Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of students' ability in solving integer multiplication operations using the Lattice method at SMPN 6 Palu in grade VII. The type of research used in this study is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research data was collected through tests, observations, and interviews. The results of the study after using the Lattice method showed a difference in students' scores before and after using the Lattice method. Before using the lattice method, the average score of all students was only 62.3, but after using the lattice method, the average score of all students increased to 75.0. However, the increase was not significant, meaning not all students experienced it. It can be said that almost all students experienced difficulties in solving problems with varying error locations, such as students being less careful or considering the problem easy, students not understanding the concept of the problem, students not mastering multiplication operations or not memorizing multiplication, and finally, the lack of carefulness in students when working on problems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze effective Islamic da'wah communication for Generation Z in the digital era. Generation Z, as a group born and raised in the midst of technological development, has distinct characteristics compared to previous generations, particularly in terms of communication patterns, media preferences, and how they receive information. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies as data collection techniques. The results indicate that effective da'wah communication for Generation Z must be interactive, creative, and relevant to everyday life. The use of social media such as short video platforms, podcasts, and visual content is the primary means of conveying da'wah messages. Furthermore, the use of simple, authentic language and a non-patronizing approach can increase the appeal and acceptance of da'wah messages. The conclusion of this study is that the success of da'wah to Generation Z is greatly influenced by the communicator's ability to adapt methods, media, and communication style to the characteristics of the audience. Therefore, innovation and adaptation in da'wah strategies are needed so that the Islamic message can be effectively received among Generation Z

Abstract

This research examines the philosophy embedded in Bulungan ornamental motifs as a form of living cultural heritage in North Kalimantan. These motifs function not only as decorative elements but also as representations of values such as harmony, bravery, respect for nature, and reverence for ancestors. Employing a descriptive qualitative method, the study collected primary data through in-depth interviews with artisans, cultural leaders, teachers, and students, supported by purposively selected visual documentation from archival sources and field observations. The data were analyzed using thematic coding and visual content analysis to uncover symbolic meanings reflected in patterns, colors, and forms. The findings indicate that certain motifs, such as the dragon, signify protection of the Kayan River, whereas floral and plant motifs symbolize fertility and the continuity of life. Beyond their aesthetic function, these symbols act as markers of cultural identity and as valuable learning resources in art education, encouraging creativity, cultural awareness, and character formation. Overall, the study highlights how traditional artistic expressions operate both as philosophical representations and as educational instruments for preserving local wisdom.
