YouTube offers plenty of authentic material created by people worldwide which is frequently used as learning media. Numerous studies on YouTube have been carried out, some of which examined the effect of YouTube on listening ability, and the use of YouTube as learning media. However, only a few studies talk about the use of YouTube on students’ listening comprehension particularly to monitor self-improvement for getting English listening proficiency. Therefore, anchored in Anderson’s (1995) theory and filling the void of previous studies, this research was conducted to describe the use of watching YouTube videos for acquiring students’ listening comprehension. This research applied a qualitative research approach using a structured questionnaire and semi-structured interview as the instruments to collect the data. The subjects of this research were 4 students of the English Language Education Study Program of Lambung Mangkurat University. Findings showed that the use of YouTube videos by the respondents means they use extensive listening to improve their listening comprehension. The participants portrayed using YouTube as a way of self-improvement. The improvement they felt after watching YouTube videos was that they are able to easily find the main idea and general information while listening. It can be concluded that watching YouTube videos frequently is useful enough to improve students' listening comprehension.

This study aims to determine: (1) the types of errors, (2) the level of error categories, and (3) the causes of students making mistakes in solving problems of rank and root form based on Watson's criteria in terms of gender differences. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. There are six research subjects, namely three male students and three female students. The instruments used in data collection were test instruments and interview guidelines. The results showed that male students tended to make errors in the response level conflict with a fairly high error category where students had tried to solve the problem but students did not understand the concept of working on the problem so they failed to get the right conclusion. In addition, students only write the final answer without being accompanied by a clear reason or step for solving it because students do not know the right way to work on the problem. Meanwhile, female students tend to make mistakes in the skill hierarchy problem with the small error category where students lack the skills to calculate some arithmetic operations contained in the problem solving step and tend make mistakes other than the seven Watson categories with the small error category where students do not answer questions because students do not know the steps. solution that must be used in the work because students rarely work on problems with different forms.

The subjects in this research were 32 students of class XI MIA. The data collection techniques used in this research were the method of test and interview. The results of the research showed that of the three levels of mathematical logical intelligence, research subjects have similarities, starting at the step of understanding the problem subjects expressed the purpose of the problem with their own language and sentence. Then in devising a problem solving plan subjects make a mathematical model. At the step of carrying out the plan, the subjects determine the variable values needed to find a solution to the problem, and at the end of the problem solving process, subjects looking back the steps used and the results obtained. Meanwhile, from the three levels of mathematical logical intelligence, research subjects have differences, that are at the step of understanding the problem where the information revealed by the subject of KLMT is more complete than the subject of KLMS and KLMR. Meanwhile, at the step of carrying out the plan the subject of KLMT in using problem solving procedure more clear and precise. While, the subject of KLMS was able to complete the completion plan whose answer was finally correct, although the procedure used was incorrect. Then, the subject of KLMR faced an obstacle in solving problems because the procedure used was unclear.
