kurangnya penjagaan saat menjawab pretest dan post-test.  Namun, jika menggunakan wawancara dan pengamatan melalui aktivitas bermain menentukan kebutuhan dan keinginan dapat digambarkan terdapat peningkatan dari literasi keuangan peserta didik di SMP Negeri Satu Atap 8 Palangka Raya. Abstract

Pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam di Sekolah Dasar sering terkendala oleh minimnya praktik langsung dan sub-optimalnya pemanfaatan KIT IPA yang tersedia, yang berakibat pada rendahnya keterampilan proses sains siswa. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam mengelola KIT IPA dan mendesain Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik  yang inovatif. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pelatihan aktif (hands-on workshop) dan pendampingan terpadu, dibagi menjadi sesi optimalisasi KIT IPA dan workshop perancangan LKPD Inkuiri Terbimbing bagi 20 guru mitra pada bulan Juli. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata skor pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru sebesar 21.9 poin (dari 61.5 menjadi 83.4). Selain itu, 90% guru berhasil menghasilkan LKPD Inovatif yang siap diimplementasikan. Kegiatan ini berhasil membekali guru dengan kompetensi ganda, yaitu penguasaan teknis alat dan pedagogi sains, sehingga mentransformasi guru dari sekadar pengguna alat menjadi kreator pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri.

Abstract

This study investigates the groundwater potential in the Le Cendekia Islamic Boarding School area, Gowa, using the Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) method with a Schlumberger configuration along a 240 m survey line. The work was motivated by recurring freshwater scarcity despite previous unsuccessful drilling attempts. Field measurements of current, potential difference, and electrode spacing were processed using Microsoft Excel and inverted with Progress software to generate a 1D true resistivity model. The apparent resistivity curve shows a steady increase with depth, indicating a transition from conductive near-surface materials to more resistive formations. The inversion results delineate nine subsurface layers, with the upper 25 m dominated by alluvium and wet clay that function as aquitards due to their low permeability. Below these units lies a conductive saturated clay layer that further restricts vertical groundwater flow. A significantly more resistive layer at approximately 25–30 m is interpreted as fractured or partially consolidated sandstone, suggesting enhanced permeability and potential groundwater storage. Based on these findings, the most favorable drilling depth for preliminary groundwater exploration is recommended at 25–30 m. This study provides essential baseline information to guide groundwater development in the Le Cendekia area.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of role-playing-based counseling services in enhancing empathy among children at Juvenile Rehabilitation Center Class I Martapura. Employing a quantitative approach, the research utilized a one-group pre-test post-test experimental design to measure changes in empathy levels before and after the intervention. A total of 32 children participated in the study. Data were collected using two instruments: the Empathy Scale and the Role-Playing Engagement Questionnaire. The intervention consisted of structured role-playing sessions designed to improve both cognitive and affective components of empathy. Data analysis using paired sample t-tests revealed a statistically significant increase in empathy scores, with the mean score rising from 151.53 to 157.34 (p < 0.05). These results suggest that role-playing shows promise as an effective method for enhancing empathy in juvenile rehabilitation settings. The findings underscore the potential of integrating experiential learning strategies into psychosocial interventions for institutionalized youth. Further research is recommended to examine contextual and individual factors that may influence the impact of such interventions.

Abstract

Ongkowa Hamlet Takalar is a settlement located approximately 500 m from the beach, where the local community still depends on wells at a depth of about 3-5 m as a source of clean water, so it has the potential to experience seawater intrusion. This study aims to analyze well water quality, the structure of the subsurface layer using the Wenner-Schlumberger resistivity method, and interpret the distribution of seawater intrusion based on resistivity and water quality data. In this study, resistivity measurements were carried out on 3 tracks using the GL-4100 Resistivity meter. Water quality testing on 4 water well samples and 1 seawater sample in the laboratory. The resistivity measurement point is located at a distance of 110-1712 meters from the coast, while the well water sampling point is 222-1813 meters from the coast. The results showed salinity levels of 74.348-376.74 mg/L, DHL 26.2-130.7 μS/cm, and TDS 20.9-104.3 mg/L. Well water at the study site is still classified as freshwater and eligible for consumption, with no indication of seawater intrusion. The subsurface lithology consists of limestone, sand and gravel, and basalt. Seawater intrusion was found in limestone with low resistivity at a depth of 3.85-6.75 m located 202 m from the coast, and at a depth of 2-15.9 m, located 100 m from the coast. Well water at a depth of about 3 m at a distance of 220 m from the coast is still classified as fresh water.
