Abstract

This study examines the integration of Islamic communication values in the philosophy of Poda Na Lima among the Mandailing ethnic community. In the context of increasing globalization and digital influence, local wisdom plays an important role in preserving ethical and cultural identity. This research aims to analyze how the principles of Poda Na Lima function as a framework for Islamic communication in social, cultural, and spiritual life. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, drawing data from scholarly journals, books, cultural documents, and previous studies related to Islamic communication, Mandailing local wisdom, and Poda Na Lima. The data were analyzed through descriptive-analytical techniques by interpreting the philosophical meanings of Poda Na Lima and their relevance to Islamic communication principles. The findings reveal that the five elements of Poda Na Lima Paias Rohamu, Paias Pamatangmu, Paias Parabitonmu, Paias Bagasmu, and Paias Pakaranganmu represent a holistic ethical system that integrates verbal and nonverbal communication, personal integrity, social harmony, and environmental responsibility. These values correspond closely with Qur’anic teachings on purification, truthful speech, mutual respect, deliberation, and stewardship of the environment. The study concludes that Poda Na Lima serves as a culturally embedded model of Islamic communication that strengthens interpersonal relationships, reinforces social cohesion, and sustains moral values within the Mandailing community in the modern era

Abstract

Embryogenesis in plants represents the developmental process that establishes the body plan and fundamental tissue organization from a single fertilized cell, the zygote. This process involves a series of tightly regulated events that include asymmetric cell division, genetic signaling, hormonal regulation, and tissue differentiation leading to the establishment of the root, shoot, and vascular systems. Recent advances in molecular biology and microscopy have provided new insights into how spatial and temporal gene expression contributes to early pattern formation. This literature study aims to examine the patterns and current problems in the development of basic structural organization during plant embryogenesis. Based on the review of recent studies, it is evident that genes such as WOX, YODA, GNOM, and MONOPTEROS play essential roles in cell fate determination and polarity establishment, while the phytohormone auxin acts as a central morphogen controlling the formation of the embryonic axis. Furthermore, epigenetic regulation, including DNA methylation and histone modification, has been shown to influence embryogenic competence in various plant species. Current challenges include limited visualization of the earliest zygotic stages, species-specific variations in developmental patterns, and the difficulty of elucidating molecular mechanisms underlying somatic embryogenesis. This review contributes to understanding the fundamental molecular and physiological mechanisms of plant development and provides valuable insights for biotechnological applications such as somatic embryo induction, genetic transformation, and large-scale plant regeneration systems.

Abstract

Surah An-Nisa, verse 43 of the Al-Qur'an, stipulates that individuals in a state of junub are forbidden from entering the mosque. Numerous fiqh and tafsir scholars subsequently associated this restriction with menstruation women, so restricting their entry into mosques. This study seeks to investigate the function of mosques and women within the context of Qur'anic da'wah, particularly on the restriction on menstrual women, notably preachers, from visiting mosques. This research is qualitative and descriptive, employing a library research methodology that entails gathering data from several scientific publications, interpretations of the Al-Qur'an, and the perspectives of ulama concerning the regulations and etiquette for menstruation women in mosques. This study seeks to link these laws to the objectives of da'wah, particularly concerning women's involvement in religious and social activities within mosques. This research indicates two perspectives on the restriction of menstruation women from attending mosques. Rigid beliefs entirely forbid menstruation women from attending mosques to preserve the sanctity of the prayer space. Conversely, lenient interpretations permit menstruation women to occupy the mosque vicinity, provided they refrain from entering the prayer area and uphold decorum in accordance with Shari'a principles. Consequently, they may continue to engage in da'wah and religious instruction activities, provided they adhere to the etiquette prescribed by Shari'a. This research is new in its Qur'anic da'wah method, which underscores the significance of inclusivity and the role of women in da'wah within mosques, while adhering to established regulations. This research's conclusions examine the stringent and lenient perspectives of the ulama concerning these regulations

Abstract

The city of Surabaya is the capital of East Java Province. As a result, villagers looking for work are turning to the city. This triggered a large migration flow and the need for housing, leading to the emergence of illegal settlements in urban areas. One of them is Dupak Magersari Village, Jepara Village, Bubutan District. To overcome this problem, the government provides decent housing for low-income people (MBR) in the form of rental flats (rusunawa). However, low-cost flats often face issues such as poor maintenance, leaky roofs and pipes, and uncomfortable living environments. Therefore, behavioral architecture approaches are used in the planning and design of rusunawa as an alternative to sustainable and affordable living. This approach considers the relationship between a person's behavior and the surrounding environment. The design is made through macro and micro studies, such as accessibility for all groups, connectivity between buildings, forms that adapt to the concept of village, and flexible shared spaces according to the needs of residents. It is hoped that its implementation can create a safe and comfortable environment to live in, in harmony with the surrounding community and nature.

Abstract

The relatively rapid development in West Surabaya is not yet fully balanced by the availability of adequate and easily accessible educational facilities. Libraries, as centers of literacy and knowledge dissemination, are currently required to transform and keep pace with technological and societal advancements, as well as the needs of modern society. This discussion aims to explore a library design that utilizes an interactive technology approach by combining educational, recreational, and interactive functions, making it a more engaging, participatory, and relevant learning space for the current generation. The method used is descriptive qualitative thru the analysis of primary and secondary data, as well as visual documentation. The design results show the application of interactive technology on the facade and library facilities with a contemporary architecture theme, such as the use of transparent LED screens and glass walls that support natural lighting as well as informative functions. Additionally, facilities such as the Light Sensory Room, Virtual Reality, Hologram LED Board, Wall Touch Screen, and Humanoid Robotics are designed to create an immersive, innovative, and collaborative learning experience. Thus, this library not only serves as a repository of information but also as a modern educational tool that is interactive and aligned with current technological developments. Abstract

The rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros L.) is a major pest of oil palm that can reduce production and even cause mortality in immature plants. An environmentally friendly alternative for its control is the use of entomopathogenic bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). This study aimed to determine the effect of different Bt concentration on the mortality of O. rhinoceros larvae, identify the most efficient concentration, and estimate the lethal concentration (LC50), and lethal time (LT50). The experiment consisted of six treatments (0%, 4%, 5%, 6%, 7%, and 8%) with four replications. Observed variables included morphological changes, larval mortalty, LC50, and LT50 values. The results showed that Bt had a significant effect on larval mortality. The 7% concentration was the most efficient, resulting in 98.8% mortality at 14 days after application (DAA) with the fastest LT50 of 7 days. The 6% and 8% treatments also achieved 100% mortality at 20 DAA but had longer LT50 (9 days). Symptoms of infection were characterized by larval bodies becoming darkened, softened, and emitting a foul odor. It can be concluded that the 7% Bt concentration was the most efficient in controlling O. rhinoceros larvae in vitro and has potential as a biological control agent to replace chemical insecticides.
