Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the research was to produce Intuition Based Learning (IBL) model and supporting learning with Scientific Approach in solving problems to increase mathematics students’ achievement that valid, practical and effective. The type of the research was a Research and Development (R&D). The subjects of the research were grade XI MS 6 and XI MS 4 students of SMAN 2 Sragen, Central Java on Academic year 2014/2015. IBL model development process was adopt from Plomp and Borg & Gall development model. They were (1) Collect the informations and studying of theories in Preliminary Investigations Phase, (2) Design of IBL model and supporting learning material (Lesson Plan, Worksheet, Problem sheet, and learning paper) and then design research instruments, (3) Realize the IBL model and supporting learning material that was design to be First Draft, (4) Do validation of the first draft, testing the IBL model in the classroom, and then do revisions, (5) Conduct Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to evaluate the result of IBL model testing in the classroom, then will be revised to the next IBL model testing. The results of the reasearch were produce IBL model and supporting learning material (Lesson Plan, Worksheet, Problem sheet, and learning paper) with scientific approach in solving problems to increase mathematics students’ achievement that valid, practical and effective. These are steps of IBL model in the classroom, (1) Opening with apperception, motivations and build students’ positif perceptions, (2) Students divided into several groups, (3) Teacher explains the material generally, (4) Group discussion with 5M activity (based on Scientific approach), (5) Exercise to solve open ended problem individually with steps that could appear students’ intuition: Preparations, Inkubation, Ilumination and Verification, (6) Closure with review of students have learned or giving homework.Keywords: Development of model, Learning model, intuition, scientific approach, students’ achievement.

Abstract

Abstract: This research used qualitative approach which aims to describe the factors of student’s creative thinking in mathematical problem solution on probability for male students and female students. The methods used in this study were interviews and tests. The data validation has done by triangulation. The data was obtained from interviews and tests of creative thinking skills in mathematics learning. This tests was composed of five categories: fluency, flexibility, originality,  elaboration, and redefinition which are the factors of the creativity. The research was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan in October until November 2013. The task-based interviews and tests were conducted to collect data from the 11th grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan grade XI Program IPA. Selection of subjects was based on male student and female student. Snowball method was used to determine subject research. Subjects were seven students grade XI Program IPA on SMA Negeri 1 Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan academic year 2013/2014. The result showed that the male students had the factors of creative thinking ability on fluency, flexibility, originality, and redefinition. The male students did not have enough the factor of creative thinking ability on elaboration. The female students had the factors of creative thinking ability on fluency, flexibility and originality. The female students did not have the factors of creative thinking ability on elaboration and redefinition.Keywords:  student’s creative thinking, factors of creative thinking, gender.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to determine: (1) which model produces better learning achievement TGT, TAI, or direct learning model, (2) to find out which one has the better learning achievement between students with high creativity, moderate or low creativity, (3) to determine which one gives better learning achievement between cooperative learning model TGT, TAI or Direct for each student creativity, (4) to find out which one gives the better learning achievement among students who have high creativity, moderate creativity or lower creativity in each of the learning model.This study was a quasi-experimental study with a 3 x 3 factorial design. The sampling technique was done by stratified cluster random sampling. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire and math achievement tests. The instrument has been tested by some experts before it is used to conduct trials. Hypothesis testing used two- way Anava with unbalanced cells. Before the Anava test, research data are tested first by test analysis requirements that were test for normality and homogeneity test. The results of two- way Anava analysis show: (1) learning model of TGT and TAI produce better learning achievement, compared to the direct instructional model, while the learning model of TAI and TGT has no difference; (2) Students who have high creativity and moderate creativity have a better learning achievement than the students who have low creativity, the students who have high creativity have better learning achievement than the students who have moderate creativity;  (3) students who have creativity of high, moderate or low have on the model TGT learning and TAI have better learning achievement compared to the direct instructional model, while the learning model TGT produce the same learning achievement as TAI learning model; (4) cooperative learning model TGT, TAI and Direct give better result for students who have high and moderate creativity than students  who have low creativity, as well as the students who have high creativity provide a better learning achievement than moderate creativity.Keywords: Learning TGT, TAI, and creativity

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar tentang batik yang dapat digunakan sebagai sumber belajar peserta didik kelas 5 sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Ngawi. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian dan pengembangan dengan metode four-D yang dilaksanakan sampai tahap tiga yaitu develop atau pengembangan. Hasil dari Forum Group Discussion belum ada buku ajar yang digunakan untuk membantu mengenalkan motif batik khas Ngawi. Produk yang dibuat berupa buku ajar “Ayo Membatik”. Produk ini diuji kelayakannya untuk mengetahui kevalidan buku bahan ajar motif batik Ngawi. Hasil uji kelayakan produk ini dinyatakan layak oleh para ahli yaitu ahli media, ahli meteri dan ahli praktisi. Hasil penilaian ahli media yaitu 91% dan dalam kategori sangat baik. Hasil persentase penilaian dari ahli materi 88% dan masuk kategori sangat baik. Hasil uji kelayakan menyatakan produk layak untk diujicobakan di lapangan. Hasil pesentase ahli praktisi yaitu 87% dan dinyatakan dalam kategori sangat baik. Produk ini kemudian dilakukan uji coba terbatas dengan responden pesera didik kelas 5 dan guru di SDN Jogorogo 3 memperoleh hasil presentasi masing-masing 80% dan 78%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve problem solving skill of plane geometry by applying Auditory Intellectually and Repetition (AIR) learning model bases Flashcard in the fifth grade students of State Elementary School Mangkubumen Kulon No.83 in academic year 2017/2018. This form of research is a Classroom Action Research and it was conducted three cycles. Each cycle consists of four steps there are planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques are using tests, observations, interviews and documentation. Data validity tests are using content validity and triangulation. Data analysis technique used is the interactive model. The result of the assessment of study activity and teacher performance appraisal also increase. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that through the application of Auditory Intellectually and Repetition (AIR) learning model bases Flashcard can improve improve problem solving skill of plane geometry for V grade students of SD N Surakarta in the academic year 2017/2018.

Abstract

Kompetensi dalam kurikulum 2013 adalah mengembangkan kreativitas, rasa ingin tahu, kemampuan merumuskan pertanyaan untuk membentuk pikiran kritis yang perlu untuk hidup cerdas dan belajar sepanjang hayat sehingga, siswa perlu dibekali dengan kemampuan-kemampuan tertentu untuk mengembangkan dan mengevaluasi argumen dalam suatu pemecahan masalah tertentu. Salah satu kemampuan yang harus dikembangkan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis. Kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah kemampuan untuk mengidentifikasi, menganalisis, dan memecahkan masalah secara kreatif dan logis sehingga mampu menghasilkan keputusan yang tepat. Sementara itu, kemampuan berpikir kreatif dipengaruhi oleh keyakinan akan kemampuan diri yang dinamakan self efficacy. Self-efficacy ini berbeda dengan aspirasi (cita-cita), karena cita-cita menggambarkan sesuatu yang ideal yang seharusnya (dapat dicapai), sedang efikasi menggambarkan penilaian kemampuan diri. Untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir  kritis dan self efficacy, pembelajaran matematika haruslah mengarah pada soal-soal tidak algoritmik dan komplek dalam menyelesaikan suatu masalah atau tugas, dan juga tidak dapat diprediksi, pendekatan latihan yang tepat, atau petunjuk yang tegas yang disarankan oleh tugas, petunjuk tugas atau contoh jalan keluar. Soal-soal yang seperti itu dikategorikan soal Higher Order Thingking (HOT). Oleh karena itu, soal kategori Higher Order Thingking (HOT) dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self efficacy siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika siswa di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the learning process, the students’ activities, and the students’ learning achievement of cube roots after the implementation of SAVI model withEclipse Crosswordfor grade VI students. Utilizing an Action Research (AR), the procedures of this study were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The participants were 13 students of grade VI from State Elementary School 1 in Sanan, Wonogiri in the academic year 2017/2018. The data were collected through journals of teaching and learning process, observation, post-test, and field notes, and interviews. The study revealed that the students’ activities were11.31categorized as inactive in pre-cycle, 15.54 categorized as fairly active in cycle I, and 24.85 categorized as active in cycle II.  The students’ activities also were categorized as fairly active in cycle I and active in cycle II. Mean of the students’ score had an improvement that was 57.69 with the minimum level of the learning mastery 38% in pre-cycle of grade VI in cube roots’ topics, 77.61 with the minimum level of the learning mastery 77% which had not reached the performance indicator of 80%, and 87.33 with the minimum level of the learning mastery 85% full filed the performance indicator. Therefore, the further cycle did not need to be conducted anymore. The teachers are suggested to design the lesson plan of SAVI model with Eclipse Crossword in order that the learning tools are designed well so that the students’ participation, activities, and learning achievement are above the minimum level of the learning mastery.

Abstract

Mathematics is very useful in everyday life. Based on this, mathematics is important to learn. Nevertheless, the facts found in the field of mathematics learning outcomes are still very low. Media learning is one of the things that can affect the quality of math learning. Based on the results of interviews and observations at SDN Dukuhan Kerten, it was found that there were problems with the limitations of mathematics learning media on the circumference and area of flat shapes. Therefore, this study aims to develop an interactive learning medium based on articulated storylines on the material circumference flat shapes and areas. This type of research is development research using a 4D research model (Define, design, development, and desiminate). The implementation of this research was carried out only at the development stage. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, observations, documentation studies, and questionnaires. The results of this study are valid learning media based on the percentage of material expert assessment of 89.3% and the percentage of media expert assessment of 93.1%. The results of this study are also in the form of practical learning media based on teacher assessments with a percentage of 96.4% and student assessments with a percentage of 91.54%.

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to describe the types and causes of learning difficulties for class IVB students at SDN 1 Gabusan on FPB and KPK materials during the Covid-19 pandemic based on logical mathematical intelligence. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method with a case study approach. Determination of the subject in the research using purposive sampling technique. This research uses test data collection techniques and task-based interviews. The data validity technique used in this research is time triangulation. Data analysis techniques include identifying all data, reducing data, compiling data in units, validating data to making conclusions. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the type of learning difficulty of students with high logical mathematical intelligence is difficulty in using correct mathematical procedures. The types of learning difficulties of students with moderate mathematical logical intelligence are difficulties in determining the right solution strategy and difficulties in using correct mathematical procedures. The types of learning difficulties of students with low logical mathematical intelligence are difficulties in understanding the given problem, difficulty in determining the right solution strategy, and difficulty in using correct mathematical procedures. The causes of learning difficulties for students with high logical mathematical intelligence are the limited learning time during the limited face-to-face implementation during the Covid-19 pandemic and the way teachers teach using the lecture learning method. The causes of learning difficulties for students with moderate mathematical logical intelligence are the limited learning time during the limited face-to-face implementation during the Covid-19 pandemic, the way teachers teach using the lecture learning method, and low interest in learning. The causes of learning difficulties in students with low logical mathematical intelligence are the limited learning time during the limited face-to-face implementation during the Covid-19 pandemic, the way teachers teach using the lecture learning method, low interest in learning, and an unsupportive family environment for learning. Abstract

Education is a complex service where qualityis defined. Disorders in the educational space require better services built around the improvement of educational program quality. Professional Pre-Service Elementary Teachers (PETs) are expected to have the ability to educate in the Disruptive Era (DE). This study aims to determine the perceptions of PEP (Professional Education Program) participants towards the appropriate science learning in DE. Qualitative descriptive method was employed to obtain data. The data for this study were collected using questionnaires and open-ended questions related to science learning that accelerate DE, given to 42 PETs in the Elementary School Teacher Education Program, Universitas Sebelas Maret. Based on the analysis of questionnaires and open questions related to science learning that accelerates DE, it can be concluded that the highest perceptions of PETs in the strongly-agree category are in the aspect of dynamic ability to change by 83%; and the lowest perceptions are in the aspects of entrepreneurship skill of 52%. Based on the findings, it is recommended that it be necessary to develop appropriate science-learning support frameworks in DE.
