Abstract

This quantitative descriptive study uses the ARIMA model approach to predict groundwater river water availability. It assesses its valuation with an econophysics orientation in the Leang Lonrong Cave area of TN Bantimurung Bulusaraung. Secondary data from 2010-2023, including Water Discharge and Water Level data from the River Basin Center of Pompengan Jeneberang (BBWS) and primary data on the Valuation of Willingness to Pay, were utilized. The analysis reveals that water discharge predictions (2024-2030) in the Gua Leang Lonrong area indicate consistent annual water availability, with the highest discharge projected in December 2030 (5.08 m3/s) and the lowest in September 2024 (1.12 m3/s). Valuation of utilizing Leang Lonrong River water through willingness to pay showed residents willing to pay Rp 42,142.85/month for clean water management. At the same time, visitors are willing to contribute Rp 21,596.77/visit to enhance water quality management. Elasticity analysis modeling water discharge with willingness to pay suggests a relatively elastic relationship, with a minor impact, indicating unresponsiveness to changes in water discharge percentages. Statistical and economic methods were employed to analyze daily water discharge patterns and evaluate residents' willingness to pay for underground river water utilization. The ARIMA model (0,1,1) forecasted future water discharge patterns with a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 33.7%. The study surveyed 62 respondents, finding an average willingness to pay approximately IDR 21,596.77 per visit to maintain Leang Lonrong River water quality management.

Abstract

Typhoid fever remains a significant public health concern in Indonesia, which has the third-highest global case rate, with 350–810 cases per 100,000 people and a fatality rate of 3.1–10.4%, primarily due to delayed diagnosis and treatment. Children aged 5–14 years are most affected, with transmission occurring via contaminated food, water, or poor hygiene. Salmonella typhi invades intestinal immune tissues (Peyer’s patches), triggering responses from T and B lymphocytes, though bacterial endotoxins can suppress bone marrow function, altering leukocyte levels. This study analyzed the relationship between Widal titer and lymphocyte counts in pediatric typhoid patients using a cross-sectional design. Data from 526 patients at Graha Medika Martapura Clinic and Ratu Zalecha Hospital (January 2023–February 2025) were analyzed statistically, with inclusion criteria of Widal titer ≥1/320 and complete blood count results. Results showed 18.8% of patients had elevated lymphocytes, 79.3% had normal levels, and 1.9% exhibited lymphocytopenia. Higher Widal titers (1/640) correlated with lower lymphocyte counts (15.8% elevated vs. 23.0% at 1/320), suggesting immune suppression mediated by IL-6 through specific signaling pathways. Paradoxically, some cases showed lymphocytosis (18.8%), likely due to cytokine-induced immune modulation. Statistical analysis revealed a minimal correlation (R²=0.006), indicating Widal titer explains only 0.6% of lymphocyte variation. These findings demonstrate that while Widal titer has limited predictive value for lymphocyte changes, immune response mechanisms, particularly involving IL-6, play a critical role in typhoid fever's hematological manifestations.

Abstract

This study aims to construct a digital literacy model grounded in Qur’anic epistemology as a response to the phenomenon of brain rot, defined as cognitive deterioration resulting from excessive exposure to superficial digital content. This issue presents a significant threat to the intellectual and spiritual well-being of society in the contemporary information age. Current digital literacy frameworks predominantly focus on technical competencies, often overlooking the epistemological and spiritual dimensions, thereby necessitating a more comprehensive and integrative approach. Employing a qualitative methodology based on library research and a descriptive-analytical approach, this study analyzes classical and contemporary Qur’anic exegeses (tafsīr) related to the concepts of Laghw (futility) and Tadabbur (deep reflection). These concepts are critically examined through an interdisciplinary lens incorporating insights from neuroscience, psychology, and media studies. The findings indicate that Laghw provides a diagnostic framework for understanding the cognitive and spiritual underpinnings of brain rot, whereas Tadabbur offers an epistemic remedy aimed at revitalizing reflective thought and enhancing self-regulation. The integration of these concepts culminates in the formulation of the “Qur’anic Digital Literacy Model,” which is structured around three fundamental pillars: Tabayyun Digital (information verification), Adab Digital (digital ethics), and Mujāhadah al-Nafs (self-restraint). This model aspires to cultivate the Ulu al-Albab personality type individuals who exemplify both knowledge and virtue. Theoretically, this framework contributes to the discourse on digital literacy from an Islamic epistemological perspective; practically, it offers actionable strategies for educators, parents, and individuals to promote healthier and more meaningful interactions with digital technology.
