Abstract

Reading comprehension is the most important part of reading ability. However, comprehension in reading cannot be achieved, because students cannot understand the reading material well. In addition, many students find it difficult to understand English texts and are lazy to look for appropriate strategies to collaborate their reading comprehension due to limited access in the neighborhood. This becomes part of the concentration of researchers to carry out this research, when making observations at SMK Negeri 3 Parepare, found the results of students' reading comprehension is still in a fairly problematic condition. The researcher adapted the One stays rest stray strategy as a solution to the lack of students' reading comprehension. In this case, the purpose of this study was to determine whether the one stays rest stray strategy could improve reading comprehension of tenth years students of SMK Negeri 3 Parepare. Researchers used a quasi-experimental method, with the design of two groups of initial and final tests. The research sample consisted of 40 students from two classes as a total population. The results of data analysis showed that students' reading comprehension improved significantly. This is indicated by the average score of the initial test is 37.90 and the final test is 73.85. This shows that the one stays rest stray strategy can be used to improve the reading skills of eighth grade students. After analyzing the data using the t test formula, the results of the t test value at the final test are 5,295. This shows that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, and students taught through the one stays rest stray strategy have better improvement than students taught through the self directed learning strategy.

Abstract

This research focuses on the implementation of the story face strategy to address the students' lack of reading comprehension. Furthermore, the purpose of this research is to find out whether the implementation of story face strategy can improve students' reading comprehension, especially narrative texts in the form of narrative in class VIII UPTD SMP Negeri 9 Parepare. This study uses quantitative methods with pre-experimental classes. Then process of collecting data using pre-test and post-test. The test used was a reading test related to narrative texts about smart parrots, rabbits, and bears, consisting of 10 items, 5 for multiple choice and 5 for essays. Then the sample was selected using simple random sampling, consisting of 20 students from class VIII UPTD SMP Negeri 9 Parepare. The results of the data analysis showed that students' reading comprehension increased significantly. This is indicated by the comparison of the results of the pre-test and post-test. There are only 45.71% of students' scores in the pre-test and 84.28% in the post-test. This means that students' reading comprehension is greater after being given treatment with the story face strategy. This shows that students' reading comprehension at UPTD SMP Negeri 9 Parepare has progressed in learning using this strategy.

Abstract

Collaborative efforts among community members, health care professionals, and faith-based institutions can prove valuable in efforts to improve community health. The aim of this research is to increase knowledge about risk factors for heart disease, diabetes, stroke among the Bugis Community Kalimantan population; and to empower community members to take control of their health by modifying living habits through health education programs held within religious communities. This study used data obtained from a pre- and post-health risk assessment survey to assess participants' knowledge of risk factors that cause chronic diseases among the Kalimantan population in underserved Bugis communities. Data obtained from activity log books and health check sessions were used to assess the impact of knowledge gained about lifestyle practices. The results of the educational intervention showed progress, with 24% of participants experiencing a decrease in blood pressure, 18% experiencing a decrease in blood sugar, and 6% experiencing a decrease in weight. As many as 60% of participants reported an increase in exercise, 77% reported changes in eating patterns to be healthier, and 95% of participants reported increased knowledge about risk factors for heart disease, diabetes and stroke. These results emphasize the importance of ongoing health education programs to increase public awareness and knowledge in preventing chronic diseases. The research findings support the need for continued popular development of educational programs especially in religious institutions within the Bugis community.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy is essential for students’ academic success and real-life problem-solving. However, math anxiety remains a significant barrier affecting students' performance, particularly in the “quantity” content of mathematical literacy. Despite extensive research, limited studies have explored how varying levels of math anxiety influence students’ mathematical literacy in specific content domains. This qualitative descriptive study investigates the impact of math anxiety on the mathematical literacy of the eighth-grade students in the “quantity” content. Using purposive sampling, six students from State Junior High School 26 Makassar were selected. The data collection involved a math anxiety questionnaire, a mathematical literacy test, and interview guidelines. The Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model was applied for data analysis. The findings indicate that math anxiety levels strongly influence students’ mathematical literacy. Students with low anxiety demonstrated strong conceptual understanding, effective problem-solving strategies, and accurate calculations. Those with moderate anxiety managed simpler tasks but struggled with complex problems, consistent with the Yerkes-Dodson law. The students experiencing high anxiety exhibited the poorest performance faced challenges in understanding instructions and applying appropriate strategies. The study highlights the necessity of addressing math anxiety through interactive teaching approaches and targeted support to enhance students’ mathematical literacy, suggesting practical interventions for educators. Abstrak: Literasi matematika sangat penting untuk keberhasilan akademik siswa dan pemecahan masalah dalam kehidupan nyata. Namun, kecemasan matematika tetap menjadi hambatan signifikan yang memengaruhi kinerja siswa, terutama dalam konten “kuantitas” literasi matematika. Meskipun penelitian yang luas telah dilakukan, hanya sedikit studi yang mengeksplorasi bagaimana tingkat kecemasan matematika yang berbeda memengaruhi literasi matematika siswa dalam domain konten tertentu. Studi deskriptif kualitatif ini menyelidiki dampak kecemasan matematika terhadap literasi matematika siswa kelas delapan dalam konten “kuantitas”. Melalui teknik purposive sampling, enam siswa dari SMP Negeri 26 Makassar dipilih sebagai responden. Pengumpulan data melibatkan kuesioner kecemasan matematika, tes literasi matematika, dan pedoman wawancara. Model Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana digunakan untuk analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kecemasan matematika sangat memengaruhi literasi matematika siswa. Siswa dengan tingkat kecemasan rendah menunjukkan pemahaman konsep yang kuat, strategi pemecahan masalah yang efektif, dan perhitungan yang akurat. Siswa dengan tingkat kecemasan sedang mampu menangani tugas-tugas sederhana tetapi kesulitan dengan masalah yang lebih kompleks, sesuai dengan hukum Yerkes-Dodson. Siswa dengan tingkat kecemasan tinggi menunjukkan kinerja terburuk, menghadapi kesulitan dalam memahami instruksi dan menerapkan strategi yang sesuai. Studi ini menyoroti pentingnya mengatasi kecemasan matematika melalui pendekatan pengajaran interaktif dan dukungan yang ditargetkan untuk meningkatkan literasi matematika siswa, serta merekomendasikan intervensi praktis bagi para pendidik.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of fiqh rules in economic transactions in Islamic financial institutions through a literature review study approach. The focus of this research is to identify the extent to which fiqh rules are applied in the practice of economic transactions and to understand the challenges and opportunities faced by Islamic financial institutions in their implementation. The research method used is a literature review study that involves a critical analysis of various literature sources, either in the form of scientific journals, books, or previous research reports relevant to this topic. The analysis is carried out to collect, synthesize, and evaluate the findings in the literature related to the implementation of fiqh rules in economic transactions. The results of the study show that the implementation of fiqh rules in Islamic financial institutions plays an important role in maintaining the conformity of economic transactions with Sharia principles. However, there are some challenges in its application, such as different interpretations of certain rules and a lack of in-depth understanding among practitioners. This study also found that Islamic financial institutions have a great opportunity to further optimize the application of fiqh rules through increased education and training as well as the development of innovative products. The originality of this research lies in its approach that combines various literary perspectives to provide a comprehensive overview of the application of fiqh rules in economic transactions in Islamic financial institutions. Thus, this research is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of better Islamic financial practices following Islamic principles.

Abstract

This article explores the influence of picture guessing games on improved understanding of Arabic vocabulary in early childhood. Picture guessing, as an interactive and fun learning method, is believed to improve a child's ability to identify and remember new vocabulary. The study used a quantitative approach with experimental design to measure the effectiveness of games in improving children's Arabic vocabulary. The results showed that picture guessing games significantly improved the understanding of speech and improved Arabic language skills in early childhood

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of students' creative thinking skills in solving mathematical problems, particularly in the context of flat geometry. The research was conducted at SMP Buq’atun Mubarakah, involving two eighth-grade students as subjects. A qualitative descriptive method was used, with data collected through written tests and interviews to understand the students' thinking processes. Data were analyzed using descriptive and thematic analysis techniques, evaluating students' answers based on indicators of creative thinking skills, such as fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The results indicate that students can generally understand problems but still face difficulties in applying mathematical concepts, especially in measurements and the perimeter of flat shapes. Students tend to make mistakes in interpreting and solving more complex problems, indicating a need to enhance their creative thinking skills. The implications of this study highlight the importance of strong instructional support and teaching methods that encourage exploration, the use of varied strategies, and technology integration to improve students' creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

Perpustakaan modern tidak lagi hanya berfungsi sebagai tempat penyimpanan buku, tetapi juga sebagai pusat sumber daya digital. Dalam menghadapi tantangan di era digital, perpustakaan perlu beradaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi dan perubahan kebutuhan pengguna. Pustakawan pun dituntut untuk memiliki keterampilan dalam mengelola data digital dan memberikan layanan berbasis teknologi. Salah satu upaya pengembangan kompetensi pustakawan adalah melalui program Praktik Kerja Lapangan (PKL), yang melibatkan mahasiswa dalam kegiatan pengelolaan perpustakaan. Artikel ini mengevaluasi kontribusi program PKL di Perpustakaan Balai Penelitian dan Pengembangan Agama Makassar, termasuk dalam hal peningkatan layanan dan manajemen perpustakaan. Dengan pelaksanaan PKL, perpustakaan mendapatkan ide-ide segar, sementara mahasiswa memperoleh pengalaman praktis yang berharga. Evaluasi ini menunjukkan bahwa PKL memberikan manfaat bagi perpustakaan, pustakawan, dan mahasiswa dalam menghadapi tantangan modernisasi layanan perpustakaan.

Abstract

The analysis techniques in this study are validity test, reliability test, classic assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis test and hypothesis testing through determination test and t (partial) test. The results of this study indicate that partially Production Costs have a positive and significant effect on Net Income (Study on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Cases in Bulukumba Regency) as indicated by a calculated T value of 3.498 > Table T value of 2.04523 and a significance value of 0.002 < 0. 05. Sales have a positive and significant effect on net income (Study on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Bulukumba Regency) as indicated by a calculated T value of 2.692 > Table T value of 2.04523 and a significance value of 0.012 < 0.05.

Abstract

The Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) is a key concept in financial management, indicating the maximum growth rate a company can achieve without relying on additional external financing. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing SGR, focusing on leverage, asset turnover, profitability, and liquidity. Data were obtained from the financial and annual reports of 10 companies for the period 2021–2023, sourced from the Indonesia Stock Exchange’s official website (idx.co.id) and the respective websites of each company.The data analysis was conducted using Eviews 13, applying panel data regression in a quantitative approach. The results revealed that leverage, as measured by the debt-to-asset ratio (DAR), and profitability, as measured by return on assets (ROA), significantly impacted the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR), with a significance level of P < 0.05. However, asset turnover, proxied by the total asset turnover ratio (TATO), and liquidity, proxied by the current ratio (CR), did not show a significant effect on SGR, with P > 0.05.These findings suggest that higher leverage and profitability levels contribute positively to a company’s sustainable growth potential, while asset turnover and liquidity do not significantly influence the SGR. Consequently, companies aiming to achieve optimal growth may focus on maintaining favorable leverage and profitability levels without placing undue emphasis on asset turnover or liquidity ratios. This research offers insights into how companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange can manage internal financial factors to support sustainable growth.
