Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Nearly every aspect of household life has been touched by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, including the amount and quality of food consumed by the family. This study aimed to examine the factors associated with unable to eat healthy and nutritious food onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. This study used data from Rapid Gender Assessment Survey developed by United Nations Women from September to December 2021. Totally 2,285 respondents aged >18 years old with access to mobile phones have been selected by random digit dialing (RDD). The multivariate analysis revealed living in the town, who graduated from secondary, primary, and no education, households with five or more members, income changes during the pandemic, and those who had not completed vaccine COVID-19 were 1.44; 1.57; 1.73; 2.06; 1.26; 2.74; 1.29 times more likely to be unable to eat healthy and nutritious food. In conclusion, 39.17% of respondents were unable to eat healthy and nutritious food, and factors of changes in income had the biggest impact. Future research could examine the impact of the pandemic on people's capacity to access and buy wholesome food.

Abstract

Infants are a nation's investment because they are the next generation for a nation. The quality of a nation can be determined by the quality of its infants at this time. Health problems during infancy can affect growth, especially disorders in the digestive tract such as diarrhea. Diarrhea affects the absorption of nutrients for the growth of children under five and diarrhea is the leading cause of infant mortality globally. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of diarrhea in children infants in Public Health Center Juntinyuat. This was an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional study design. The population under study was entire children aged 12-59 months in Public Health Center Juntinyuat with the total population of 1882 infants. The sample consisted of 94 selected children aged 12-59 months using Simple Random Sampling. According to the result of a simple logistic regression test, there was a relationship of nutritional status with p-value 0.002 (p <0,05), the existence of the trash with p-value 0.039 (p <0,05), and the presence of wastewater disposal facilities with p-value 0,008 (p <0,05) to diarrhea occurrence in infants Keywords: Diarrhea, Nutritional Status, The Existence of The Trash, The Presence of wastewater Disposal Facilities

Abstract

Schistosomiasis, known as snail fever is a parasitic disease caused byinfection with trematode worms of the genus Schistosomajaponica Sp (blood flukes) that live in the mesenterica vein or veins of the bladder. The purpose of this study was to determine epidemiological determinants in the incidence of Schistosomiasis in Lindu Plateau, Sigi Regency. The study applied observational analytic with case control method. The sample size used in this study consisted of 82 people representing 41 people for cases and 41 people for controls obtainedwith Simple Random Sampling. The result indicated that there were significant influence of the history of Schistosomiasis, with p value 0,000 (p < 0,05) and the utilization of health programs with p value of 0,020 (p < 0,05). While variable jobs p value 0,165 (p > 0,05), income p value 1,000 (p > 0,05) there is no influence on the incidence of Schistosomiasis. Based on the findings above, it can be inferred that the prevalence of the Schistosomiasis was still high, these disease is closely related to the behaviors or habits of the community. Keywords: Community Behavior, Lindu, Schistosomiasis,

Abstract

Schistosomiasis or also commonly called snail fever is a parasitic disease caused by trematodes worm infections of the genus Schistosoma japonica sp, with both male and female worms live in the mesenteric veins and urinary vessels. Hospes intermediary is snails from species Oncomelania hupensis lindoensis. The purpose of this study was to develop a predictive index based on community behavior on the incidence of Schistosomiasis in the Lindu Plateau, Sigi Regency. This study applied observational analytic study design using case control approach. The sample size consisted of 82 people representing 41 people in case group and 41 people in control group obtained using simple random sampling. The results of this study indicated eight candidates variables to be continued into  multiple logistic regression, namely: level of education (p value = 0.065), occupation (p value = 0.165), history of Schistosomiasis (p value = 0.045), the use of latrines (p value = 0.043), the use of water resources (p value = 0.000), passing through the focus area (p value = 0.016), the use of personal protective equipment (p value = 0.002) and customary activity on the rivers/ditches (p value = 0.000). The predictive index on the incidence of Schistosomiasis based on community behavior is as follows (-2.780 + 2.322*The use of water resources (Severe) + 1.773*customary activity on the rivers/ditches (Yes) + 1.486*Passing through the focus area (Yes) + 1.419*The use of personal protective equipment (Not used)). Predictive index on the incidence of Schistosomiasis obtained in this study can be used as a measuring tool to help health personnels in conducting screening so as to reduce the spread and transmission of Schistosomiasis and to carry out early prevention.  Keywords: Index, Schistosomiasis, Community behavior, Lindu
