Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a high risk of natural disasters, so disaster mitigation literacy needs to be instilled from an early age through formal education in schools. This study aims to determine the level of understanding of disaster mitigation literacy among students in Geography learning using the Independent Curriculum at SMAN 7, Bengkulu City. This study used a quantitative descriptive approach, with data collection through questionnaires distributed to 104 randomly selected eleventh-grade students. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine the percentage of student\ understanding. The results showed that the majority of students had an understanding level ranging from understanding to very understanding, with an average percentage above 76 percent. These findings indicate that integrating disaster mitigation material into Geography learning can improve students' disaster literacy. This study concluded that strengthening contextual and practical learning methods, such as local case studies and disaster simulations, is very important for students to be better prepared to face disaster risks in vulnerable areas. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for teachers, schools, and policymakers in developing Geography learning strategies that aremore applicable and relevant to local conditions.

Abstract

Dental health has an important role in supporting overall body health. However, public awareness of the importance of treatment and early detection of dental diseases is still low. This study aims to design and develop a web-based expert system that is able to help early diagnosis of dental diseases using the Certainty Factor (CF) method. The CF method was chosen because it is able to handle uncertainty and produce probability estimates based on the symptoms inputted by the patient. The system was developed using the Waterfall approach and implemented in the Al-Fatah Primary Clinic case study. Evaluation of the system's performance shows that the CF method has an accuracy of 89%, outperforming the Naïve Bayes comparison method which only reaches 82%. The system is also equipped with an interactive interface for patients and administrators, as well as features for managing data on symptoms, diseases, and diagnosis results. The results show that this CF-based expert system is able to provide efficient solutions for early consultation of dental diseases independently and accelerate diagnosis services in clinics.

Abstract

PT Menara Kudus Indonesia is a printing, publishing, and bookstore company that still relies on manual sales and paper-based transaction recording, causing inefficiencies and dead stock due to unbalanced production and demand. This study develops a responsive web-based sales prediction system that integrates the Double Exponential Smoothing (DES) method to improve accuracy in forecasting sales trends. The system was developed using the PHP programming language, MySQL database, and the Waterfall SDLC model. The novelty of this research lies in the direct integration of the DES forecasting algorithm into a web-based system, enabling real-time predictions and automated reporting. The implementation results show that the system can process historical sales data, generate accurate forecasts, and provide tabular and graphical reports. The forecast for the 11th month resulted in 174 units, which can serve as a production planning reference. This system improves efficiency, reduces the risk of overstock and understock, and accelerates managerial decision-making.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the causes and effects of impulsive product purchases from the perspective of hedonic shopping, live shopping e-commerce, pay later facilities, and financial literacy (case study of generation Z students at SMK PGRI 1 Kudus), which then examines what become a supporting and inhibiting factor so that impulse purchases of products made by students of SMK PGRI 1 Kudus decrease. The method used is qualitative using fishbone diagram analysis. Financial health from an early age can determine a person's financial well-being in the future. Normalizing impulsive behavior that is not immediately rehabilitated will become a habit that has a negative impact. SMK PGRI 1 Kudus, as a Vocational High School that promotes personal grooming, makes its students really pay attention to their appearance, so that impulse purchases sometimes occur in the category of appearance supporting products. SMK PGRI 1 Kudus has made efforts to control purchases made by its students in order to reduce impulse purchases of products by continuing to apply personal grooming in its students' daily lives.

Abstract

Surgery can trigger systemic inflammatory response syndrome. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Periplaneta americana cockroach extract as an oral systemic anti-inflammatory agent using molecular docking. The molecular docking method consisted of five steps. The first step was preparing the TNF-α converting enzyme (TACE) receptor as a native ligand, dexamethasone as a control ligand, and three test ligands of Periplaneta americana cockroach extract. The second step was docking preparation. The third step was analyzing Gibbs free energy (∆G) and root mean square deviation (RMSD). The fourth step was docking the test and control ligands with TACE. The fifth step was analyzing ∆G, inhibition constant (Ki), visualization of two- and three-dimensional interactions, percentage of binding site similarity (%BSS), and the rule of five (Ro5) on test ligands. The ∆G results for the native, control, and test ligands 1, 2, and 3 were -12.8, -7.1, -7.7, -6.9, and -9.0 kcal/mol, respectively. The Ki values for the native, control, and test ligands 1, 2, and 3 were 4.091, 6.205, 2.253, 9.521, and 2.507 µM, respectively. The results of the Ro5 analysis suggested that the three test ligands satisfied Lipinski's rule of five. This study concluded that Periplaneta americana cockroach extract is an effective oral systemic anti-inflammatory agent.

Abstract

Modern education demands the development of Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), particularly in elementary school science learning. Gamification, through platforms like Wordwall, has emerged as a promising strategy to enhance motivation and stimulate high-level cognitive processes. However, existing research has not specifically analyzed which gamification mechanics contribute to HOTS development. This study aims to identify, analyze, and synthesize empirical evidence on the specific role of Wordwall's gamification mechanics in developing the HOTS of elementary science students through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA framework. A literature search was conducted on the Google Scholar database for articles published between 2020 and 2024. From an initial 686 articles, 6 met the inclusion criteria and were thematically analyzed. The analysis reveals that key mechanics such as (1) instant feedback and challenges promote the process of analysis; (2) interactivity and visualization facilitate interpretation and evaluation; and (3) elements of competition and time constraints are effective for measuring knowledge application within project/problem-based learning models. It is concluded that Wordwall is not merely a motivational tool but a strategic pedagogical instrument that, when designed appropriately, can effectively train various aspects of students' HOTS. While this review identifies key correlations, future experimental research is recommended to establish a direct causal relationship between these specific mechanics and the development of distinct HOTS components.
