Abstract

This study explores the crucial role of community participation through Regional People’s Representative Councils (DPRD) in the process of regional lawmaking. The main objective is to analyze how communities actively engage in the formation of regional regulations, identify existing obstacles, and propose strategies to strengthen participatory mechanisms. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects include community members and DPRD legislators or members of regional regulation-making committees within one selected district/city, while the research object focuses on the lawmaking process involving public participation. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations of community forums, and documentation of DPRD procedures and related legal instruments. Data analysis was conducted using a thematic qualitative method through stages of data reduction, data presentation, and verification (triangulation). The findings reveal that although formal mechanisms such as public consultations and hearings are established, community participation often remains symbolic. Public aspirations are recorded but rarely translated into substantive influence on DPRD decisions. The study identifies key determinants of effective participation, including transparency of information, community capacity, and the commitment of DPRD members. This research contributes to the understanding of participatory democracy in local governance and offers practical recommendations to enhance inclusivity in lawmaking: improving public access to information, empowering communities in articulating aspirations, and promoting genuinely deliberative forums. The originality of this study lies in its focus on the micro-level dynamics between communities and DPRD in Indonesia’s regional legislative processes, offering insights into the real challenges of participatory governance

Abstract

The Data Pokok Pendidikan (DAPODIK) system serves as the primary foundation for educational data management and policy decision-making in Indonesia. However, persistent institutional challenges continue to affect the accuracy and reliability of the data. This research aims to identify and analyze the institutional obstacles that hinder the effective implementation of DAPODIK. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the study explores three key dimensions: infrastructure, institutional structure, and human resources. The findings reveal that (1) inadequate internet connectivity and unstable electricity disrupt data entry and synchronization; (2) weak policy integration, limited budgets, and inconsistent leadership commitment impede effective data governance; and (3) insufficient training for school operators reduces technical competence, thereby compromising data validity. These findings highlight the need for a comprehensive reform strategy that strengthens digital infrastructure, enhances institutional governance, and develops human resource capacity to ensure reliable education data management.

Abstract

Ceftriaxone (CEF) is a β-lactam antibiotic widely used in the medical field to treat various bacterial infections in both humans and animals. The high usage of CEF has the potential to cause environmental pollution and antimicrobial resistance, necessitating effective treatment methods. In this study, the adsorption method is proposed using Ni/Al layered double hydroxide (LDH) and Camellia sinensis extract-modified material (Ni/Al-CSe) as a sustainable bio-modification approach. The results show the optimal adsorption pH for Ni/Al LDH is 3 and for Ni/Al-CSe is 5, with the adsorption isotherms following the Freundlich model and the kinetics conforming to pseudo-first order (PFO). The maximum adsorption capacity (Qm) significantly increased from 28.818 mg/g (Ni/Al LDH) to 111.111 mg/g (Ni/Al-CSe). Thermodynamic analysis revealed that adsorption on both materials proceeds spontaneously, while the consistently more negative ΔG values and predominantly exothermic behavior of Ni/Al-CSe confirm its superior thermodynamic favorability associated with more specific surface interactions. Regeneration tests up to four cycles showed that Ni/Al-CSe was more stable than Ni/Al LDH. Overall, modifying Ni/Al LDH with Camellia sinensis extract was proven to enhance adsorption capacity, spontaneity, and stability, providing an effective and environmentally friendly solution for antibiotic treatment.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the fast-food industry in the era of globalization has intensified competition, compelling companies to deliver services that meet consumer needs and foster customer satisfaction. In Aceh, the establishment of McDonalds Banda Aceh is not only a business milestone but also a social phenomenon due to heightened public sensitivity toward business ethics and Islamic values amid global boycott movements. This study investigates the influence of Islamic Business Ethics, Strategic Location, and Perceived Ease of Use of drive-thru services on Consumer Satisfaction at McDonalds Banda Aceh. Using a quantitative causal approach, a Likert-scale questionnaire was distributed to 105 drive-thru consumers, and the data were analyzed through multiple linear regression after passing validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The findings show that the three independent variables simultaneously have a significant effect on consumer satisfaction, with an Adjusted R Square value of 0.536. Partially, Strategic Location has a positive and significant effect on consumer satisfaction, whereas Islamic Business Ethics and Perceived Ease of Use do not exhibit significant effects. These results indicate that easy accessibility, adequate parking space, and a safe and comfortable drive-thru environment are dominant factors shaping customer satisfaction. Overall, the study concludes that Strategic Location is the primary determinant of consumer satisfaction in the McDonalds Banda Aceh drive-thru service, while Islamic Business Ethics and Perceived Ease of Use have not yet emerged as decisive variables. The study implies that management should prioritize accessibility and drive-thru traffic management while continuously enhancing the service experience to maintain long-term customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Alue Naga Beach in Banda Aceh is a coastal area with significant ecological and economic value, but it faces serious threats due to plastic and microplastic pollution. In response to this issue, a beach cleanup initiative was carried out by students from the Development Economics Department of Syiah Kuala University and the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Department of Abulyatama University as part of their community service efforts. The activity was conducted through a hands-on approach on-site, beginning with a site survey, mapping of waste accumulation points, followed by cleanup and documentation of the activity. The results of the activity showed that a total of eight bags of plastic and inorganic waste were successfully collected. Most of the waste consisted of single-use plastic, which has the potential to become a source of microplastics in the ocean. Despite limitations in implementation, the activity successfully contributed positively to beach cleanliness. It is recommended that similar activities be conducted regularly, involving the community, strengthening government support, and incorporating education.
