Abstract

Creativity is one of the skills that a person must have in order to survive in this era of uncertainty. Creativity needs to be developed from an early age, including in elementary school learning. This research aims to develop science flipbook media (flipsains) based on differentiated learning integrated with STEAM and Tri-N approaches in increasing elementary school students' creativity. This research uses a development research method with ADDIE stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects studied in this research were fourth grade elementary school students, totalling 17 students in the limited trial and 56 students in extensive trial. Data collection techniques in this research were carried out using observation, interviews and questionnaires. The analysis technique for this research was carried out using qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The results of this research show that flipsains media was produced with characteristics based on differentiated learning which was designed with an initial assessment, equipped with various kinds of videos and various projects. Flipsains was also developed according to elements of the STEAM approach and the Tri-N Method. The validation results show that the flipsains developed is said to be valid with validation results of 90.2% with very feasible criteria. The developed flipsains has also proven to be effective in increasing elementary school students' creativity as evidenced by the increase in observation scores of students' creativity skills in limited trials and extensive trials.

Abstract

The era globalization has an impact on culture, especially on use of the Indonesian language, particularly among students. Ease of accessing information and interacting with foreign cultures through the internet and social media often encourages use of foreign languages or mixed languages in daily communication. This phenomenon can erode the proper and correct use of Indonesian language, even potentially shifting the preference Indonesian as the primary language and identity. The purpose of this article is to preserve use of the Indonesian language among students. Eight from Kayumas 2 elementary school participated in this research. Furthermore, the data collection techniques involved interviews and active participation observations. Then, data analysis of this research includes data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion drawing. The findings of this study indicate that parental involvement plays important role in maintaining students’ interest in using Indonesian language. Therefore, this research aims to identify specific challenges faced in preserving Indonesian language, as well as the innovative strategies implemented by teachers in facing this era globalization. The research results are expected to provide insights into efforts to preserve Indonesian language at school level and implications for character formation and national identity among students at Kayumas 2 elementary school.

Abstract

Abstract

Reading skills are fundamental competencies for elementary school students, yet early grade students often face difficulties due to the lack of engaging learning media appropriate to their developmental characteristics. Learning activities will be more meaningful if supported by media that can motivate students, especially those aged 7–8 years, who are still dominated by a strong sense of play. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of syllable card media in improving the reading readiness of elementary school students. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. The study involved 14 first-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The syllable card media consisted of cards containing syllables that could be combined to form new words, encouraging active student participation in reading activities. The results indicate that the use of syllable card media significantly improves students’ reading readiness, particularly in recognizing syllables, forming words, and increasing reading motivation. The implications suggest that syllable card media can serve as an effective alternative learning medium to foster reading readiness among early-grade elementary students.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary school faces challenges in improving student outcomes because of the conventional teaching methods. The limited integration of technology in the learning process results in low student engagement and suboptimal conceptual understanding. This study aims to determine the impact of using Wordwall learning media to improve the math learning outcomes of third-grade students. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with instruments in the form of test questions. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests and observations. This research was conducted at one of the elementary schools in the city of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The research sample involved students in two classes; each class had 30 students. The research findings show that there is a difference in the average learning outcomes between the two classes. The experimental class obtained an average score of 89.60, while the control class achieved an average score of 83.33. The increase in the average score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. The results of this study it was found that the significance level of the research results is 0.013 < 0.05. It means that the use of Wordwall learning media affects students' mathematics outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to provide a description related to the analysis of teacher and student needs in the development of PjBL-based interactive media to improve the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The research method uses descriptive qualitative research. The results of the teacher needs analysis showed that out of 130 elementary school teachers in the Klaten district, 86.92% of teachers responded that it was necessary to develop interactive media based on project-based learning, and 13.08% of teachers stated that it was not necessary to develop interactive media. Thus, it can be concluded that the development of interactive media based on project-based learning still really needs to be developed. Then, 65 students who were given the question sheet gave answers that 44.62% of students gave answers that teachers only use textbooks in the learning process, 24.62% of students gave answers that they use interactive media in learning, and 75.38% gave responses that students in learning at class do not use interactive media.

Abstract

This study analyzes students' reading skills decline at SD Negeri 2 Rejoso based on the education quality report card for the past three years. The difficulties faced by students include information comprehension, critical thinking, and ethical development. The study aimed to improve reading literacy skills using Word Wall digital learning media integrated with local culture in Gondang Winangun. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which analyzed 25 journal articles from 2019 to 2024. Inclusion criteria included articles that addressed the use of digital media in reading learning, while exclusion criteria eliminated irrelevant studies or did not focus on the primary education context. The data analysis techniques used were qualitative and quantitative analysis. The review results showed that 80% of the articles analyzed reported improvement in students' reading ability after applying Word Wall media. This finding confirms the importance of developing and implementing locally relevant digital learning media to improve reading literacy among primary school students.
