Abstract

Obesity is a rapidly increasing global health problem and requires effective intervention strategies. Low-carbohydrate diets have become a major concern in obesity management, but previous studies have provided mixed results. This study aims to conduct a meta-analysis to evaluate the effect of a low-carbohydrate diet on weight loss in obese patients. The research method used in this research is meta analysis. A literature search was conducted through electronic databases for studies that met the inclusion criteria. Data from selected studies were then analyzed using meta-analysis methods to determine the effects of low-carbohydrate diets on weight loss. The results of this study stated that the meta-analysis involved data from 10 studies that met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that a low-carbohydrate diet significantly contributed to weight loss in obese patients. The average weight loss achieved was significantly higher in the group on a low-carbohydrate diet compared to the control group. The conclusion of this study, namely from this meta-analysis, shows that a low-carbohydrate diet is effective in reducing weight in obese patients. The clinical implication of these results is that low-carbohydrate diets may be an effective therapeutic option in the management of obesity. However, further research needs to be done to understand in more depth the long-term effects and safety of this low-carbohydrate diet. Through this research, it is hoped that it can provide a deeper understanding of the effectiveness of a low-carbohydrate diet as an obesity management strategy.

Abstract

Adolescent mental health is an important issue that needs serious attention, considering its impact on the quality of life in the future. Recently, attention to the relationship between mental health and gut bacteria (gut microbiota) has increased. Probiotic supplements have been identified as one possible way to improve adolescent mental health through their influence on the gut microbiota. This study aimed to explore the effects of probiotic supplements on adolescent mental health, focusing on symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress. The research was conducted using a randomized controlled experimental design, with adolescent participants aged between 13-18 years. Participants were divided into two groups, where one group received probiotic supplements during the study period, while the control group received a placebo. Internationally recognized scales were used to measure symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress before and after the intervention. The results showed that adolescents who received probiotic supplements experienced a significant reduction in symptoms of anxiety and depression compared to the control group. In addition, stress levels also showed a significant reduction in the group receiving probiotic supplements. The implementation of this study provides promising initial evidence of the positive effects of probiotic supplementation on adolescent mental health. With this research, the application of probiotic supplements as a mental health intervention in adolescents becomes an attractive alternative. However, further research is needed to understand the mechanisms underlying the relationship between probiotic supplements and adolescent mental health and to determine the most effective dosages and formulations.

Abstract

An unbalanced diet can have a negative impact on people's nutritional status. Therefore, nutrition training is considered an effective intervention strategy to improve diet and nutritional status. This research aims to evaluate the effect of nutrition training on people's eating patterns and nutritional status through an intervention study. This research method uses an intervention approach with a pre-test and post-test design involving people randomly selected from a certain area. Nutrition training is held with a focus on understanding balanced nutrition and implementing healthy eating patterns. Dietary pattern data was collected through questionnaires, and nutritional status analysis was carried out by measuring nutritional and anthropometric parameters before and after the intervention. The research results showed a significant increase in people's understanding of balanced nutrition and positive changes in their eating patterns after attending nutrition training. Apart from that, there have been substantial improvements in people's nutritional status, such as increasing body mass index (BMI) and optimal nutritional levels. This research concludes that nutrition training is effective in improving healthy eating patterns and the nutritional status of the community. This shows the importance of a focused intervention approach to increase nutritional awareness and behaviour in an effort to improve overall community health. This research makes an important contribution to the development of nutritional intervention strategies that can be widely applied to enhance community welfare. Therefore, it is recommended to pursue further research with a focus on the long-term effects of nutrition training and increasing accessibility to nutrition resources.

Abstract

The integration of nanotechnology into medicine has revolutionized genetic-based diagnostics and therapeutic interventions, offering unprecedented precision in disease detection and treatment. Advances in nano-medicine have enabled early-stage disease identification, targeted drug delivery, and personalized medical treatments, particularly in oncology, neurology, and rare genetic disorders. Despite these advancements, challenges such as biocompatibility, scalability, and regulatory approval remain significant barriers to widespread clinical implementation. This study aims to analyze the impact of nano-medicine on genetic-based diagnosis and therapy, assess its effectiveness in enhancing patient outcomes, and identify the obstacles limiting its adoption. A systematic review methodology was employed, analyzing peer-reviewed articles, clinical trial reports, and experimental studies from 2018 to 2024. The findings indicate that nano-medicine significantly improves genetic disease detection accuracy, enhances drug bioavailability, and minimizes adverse side effects through precision-targeted therapies. However, issues such as high development costs, ethical concerns, and long regulatory processes impede rapid integration into mainstream healthcare. This study concludes that nano-medicine represents a paradigm shift in genetic-based medical interventions, requiring further research in bioengineering optimization, regulatory framework standardization, and cost-effective production. Future studies should explore AI-driven nanotechnology applications and their role in improving real-time genetic diagnostics and personalized therapies.
