Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of emotional intelligence and work motivation on employee performance, with Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) serving as an intervening variable at the Rawang Community Health Center in Padang City. A quantitative research approach was employed. Data were collected through observation and questionnaires. The sampling technique used was total sampling, involving 45 employees as respondents. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 4.The findings indicate that emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). Work motivation also has a positive and significant effect on OCB. Furthermore, emotional intelligence and work motivation each have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) is found to have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. However, OCB does not mediate the relationship between emotional intelligence and employee performance. In contrast, OCB successfully mediates the relationship between work motivation and employee performance.

Abstract

This study discusses the dynamics of localizing global norms for child protec- tion in the context of preventing child marriage in Bone Regency through Amitav Acharya’s localization theory and the Pentahelix collaborative model. Although Indonesia has ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child and imple- mented various national policies, the practice of child marriage remains preva- lent due to the strength of local social and cultural norms, such as the value of siri’ na pacce and literal interpretations of religious teachings. This study employs a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews of key actors, includ- ing local government officials, religious leaders, academics, children’s forums, and the media. The findings show that the SIP PEKA program has success- fully reduced the number of child marriage dispensations by integrating con- textual educational, regulatory, and participatory approaches. However, chal- lenges remain in the form of limited binding local regulations, limited media support, and sectoral egoism among agencies. Therefore, stronger cross- sectoral collaboration and broader community participation are key to strengthening the program’s sustainability. This research contributes to inter- national relations studies by highlighting how global norms can be absorbed and reinterpreted in local contexts through responsive and participatory ap- proaches.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of the digital economy has transformed production systems, labor markets, consumption patterns, and public service delivery. While digitalization is frequently promoted as a driver of inclusion and economic growth, emerging evidence suggests that it also reproduces and restructures social inequality. This study aims to analyze how digital economy transformation generates new forms of stratification from a development sociology perspective and to assess its implications for sustainable and socially just development. The research employs a qualitative design based on a systematic literature review of peer-reviewed studies published between 2021 and 2025. Data were collected through document analysis and examined using thematic analysis and critical interpretative synthesis to identify structural mechanisms linking digital transformation and inequality. The findings indicate that digitalization initially intensifies income polarization due to pro-skill technological bias, regional innovation agglomeration, and concentrated platform ownership. The multidimensional digital divide covering access, capabilities, usage patterns, and governance emerges as a new layer of social stratification. However, under inclusive institutional frameworks, digital finance, entrepreneurship, and adaptive policies can mitigate inequality. The study concludes that achieving sustainable development in the digital era requires a shift from digital equality toward digital justice through redistributive governance and institutional strengthening

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between social structure, power distribution, and justice in the context of structural inequality in Indonesia. Structural inequality persists across various sectors, including natural resource governance, law enforcement, and access to education, indicating that injustice is embedded within institutional arrangements rather than arising solely from individual factors. This research aims to critically analyze how social structures distribute power and reproduce inequality, and to assess their implications for substantive social justice. The study employs a qualitative design using a critical socio-legal and political economy approach. Data were collected through document analysis, in-depth interviews, and cross-case comparison across selected contexts, including mining governance, environmental enforcement, and education access. The data were analyzed using thematic coding and interpretative analysis to identify recurring structural patterns of inequality. The findings reveal that centralized authority, capital dominance, and unequal institutional access systematically marginalize vulnerable groups. Inequality manifests in asymmetrical law enforcement, exclusion from decision-making processes, and uneven resource distribution. The discussion highlights that justice cannot be understood merely in procedural terms but must address substantive redistribution and structural reform. In conclusion, structural inequality is sustained by entrenched power configurations, and achieving social justice requires institutional transformation and equitable redistribution of power and resources.

Abstract

This tree-planting activity was conducted in response to increasing environmental degradation and the decline of green open spaces caused by rapid development and unsustainable exploitation of natural resources. The activity took place on 27 September 2025 at the Education and Training Center Area of Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Bollangi, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, with the aim of transforming underutilized land into a productive green area with both ecological and economic value. The implementation consisted of two stages: preparation and planting of 200 fruit tree seedlings, including durian, soursop, jackfruit, and crystal guava. The results show that all seedlings were successfully planted in locations appropriate for soil conditions and sunlight exposure, supported by active participation from the participants throughout all stages. The activity not only contributed to increasing green coverage but also enhanced participants’ understanding and environmental awareness through brief training and education. Ecologically, the fruit trees planted have the potential to support carbon absorption, improve air quality, strengthen soil stability, and promote biodiversity. Economically, these trees hold promising value as future sources of marketable fruits and local food diversification. Therefore, this tree-planting initiative can be considered a long-term environmental and economic investment aligned with the principles of sustainable development.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the paradigm of public administration in dealing with the global health crisis by emphasizing the importance of multilateralism and cross-border cooperation. The government now plays the role of a facilitator that integrates health and political policies to respond more effectively. The study identifies countries with swift and transparent leadership, such as Vietnam, that are better able to respond to the pandemic, while also exposing global inequalities in low-income countries that need international support. Public administration has a crucial role in designing effective policies, providing resources, and implementing measures such as social distancing, with transparent communication to build public trust. The digitization of public services and evidence-based collaboration between governments and scientists have become important pillars in responding to people's needs. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with case studies and comparative analysis of policies in various countries. The results show that adaptation and innovation in public administration, including increasing digital literacy and community participation, are critical to building health system resilience to future crises. This research is expected to contribute to public administration theory and relevant policy recommendations to face similar challenges in the future.

Abstract

This research addresses gender inequality in economic participation in Indonesia, an issue that poses a barrier to sustainable development and social equality. Although there has been an increase in women's participation in the economic sector, women's labor participation rate is still significantly lower than men's, with an average labor participation rate of 83-84% for men and only 50-53% for women (BPS, 2018-2023). Various social and structural barriers, including patriarchal culture and the burden of domestic responsibilities, limit women's role in the public sector. This study uses descriptive analysis to evaluate trends and patterns of gender inequality in the Indonesian economy from 2018 to 2023, utilizing data from BPS. The findings show that gender inequality in economic participation disadvantages women and slows national economic growth. With more inclusive policies, Indonesia can correct this imbalance and increase its potential productivity and economic competitiveness.

Abstract

The development of digital technology, especially social media, has changed the way individuals interact and access information, but it has also had a negative impact on mental health. Excessive use of social media is associated with an increased risk of depression, anxiety, and decreased self-esteem, especially among adolescents and young adults. In addition, gadget addiction and the phenomenon of social comparison worsen an individual's psychological condition. On the other hand, the low level of public understanding of mental health is a major challenge in efforts to prevent and treat psychological disorders. Many individuals still consider mental health problems as taboo or personal weaknesses, which prevents them from seeking help. The Student Creativity Program (PKM) can play an important role in addressing this issue by increasing public awareness through community-based education, which can be done through various digital media and interactive activities. PKM allows students to design educational programs that are socially and culturally relevant, as well as increasing mental health literacy in the community. In the context of rapidly developing digitalization, the use of technology in PKM can expand the reach of mental health education in a more interesting and effective way. Therefore, PKM has the potential to reduce the stigma of mental health and promote psychological well-being in the community.

Abstract

Minority shareholders play an important role in the ownership structure of Limited Liability Companies (PT), but often face challenges due to the dominance of majority shareholders. This power imbalance threatens minority rights such as access to information, dividend distribution, and voting rights in General Meetings of Shareholders (GMS). Law No. 40/2007 on Limited Liability Companies (PT Law) provides legal protection for minority shareholders, but its implementation still faces obstacles such as weak supervision, lack of legal understanding, and regulatory gaps. This research uses a normative juridical method to analyze legal protection for minority shareholders, including a review of legal norms, doctrines, and court decisions. The results show that although the Company Law has provided a legal foundation, there are still gaps between ideal norms and business practices, such as manipulation of GMS results by the majority or limited transparency. Regulatory reform is needed to strengthen supervision, increase sanctions, and adopt international best practices, such as appraisal rights in the United States. These measures are expected to create more inclusive, fair and sustainable corporate governance, while increasing investor confidence in Indonesia's capital market.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has created a complex and widespread digital ecosystem, where digital platforms are becoming massive collectors of personal data. This phenomenon poses a risk of data leakage and misuse that threatens individual privacy. In Indonesia, even though Law No. 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (PDP Law) has been passed, its implementation still faces significant challenges, especially related to infrastructure readiness, law enforcement, and public awareness. Existing regulations tend to be normative and have not been able to keep up with rapid technological innovation, so the responsibility of digital platforms in maintaining data security is still weak and formalistic. This study uses a normative juridical approach to examine the effectiveness of the PDP Law in regulating the legal responsibilities of digital platforms. The results of the analysis show the need to strengthen supervision mechanisms, firm law enforcement, and increase technical capacity and human resources. Lessons learned from international standards emphasize the importance of independent oversight bodies and the application of privacy by design principles. With the synergy of adaptive regulations, reliable technology, and collective awareness, personal data protection can be realized effectively to protect users' rights and security in the digital era.
