Abstract

Guidance and counseling services play a crucial role in student development, yet misconceptions about their implementation persist. This study aimed to examine students' knowledge and misunderstandings regarding counseling services in schools, focusing on their perceptions of counseling roles and effectiveness. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, data were collected from 62 students of the FKIP Counseling Guidance Program at Pattimura University through a structured questionnaire. The results revealed significant misconceptions, with 75.81% of students believing that counseling is merely giving advice, 77.42% perceiving it as limited to certain students, and 74.19% viewing school counselors as "school police." Additionally, challenges in implementation, such as inadequate professional training, lack of stakeholder coordination, and low student engagement, were identified. The findings highlight the need for enhanced communication, targeted awareness campaigns, and structured professional development for school counselors. This research contributes to the literature by emphasizing the necessity of counselor training programs and improved collaboration within schools. Future studies should explore intervention strategies to address these misconceptions and examine their long-term impact on counseling effectiveness in educational settings.

Abstract

Implementation of career guidance in SMEs requires supporting facilities so that the service objectives can be achieved effectively and efficiently. These facilities include not only physical infrastructure such as career guidance rooms and technology devices, but also resources such as reference materials and evaluation tools. Restricted facilities can hinder the process of optimum career planning for students. Availability of supporting facilities is essential in the implementation of career guidance in the middle school. The various stages in the implementation of the Pkm activities are: 1) Preparation, 2) Implementation, 3) Support, 4) Evaluation. As for the methods used to the goals of PKM are a) Lecture and class discussion; b) group discussion; c) questioning and answering. Results from the Pkm activities show that there are varying interests among the pupils in several professions. Polwan became the main choice with the number of fans reaching 13 (23.2%), followed by TNI as the second choice with 12 fans (21%). The doctor's profession ranks third with 8 fans (14.3%), while the police are in the fourth place with 7 fans (12.5%).

The sample consisted of 30 respondents taken using purposive sampling technique. The independent variable in this research is Group Guidance, while the variable related to this research is Social Phobia. This research uses quantitative methods with a survey approach. Furthermore, from the results of the t test analysis it is known that there is a significant influence between the variable (X) group guidance on the variable (Y) social phobia. This is proven by the results of the t test calculation of 5.491.  Meanwhile, ttable with df 28 of 5% is 2.048 which can be concluded that (Ha) is accepted and (H0) is rejected. From the analysis of research data, it was also obtained that the magnitude of the influence of group guidance on social phobia for drug rehabilitation inpatients was 51.8%. This is based on an efficiency of 51.8% with a positive influence, which means that the higher the group guidance provided, the higher the resilience of drug rehabilitation inpatients. Meanwhile, 48.2% are factors that influence the variable (Y) Social Phobia for drug rehabilitation inpatients which were not examined by researchers.

Abstract

Career women, engaged in the professional world with strong skills and education, face unique challenges when they get married. In addition to focusing on their careers, they must also prioritize household duties. Their multitasking and time management skills are tested, and success in both roles often depends on support, especially from their spouse. A systematic review of previous literature suggests that a lack of multitasking ability, effective time management, and social support may hinder career women's performance in their dual roles. The results of this study provide a deeper understanding of career women's dual role dynamics, especially in the context of husband support, dual role conflict, and coping strategies. Husband support was shown to have a significant positive correlation with career women's success in carrying out dual roles, while the level of optimism was not directly related to such success. In addition, it can provide a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by career women, as well as provide valuable insights for practitioners and policies to develop more effective strategies to support dual career management in various national contexts.

Abstract

The issue faced by the wives of drug offenders is the low level of social support, which can affect their psychological well-being. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling services in enhancing social support for the wives of drug offenders in correctional facilities. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a time-series design (O1-O4 pretest and O5-O8 posttest) to measure changes in the level of social support. The subjects of the study were 10 wives of drug offenders. The research instrument was a social support checklist developed using the Likert scale model. Data collection was carried out by administering the instrument during the pretest and posttest, while data analysis was conducted using N-Gain and Wilcoxon tests. The results of the study indicate that group counseling services were moderately effective in increasing social support, with a positive N-Gain value. Furthermore, the Wilcoxon test showed a Z value of -2.805b and Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.005, which indicates that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of group counseling services is effective in increasing social support for the wives of drug offenders.

Abstract

Abstract

Evaluation of Guidance and Counseling services demands an accurate and objective approach to ensure the effectiveness of the interventions provided. However, the utilization of statistics in the evaluation of BK services is still not optimal, especially in the context of data-based implementation. This study aims to identify and analyze trends in the utilization of statistics in the evaluation of counseling services through a literature review of national and international articles. The method used is a systematic literature review with a descriptive-analytic approach, including identification of the types of statistics used (descriptive and inferential), as well as statistical-based program evaluation techniques. The results showed that the use of statistics greatly contributes to assessing the effectiveness of services, designing needs-based programs, and increasing the accountability of counseling professionals. The conclusions emphasize the need for increased statistical literacy in counselor education as well as the development of evidence-based evaluative instruments. Further research is recommended to test the effectiveness of statistical-based evaluation models at various levels of education.
