Abstract

This research is a qualitative research aimed at describing the concept of punishment by Ibnu Sahnun and its application in the Islamic education system in Indonesia. This research is motivated by Ibnu Sahnun's ideology, which states that the purpose of education is the formation of ethics in general, and this idea aligns with the prevailing regulations in Indonesia. Considering the low quality of moral education in Indonesia, the application of Ibnu Sahnun's concept of punishment can enhance the morality of students while still focusing on its educational significance. Ibnu Sahnun's method of punishment is closely tied to the Islamic education system as it is based on the Quran and Sunnah, aiming to nurture God-fearing individuals and develop dynamic human beings for both worldly and hereafter well-being. This approach also aligns with Indonesia's regulations on punishment, emphasizing that teachers should not use punishment solely for "deterrence." The primary concern should be the internal or personal issues of the child/student. The punishment received by a child should motivate them to avoid repeating mistakes and to always follow school rules. The results of this research indicate that the implementation of Ibnu Sahnun's ideas in the Indonesian education system can: 1) promote diversity among individuals who understand egalitarianism (equality); 2) disseminate religious knowledge through education; 3) generate knowledge and attain maghfirah as a means of achieving the intended goals; 4) achieve worldly life; 5) seek sustenance; and 6) uphold noble morals.

Abstract

This study examines the optimization of Islamic Education (PAI) and Character Education learning through the integration of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) with digital technology at SMK Negeri 7 Surakarta. The CTL method is used to connect instructional materials with students' real-life experiences, while digital technology is leveraged to enhance their engagement and comprehension. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research collected data through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The findings suggest that integrating CTL and digital technology enhances student participation, deepens their understanding of religious concepts, and promotes critical and reflective thinking. However, challenges remain, such as low learning motivation, suboptimal Quranic reading skills, and a lack of internalization of religious values. To address these issues, teachers implement strategies such as habitual worship practices, project-based learning, and the use of interactive digital media. These findings affirm that integrating CTL and digital technology can create a more relevant, engaging, and meaningful PAI learning experience for vocational school students.

Abstract

This study describes the use of audio-visual technology as a medium for learning Arabic to improve listening skills for students. The problem of education and teaching is a fairly complex one where many factors influence it. One of these factors is the teacher. The success of teachers in delivering material depends on the smooth interaction between teachers and their students. The purpose of this study is to develop Arabic language learning using IT-based media by watching and listening to improve listening skills for students. The use of this learning medium has an influence on learning Arabic at SMK PPTQ MBS Daarun Najah Klaten based on audiovisuals, namely by increasing motivational learning, improving listening skills, increasing vocabulary mastery, improving speaking skills, making them easily accessible, and increasing creativity. Although learning media has its influence and advantages, it also has disadvantages that must be anticipated. The most prominent influence is in terms of shortcomings. The presence of audio-visual content has a negative impact that is not valuable to students; therefore, teachers must be facilitators who are engaged in filtering content so that teaching materials in the media are in accordance with learning objectives. Teachers also have an important role in fostering student learning motivation with various types of audio-visual learning; this is an obligation that must be carried out by teachers considering the optimization of the use of audio-visual-based learning media that use this information technology (IT). In its implementation, students must be able to develop their abilities independently after participating in information technology (IT)-based learning provided by the teacher. In this case, evaluation is also needed as an indication of student understanding. Evaluation can be in the form of written and oral tests.

Abstract

Technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), is rapidly advancing and transforming nearly all aspects of life, including education. In the context of Islamic Religious Education, technology can strengthen understanding of religious teachings as well as shape students' character and moral values. Digital literacy is becoming increasingly important, especially for IRE students, not just the ability to use technological devices, but also the critical capacity to understand and evaluate digital information. One way to enhance digital literacy in IRE is by utilizing AI technologies, such as Perplexity AI, which can assist students in accessing, analyzing, and interpreting religious information accurately and critically. Surveys show that 43% of students are already using AI. This study aims to explore how AI can improve digital literacy for IRE students at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. This research uses a phenomenological approach with a qualitative method to analyze the impact of AI in IRE learning. The findings indicate that AI, particularly Perplexity, accelerates the search for literature and provides broader access to information. However, there are challenges related to dependence on technology, which could weaken students' non-digital literacy skills. Despite this, the potential of AI in enriching the digital literacy of IRE students is significant.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has brought significant changes in the world of education, including in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in madrasah. One of the platforms that is widely used in supporting technology-based learning is Google Workspace for Education. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Google Workspace in Islamic Education learning in madrasah by looking at various educational institutions that have implemented it, with a library research approach. Data were collected from various academic journals and trusted sources to explore the benefits, challenges, and optimization strategies in using this platform. The results show that Google Classroom, Google Meet, Google Docs, Google Forms, and Google Drive have important roles in supporting more interactive and collaborative learning. However, some of the main challenges faced include limited internet access, lack of digital literacy among teachers and students, and constraints in online-based evaluation systems. Overcoming these obstacles requires continuous teacher training, provision of adequate infrastructure and development of learning methods that suit the needs of the madrasah. The implication of this study shows that the application of Google Workspace in PAI can improve learning effectiveness if supported by appropriate policies and adequate technological readiness. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for madrasahs in developing more effective and sustainable Islamic education digitization strategies. Keywords: Google Workspace for Education, Islamic Religious Education, Madrasah, Educational Technology, Digitalization of Learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the experiences and perceptions of millennial Muslim families in Artificial Intelligence-based applications used for Qur'anic learning and identify the challenges faced by millennial Muslim families. Secondary data research methods will be used in the research. To conduct this study, researchers need to read relevant literature from secondary sources that include journal articles and books on: AI technology in Islamic education; the implementation of AI technology in educational research; development of AI applications in learning the Qur'an. However, despite the advantages, the results of the study show that the application of AI in learning the Qur'an has various challenges. Primarily, they include a limited understanding of accent and voice pronunciation, a lack of social interaction that affects the spiritual aspects of the learning process, and ethical issues and user data privacy. Later, technological resistance changed among Muslim communities; This is also another factor that affects the acceptance of applications. In general, the study concludes that while AI is a useful tool in learning the Qur'an, a combined learning approach requires AI, as well as other interests in learning, bringing recommendations to improve effectiveness and provide a cohesive experience. App developers are advised to improve speech recognition technology, provide more varied datasets, incorporate automated tajweed scoring systems, and pay attention to data security and ethical considerations. It is recommended that more research be done to measure the efficacy of these apps through direct user experiments.
