Abstract

Fair access to health services is a fundamental right guaranteed by Indonesian law. BPJS Health, as the national health insurance administrator, is mandated under Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health to ensure equitable, non-discriminatory, and efficient services for all citizens. However, disparities in service quality, administrative delays, and unequal distribution of health facilities continue to raise legal concerns regarding the fulfillment of justice principles. This study employs a normative juridical approach supported by statutory, conceptual, and case-based analysis. Legal materials were collected through document review of Law No. 17/2023, related regulations, and scholarly literature. The analysis compares normative provisions with field-based findings from secondary data to evaluate whether BPJS services align with the principles of fairness, accountability, and legal certainty. Results: The study finds that although Law No. 17/2023 strengthens the legal foundation for equitable health services, gaps remain in implementation. Issues such as service discrimination, referral system barriers, and limited infrastructure hinder the realization of legal fairness. BPJS Health has implemented reforms to improve transparency and accessibility, yet inconsistencies between policy and practice persist. BPJS health services have a strong legal framework for fairness under Law No. 17/2023, but practical challenges weaken its effectiveness. Strengthening regulatory enforcement, improving governance, and enhancing health facility capacity are essential to achieving genuinely fair health services nationwide

Abstract

This study examines the factors that influence students of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung in deciding to use e-wallets as a means of digital payment. The rapid growth of cashless transactions among young users has raised questions about what drives their adoption of digital financial services. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved 30 third-semester students of the Sharia Accounting Study Program selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through open-ended questionnaire items distributed via Google Forms, allowing respondents to describe their experiences, motivations, and perceptions regarding e-wallet usage. The findings show that the level of e-wallet utilization among students is notably high, with DANA emerging as the most widely used application. Students’ decisions are influenced mainly by ease of use, fast transaction processes, promotional offers, and social encouragement from peers. Perceptions of security are generally positive, supported by features such as PIN and OTP verification, although several respondents still expect improvements to prevent data breaches. Students also view e-wallets as more practical for small, daily transactions, while digital banking services are considered more suitable for saving or conducting larger transactions. Overall, the study highlights that e-wallets play a significant role in shaping students’ financial behavior by offering convenience, efficiency, and accessible digital financial tools that align with their everyday needs.

Abstract

Background. Wood vinegar is a by-product of the pyrolysis of biomass such as wood. Wood vinegar is also known as liquid smoke/pyroligneous acid. Wood vinegar is formed from the incomplete combustion of lignocellulosic materials. Wood vinegar produces compounds that have antimicrobial, antibacterial, and antioxidant effects. Aims. This study aimed to determine the effect of wood vinegar and ecoenzyme application on the vegetative growth of Servo tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) plants. Methods. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 9 treatment combinations of wood vinegar (0, 10, and 15 mL/L water) and ecoenzyme (0, 10, and 15 mL/L water) and 3 replicates. The parameters observed included plant height and number of leaves at 10, 17, 27, 37, and 47 days after planting (DAP). The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% level. Result. The results showed that the application of a combination of wood vinegar and ecoenzyme had a very significant effect on the vegetative growth of tomato plants at all observation ages (p < 0.05). The best treatment was P8 (15 mL/L wood vinegar + 15 mL/L ecoenzyme), with the highest average number of leaves (114.67) and plant height (66.83 cm) at 47 DAP. The combination of these two materials worked synergistically to increase nutrient availability, enhance soil microbial activity, and stimulate the production of natural growth hormones (auxin and cytokinin). Conclusion. Meanwhile, the medium concentration at P6 (10 mL/L wood vinegar + 15 mL/L ecoenzyme) also showed a significant increase in leaf number and plant height compared to the control. Implementation. The use of a combination of wood vinegar and an ecoenzyme has been proven to optimally enhance the vegetative growth of Servo tomato plants. It can serve as a potential environmentally friendly organic biostimulant to replace chemical fertilizers.

Abstract

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a major cause of cancer-related mortality, and transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) is the standard therapy for intermediate-stage disease. However, response to TACE is variable, and reliable quantitative imaging biomarkers are needed to support early treatment decision-making. This study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of the delayed percentage attenuation ratio (DPAR) measured from pre-TACE multiphasic computed tomography (CT) in forecasting early therapeutic response. A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted involving patients with a definitive diagnosis of HCC who underwent their first TACE session and had complete multiphasic CT imaging before and after treatment. Quantitative washout parameters, delayed percentage attenuation ratio (DPAR), absolute washout (WOAbs), and relative washout (WORel) were measured using standardized region of interest (ROI) placement by three radiologists. Treatment response was assessed four to six weeks post-TACE based on modified Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (mRECIST) criteria and classified into responders and non-responders. Diagnostic performance was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, and interobserver reliability was assessed using intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Cohen’s κ. A total of 49 HCC patients were included and analyzed. Responders demonstrated significantly higher DPAR values compared with non-responders (median 134.5 vs 113.0; p<0.001). DPAR showed the strongest discriminative performance with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.898, outperforming WOAbs (AUC 0.689) and WORel (AUC 0.704). The optimal DPAR threshold of ≥120.5 provided 84.4% sensitivity and 88.2% specificity to predict early post-TACE treatment response. Interobserver reliability was excellent for all washout parameters (ICC 0.98–0.99), and agreement for mRECIST classification was also excellent (κ=0.867). In conclusion, pre-TACE DPAR is a robust and reproducible quantitative imaging biomarker that accurately predicts early response to TACE in HCC. A threshold value of ≥120.5 may assist in treatment planning and patient selection in routine clinical practice.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Alpha-mangostin (AM) exhibits potent anti-breast cancer activity but its therapeutic effectiveness is constrained due to low aqueous solubility and poor bioavailability. Ternary solid dispersions (TSDs) were developed by adding another excipient to address these challenges. Nevertheless, limited studies have systematically evaluated whether improvements in dissolution and stability achieved through TSD systems are translated into enhanced in vitro cytotoxicity of AM. Therefore, TSD system of AM with Eudragit (EUD) and Poloxamer (POL) was developed, and in vitro cytotoxicity activity was evaluated as a preliminary proof-of-concept in MCF-7 breast cancer cells.METHODS: TSD of AM was prepared by solvent evaporation and characterized by Power X-Ray Diffraction (PXRD), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) Spectroscopy. The pharmaceutical properties were evaluated by in vitro dissolution test using a standard paddle apparatus, while physical stability was assessed under two relative humidity environments. The in vitro anticancer efficacy was examined in MCF-7 breast cancer cell using an MTT assay.RESULTS: Amorphization of TSD was confirmed by a halo pattern with PXRD measurements and the absence of an AM melting peak in the DSC curve. FT-IR analysis revealed hydrogen bond interactions between the carbonyl group of AM and EUD/POL protons. TSD system significantly improved the dissolution profile and enhanced cytotoxic effects, reducing cell viability to 1.17% at 16 µg/mL with an IC50 of 7.11 μg/mL (CI 95%: 6.626-7.591).CONCLUSION: The TSD system significantly improved dissolution profile and in vitro cytotoxicity in MCF-7 breast cancer cells, providing proof-of-concept for enhancing the biological performance of AM. Abstract

This study examines fundamental weaknesses in judicial supervision in Indonesia following Constitutional Court Decision Number 39/PUU-XIII/2015. Using normative legal research with statutory, case-based, conceptual, and comparative approaches, the research identifies a critical research gap: the absence of comprehensive frameworks that integrate oversight of judicial technical reasoning with ethical evaluation in ways that maintain judicial independence while strengthening institutional accountability. This study theoretically contributes to the development of balanced independence-accountability theory by reconceptualizing judicial supervision as a system that enables rather than constrains judicial professionalism. The findings indicate three central issues. First, Constitutional Court Decision Number 39/PUU-XIII/2015 has significantly narrowed the authority of the Judicial Commission by restricting oversight related to judicial technical matters, creating institutional vulnerability. Second, both internal and external supervisory mechanisms failed to detect early indications of bribery in the acquittal verdict of Gregorius Ronald Tannur, despite striking inconsistencies between the court's legal reasoning and the evidentiary record, demonstrating critical gaps in monitoring systems. Third, judicial supervision in Indonesia remains predominantly reactive rather than proactive, addressing issues only after they surface in criminal proceedings. This study recommends regulatory reform through the enactment of the Judicial Office Bill, revision of the Judicial Commission Law, and integration of artificial intelligence systems with appropriate safeguards to identify anomalous judicial decisions. These measures aim to strengthen preventive mechanisms while preserving judicial independence and ensuring institutional accountability.
