Abstract

Language is the primary medium for conveying ideas, thoughts, and information, and it plays a crucial role in all aspects of human life, including the acquisition of knowledge. Arabic, as a language of communication closely associated with Islam, holds a special position in the lives of Muslims because it is the language of the Qur'an and Hadith. However, in the era of globalization—characterized by the rapid flow of information, the dominance of foreign languages, and technological advancements—the existence of Arabic faces serious challenges. The impact of globalization has led to structural and lexical shifts in the Arabic language, including the incorporation of foreign vocabulary, the growing use of Arabizi, and the declining use of Modern Standard Arabic (al-‘Arabiyyah al-Fu???) in daily communication. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review and content analysis to identify forms of change and strategies for preserving the Arabic language in the context of contemporary sociolinguistics. The findings reveal that language change is not only driven by external factors such as the dominance of Western culture and technology, but also by internal challenges such as uncommunicative teaching methods and limited educational resources. Relevant and adaptive preservation strategies—such as the digitalization of learning, revitalization of media, language policy reform, and international collaboration—are key to safeguarding Arabic as a symbol of identity, culture, and the transmission of Islamic values. This research affirms that the preservation of Arabic is not merely a technical matter, but is closely linked to efforts to safeguard cultural heritage and the collective integrity of the Muslim community amid global changes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of credit growth, non-performing loans (NPLs), credit restructuring, and loan write-offs on stock prices, with profitability as an intervening variable. The companies studied are banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Credit policy and management are crucial elements in the banking industry, as they serve not only as banks but also as the company's primary source of revenue. This study employed a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression. Data management and analysis were performed using Eviews version 12. The sample consisted of 37 banking companies selected purposively over a three-year observation period (2022-2024), resulting in a total of 111 observations. The analysis showed that credit growth had a positive and significant effect on stock prices, while non-performing loans (NPLs) and loan restructuring had a negative and significant effect on stock prices. While loan write-offs had no effect on stock prices, credit growth had no effect on stock prices. Credit growth has a negative and significant effect on stock prices with profitability as an intervening variable, conversely NPL and credit restructuring have a positive and significant effect on stock prices with profitability as an intervening variable while credit write-offs have no effect on stock prices with profitability as an intervening variable.

Abstract

Desa Lenek Duren, yang terletak di Kabupaten Lombok Timur, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat, memiliki potensi alam yang kaya, terutama dalam produksi buah alpukat. Meskipun alpukat dikenal karena kandungan antioksidannya dan rasanya yang khas, pemanfaatan buah ini masih terbatas sebagai konsumsi segar. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, pelatihan pembuatan dodol alpukat dilaksanakan pada 23 Januari 2025, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang pengolahan alpukat. Pelatihan ini melibatkan tiga tahapan: pemilihan alpukat yang matang, uji coba pembuatan dodol, dan pelatihan langsung. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa dodol alpukat memiliki citarasa unik yang menggabungkan rasa manis dan pahit, serta diterima dengan antusias oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the extent of the combined influence of motivation and discipline on employee performance at the West Bandung Regency Education Office Secretariat. The population of this study consists of employees at the West Bandung Regency Education Office Secretariat. The sample used in this study consisted of 38 respondents. The data analysis method employed a quantitative descriptive approach and multiple linear regression analysis using the SPSS tool. Data collection was obtained from respondents through questionnaires. The results of this research indicate that there is an influence of motivation on employee performance, an influence of discipline on employee performance, and a combined influence of motivation and discipline on employee performance at the West Bandung Regency Education Office Secretariat, amounting to 91.8%. This means that motivation and discipline can explain 91.8% of the variation in employee performance at the West Bandung Regency Education Office Secretariat.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the validity of a local-issue-based coconut shell briquette e-supplement developed for an environmental chemistry course, as well as to evaluate student responses to the material. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model and a descriptive quantitative approach, the study measured both expert evaluations and learner perceptions. The e-supplement was reviewed by two content experts, two linguistic experts, and two media experts, and was tested by ten students enrolled in the Chemistry Education program at FKIP UNTAN. Data were collected through a combination of direct and indirect communication techniques, along with measurement instruments including validity assessment sheets and response questionnaires. The findings revealed that the e-supplement achieved a validity score of 81.25% in material quality, 87.50% in linguistic clarity, and 94.44% in media presentation. Additionally, student responses indicated a high level of approval, with a 91.5% positive rating. Based on these results, the e-supplement is considered suitable for implementation in environmental chemistry education, and it shows promising potential to support contextual learning and contribute to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' multiple representation ability on hydrocarbon which includes macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic representations. The research subjects were Chemistry Education Study Program students of FKIP Tanjungpura University class of 2022 and 2023 who had taken the Organic Chemistry of Monofunctional Compounds course, totaling 108 people. The research used a quantitative descriptive method with an instrument in the form of a description test of 9 questions, each of which represented three levels of representation. The results showed that students' macroscopic representation ability was classified as good with an average of 68.30% (batch 2023) and 64.86% (batch 2022). The submicroscopic representation ability is classified as good, with an average of 70.26% (batch 2023) and 69.59% (batch 2022). Meanwhile, the symbolic ability of the 2023 batch students was classified as sufficient with an average of 53.43%, and the 2022 batch was classified as good with an average of 67.10%. These findings indicate that students still experience difficulties, particularly in mastering symbolic representation, which is a crucial aspect in understanding hydrocarbon chemistry concepts. Therefore, training in symbolic representation mastery is necessary. The novelty of this research lies in the focus of the analysis of students' abilities in integrating the three levels of representation comprehensively on the topic of hydrocarbons, which until now has rarely been studied specifically in the context of chemistry education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of an interactive electronic module on chemical bonding for 11th-grade high school students, as well as to describe student responses to its use. The study is a type of Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), though it is limited to the Develop stage. Data collection instruments included feasibility assessment sheets and student response questionnaires. The module’s feasibility was assessed by three experts based on language, content, and media aspects. The results showed an average feasibility percentage of 95.51%, categorized as highly feasible. The response test was conducted on a limited basis with 30 students from grade XI at SMA N 1 Sungai Raya, yielding an average response percentage of 87.25%, categorized as very good. Based on these results, the interactive electronic module was deemed feasible and received positive responses from students, making it a potential alternative for engaging and interactive learning in chemical bonding.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of metacognitive awareness and learning retention regarding the concepts of solubility and solubility product among grade XI students at Senior High School 10 Pontianak, as well as to analyze the correlation between the two variables. The study population consisted of 94 students from classes XI A, XI B, and XI C, with a sample of 57 students selected through simple random sampling from classes XI B and XI C. Data were collected using a Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) questionnaire to measure metacognitive awareness and an essay test to assess learning retention. Descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were used for data analysis. The results showed that 35% of students demonstrated metacognitive awareness in the "developed" level, while 65% were in the "very well-developed" level. The average learning retention rate for solubility and solubility product concepts was 90.50%, categorized as high. A weak positive and significant correlation (r = 0.280) was found between metacognitive awareness and learning retention, with metacognitive awareness accounting for 7.8% of the variance in learning retention. These findings suggest that while metacognitive awareness influences learning retention to some extent, other factors also play a significant role. This study offers a contribution by specifically exploring the relationship between metacognitive awareness and learning retention on chemistry concepts such as solubility and Ksp concepts at the Senior High School level, a study and subject matter that is rarely explored specifically and simultaneously.

Abstract

Science process skills (SPS) are important skills that students need to master through practical activities. The purpose of this study was to identify students' SPS in the aspects of observing, classifying, interpreting, using tools and materials, and communicating in practical activities related to the law of conservation of mass. This study employed a descriptive quantitative method with 30 chemistry education students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tanjungpura University, as the research subjects. Data were collected through observation and documentation in the form of laboratory reports. The research instrument was an observation sheet. Data was collected through observation and documentation in the form of laboratory reports. The science process skills observation sheet was validated by two experts, showing a validity value of 0.91, which falls into the very high category. The research data was analyzed quantitatively. The research results showed that the average percentage obtained for each KPS indicator for students in the observation aspect reached 87% (very good), classification 83% (very good), interpretation 69% (good), use of tools/materials 83% (very good), and communication aspect 79% (good). Overall, the average percentage of SPS based on student observation was 80% with a good category. Thus, chemistry education students have the ability to conduct scientific investigations, which is an important foundation for prospective chemistry teachers.

Abstract

Learning engagement constitutes a critical component in the educational process, significantly influencing both the effectiveness of instruction and student academic achievement. This study aims to analyze the learning engagement of undergraduate students enrolled in a Chemistry Education program, specifically concerning their engagement with the subject matter of atomic concepts and the periodic system within the context of a general chemistry course. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were obtained through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Observational data were collected from a cohort of 31 students participating in lecture sessions. Based on the initial observational findings, 15 students were purposively selected for in-depth interviews, representing three distinct engagement profiles: highly engaged, moderately engaged, and minimally engaged. The results indicate that students' behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement levels vary across categories. Behavioral engagement was predominantly classified as "high," with students demonstrating active participation in learning activities. Emotional engagement was categorized as "moderate," reflecting students’ interest in the subject matter, albeit with varying degrees of emotional involvement. Cognitive engagement was also categorized as "moderate," as most students exhibited cognitive involvement in line with the key indicators, although not consistently at an optimal level. In conclusion, while students generally demonstrated positive behavioral engagement, there remains room for improvement in fostering deeper emotional and cognitive engagement in learning about atomic concepts and the periodic system. These findings underscore the need for instructional strategies that holistically support all dimensions of student engagement to enhance learning outcomes in chemistry education.
