Abstract

This study aims to examine the challenges faced by elementary school students in understanding number concepts. The approach used is a qualitative method with a case study design. Case studies were chosen because they provide the researcher with an opportunity to explore in-depth the specific difficulties experienced by students, both in terms of concept understanding, basic principles, and verbal abilities. Focusing on one context allows for the acquisition of richer and more meaningful data regarding the challenges in learning number addition. Data collection was conducted through reviewing several journal articles, analyzing the issues, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that students often face obstacles in understanding number concepts, the principles of number addition, and in expressing their understanding verbally. Several contributing factors include a lack of precision when solving problems, failure to check answers, incorrect understanding of number formulas, inability to understand the intent of the questions, and difficulty in representing numbers visually. These findings can be used by classroom teachers as a reference to identify and address problems experienced by students. This contextual information is highly valuable in designing more effective teaching strategies to help students overcome difficulties with number concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of collaboration between teachers, parents, and communities in creating effective and relevant educational innovations in schools. In the era of globalization and rapid technological advancements, the challenges in education have become more complex and require collective efforts from various stakeholders. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a case study design in several schools that have successfully implemented a collaborative model involving teachers, parents, and communities in developing educational innovations. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, parents, and community leaders, participatory observations, and document studies. Thematic analysis was used to identify key themes related to the dynamics of this collaboration. The findings reveal that strong collaboration can enhance the quality of learning, strengthen parental involvement in the educational process, and create an environment that supports the holistic development of students. Key success factors include open communication, shared understanding of educational goals, and the utilization of local resources. However, the main challenges faced are time constraints, differing perceptions of each party’s role, and limited digital literacy among parents. The results of this study are expected to provide insights for policymakers and education practitioners in designing more effective strategies to strengthen collaboration in order to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Perkembangan sosial dan emosional anak di usia sekolah dasar sangat penting karena berpengaruh pada kemampuan mereka untuk berinteraksi dengan orang lain, mengelola emosi, dan membentuk pola pikir yang sehat. Salah satu faktor utama yang memengaruhi perkembangan ini adalah lingkungan belajar. Lingkungan yang mendukung, baik secara fisik, sosial, maupun psikologis, bisa memberikan dampak besar bagi perkembangan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh lingkungan belajar terhadap aspek sosial dan emosional anak di sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif melalui survei, observasi, dan wawancara yang melibatkan siswa, guru, dan orang tua mengenai kondisi lingkungan belajar di sekolah dan rumah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor seperti hubungan positif antara guru dan siswa, fasilitas belajar yang memadai, serta dukungan emosional dari keluarga, memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan perkembangan keterampilan sosial dan emosional siswa. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya menciptakan lingkungan yang inklusif dan aman untuk mendukung perkembangan anak secara menyeluruh. Berdasarkan hasil ini, disarankan agar pendidik dan orang tua lebih memperhatikan elemen-elemen lingkungan yang dapat memengaruhi perkembangan sosial dan emosional anak di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Transformasi pendidikan di era digital dan Society 5.0 menuntut kurikulum yang tidak hanya menekankan pada pencapaian akademik, tetapi juga pembentukan karakter siswa yang adaptif, kritis, dan berintegritas. Kurikulum Merdeka hadir sebagai respons terhadap tantangan ini, dengan menawarkan pendekatan yang lebih fleksibel, pembelajaran berbasis proyek, serta penguatan nilai-nilai Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana Kurikulum Merdeka berkontribusi dalam membangun karakter siswa di tengah perkembangan teknologi digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka terhadap 15 jurnal ilmiah nasional terakreditasi yang terbit dalam lima tahun terakhir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka mendorong Qintegrasi pendidikan karakter dengan literasi digital, meningkatkan kemandirian belajar, dan memperkuat keterampilan sosial-emosional siswa. Namun, tantangan seperti kesenjangan digital, keterbatasan kompetensi guru, dan resistensi terhadap perubahan masih perlu diatasi melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan dan kolaborasi antara sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat. Temuan ini memperkuat urgensi penguatan karakter sebagai inti dari pendidikan di era digital melalui desain kurikulum yang kontekstual dan transformatif.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of technology-driven adaptive learning on elementary students’ mastery of mathematical concepts. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental design, sixth-grade students were assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group received four weeks of instruction via Quipper School Premium, an AI-based adaptive platform, while the control group engaged in traditional learning. A 25-item conceptual understanding test was administered, and data were analyzed through validity, reliability, normality, and homogeneity tests, followed by an Independent Samples t-test. Results revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group’s post-test scores (t = 6.85; p < 0.001), indicating that adaptive learning enhances conceptual mastery through personalized pacing and real-time feedback. Implications include targeted teacher training in adaptive analytics, integration of adaptive modules into the Merdeka Curriculum, equitable access to devices, and secure data governance. Findings highlight the potential of AI-powered personalized learning to strengthen foundational mathematics, particularly in developing country contexts. Abstract

Indonesian language learning in elementary schools often struggles to enhance students’ motivation and competence, with conventional memorization-focused approaches proving ineffective. This study examined the effectiveness of a neuropedagogical approach, grounded in neuroscience and brain-based learning principles, on motivation and language competence. Using a quasi-experimental design, 70 fourth-grade students were assigned to experimental and control groups. The intervention applied multisensory activities, movement-integrated learning, emotional anchoring, and metacognitive reflection. Data from validated tests on reading, writing, speaking, listening, and motivation were analyzed using t-tests and n-gain scores. The experimental group achieved a high n-gain (0.76) compared to the control group (0.04), indicating significant improvement. Findings suggest integrating teacher training and curricula with brain-compatible strategies to foster intrinsic motivation and linguistic competence. This research highlights the potential of neuroscience-informed instruction to optimize language learning outcomes, with future studies recommended to explore long-term effects and broader implementation. Abstract

This study aims to describe the conditions and challenges in the implementation of inclusive education in elementary schools. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation in three inclusive elementary schools. The findings indicate that the implementation of inclusive education still faces various obstacles. As many as 80% of teachers admitted that they had not participated in inclusive education training in the past two years. Furthermore, 65% of students with special needs (SEN) experienced difficulties in basic skills such as reading and writing, while the remaining 35% encountered social and emotional barriers. On the parental side, 70% stated that they were helped by the existence of small group learning activities at school. Additionally, inclusive physical facilities were fully available in only one of the three schools, and the use of technology such as text-to-speech was implemented in only one school with limited frequency. Despite these challenges in infrastructure and human resources, social interactions between regular students and SEN students were relatively positive, with 85% of regular students showing cooperative attitudes toward their classmates with special needs. This study emphasizes the need for ongoing teacher training, provision of accessible facilities, and strong policy support and government oversight to realize fair and sustainable inclusive education.Keywords:  inclusive education, elementary school, students with special needs, support teachers, education policy.

Abstract

Abstrak Pelatihan "Penggunaan Alat Peraga dan Media Digital dalam Pembelajaran Matematika" bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan alat peraga dan media digital untuk memperbaiki pengajaran matematika. Pembelajaran matematika yang efektif sering kali terkendala oleh metode yang kaku dan kurang menarik. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan ini mengadopsi pendekatan inovatif yang menggabungkan alat peraga fisik dan teknologi digital untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih interaktif dan menyenangkan. Melalui berbagai kegiatan praktis seperti simulasi kelas, diskusi kelompok, dan penggunaan aplikasi pembelajaran berbasis teknologi, pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengajarkan konsep-konsep matematika yang abstrak dengan cara yang lebih konkret. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa 85% peserta mengalami peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan, terutama dalam penggunaan teknologi dalam pengajaran matematika. Walaupun demikian, tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah bagaimana mengintegrasikan teknologi tersebut secara efektif dalam pembelajaran sehari-hari. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan berkelanjutan sangat dibutuhkan untuk memastikan guru dapat mengimplementasikan pengetahuan yang diperoleh dalam kelas mereka. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat kapasitas guru dalam mengembangkan metode pengajaran yang lebih menarik dan efektif, serta meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika secara keseluruhan. Abstract

This study aims to examine the various issues faced by elementary school (SD) students in solving problem-solving tasks in mathematics through a literature review approach. Problem-solving is one of the essential skills in mathematics learning, closely linked to higher-order thinking abilities. However, several research findings indicate that many elementary school students struggle to understand and solve problem-solving tasks. This study collects and analyzes various literature sources, including national journals, scientific articles, and relevant reference books. The findings reveal that common issues faced by students include: (1) insufficient understanding of basic mathematical concepts, (2) difficulties in reading and understanding word problems, (3) limitations in formulating problem-solving strategies, and (4) lack of reflection and evaluation skills regarding the obtained answers. In addition to the internal factors of students, external aspects such as less contextual teaching approaches, limited use of engaging learning media, and insufficient support from the learning environment also contribute to these problems. This study recommends strengthening a systematic and adaptive problem-solving-based learning approach from an early age to enhance students' critical thinking abilities in mathematics.
