Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution has driven various advancements in technology, one of which is marked by the emergence of the digital revolution that has impacted payment systems, including the use of electronic money (E-money) in financial transactions. The home industry plays a strategic role in supporting national economic development, where innovations in technology-based transaction systems have a significant impact on the sustainability and efficiency of their business activities. One of the rapidly developing innovations today is the use of e-money. The research method employed is a quantitative approach based on the UTAUT model. Data were collected through interviews and the distribution of questionnaires designed using a Likert scale, with questionnaire items based on the variables in the UTAUT model. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via the SmartPLS software. The results indicate that the intention to use e-money drives actual usage behavior. Ease of use and social influence enhance this intention, while perceived benefits have not yet emerged as a determining factor. Furthermore, facility support plays a crucial role in driving e-money usage within the home industry in Aceh.

Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa) is Indonesia’s primary food crop, yet its productivity is often threatened by leaf diseases such as Brownspot, Hispa, and Sheath Blight. To address the limitations of manual inspection, this study proposes an automated detection and classification framework based on deep learning, with a comparative evaluation of the YOLOv5 and YOLOv8 models. This study is novel in that it assesses the robustness of models across a variety of data sources, such as a public dataset collected under controlled conditions and a private dataset collected in the field that replicates real-world agricultural contexts. The experimental results suggest that YOLOv8 consistently outperforms YOLOv5 in a variety of evaluation metrics. YOLOv8 performed best on the private dataset, with a precision of 0.907, recall of 0.886, F1-score of 0.896, Intersection over Union (IoU) of 0.71, and mAP50 of 0.924 under the 90:5:5 data split configuration. It shows that it can detect things well even in difficult field conditions. Both models performed about the same on the public dataset; however, YOLOv8 was better at finding objects, as shown by higher mAP50–95 values. Both models also did a great job of classifying; however, YOLOv8 was better at generalising across different dataset distributions. These results demonstrate that YOLOv8, which operates without anchors, is a superior and more dependable method for the real-time detection of rice leaf disease. This study offers pragmatic insights for implementing advanced computer vision models in precision agriculture systems, particularly in resource-constrained, dynamic agricultural environments.

Abstract

Driving safety has become a crucial issue in Indonesia due to the high number of traffic accidents caused by driver fatigue, particularly drowsiness that triggers microsleep and temporary loss of consciousness. This study aims to develop a driver drowsiness detection system based on Arduino Nano and infrared eye blink sensor that detects drowsiness indicators through blink frequency and duration, evaluates the effectiveness of early warnings via buzzer, and identifies technical constraints to enhance reliability in driving simulations. The research method employs a research and development approach with an experimental design, involving 15 participants aged 19-25 years tested in normal conditions and drowsiness simulations for 30 minutes per session, with data collection through eye blink sensor, Arduino Nano, and subjective validation using the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale. Testing shows the system achieves a microsleep detection accuracy of 98% based on eye closure duration exceeding 500 ms and 96% accuracy based on blink frequency below 12 times per minute, with an average response time of 178 ms until buzzer activation, thus capable of providing early warnings before full microsleep occurs. The implications of this research offer a portable, low-cost solution without reliance on complex infrastructure for mitigating accident risks in developing countries, although it still requires optimization against environmental variations such as lighting and head movements for real-world applications on the road.

Abstract

As more and more people use electricity, we need a good way to monitor how much energy is being used in real-time. The goal of this study is to create and implement a system that can monitor how much power is being used in a room. The system will use a NodeMCU microcontroller and a YHDC SCT-013-000 current sensor, and the MQTT protocol will be used to send data. Current sensors measure the electric current in the power source. The NodeMCU then processes this information and sends it via WiFi to the server, where it is displayed on the monitoring application. This study uses hardware design, software design, and system testing methodologies to assess the performance and accuracy of the sensors used. When the device is turned off, the YHDC SCT-013-000 current sensor can read the electric current with a difference of 0.03 Amper. When the device is turned on, it can detect a current with a difference of 0.17 Amperes compared to a clamp multimeter. The system also connects to a WiFi network and provides data to the server using the MQTT protocol. This makes it possible to see how much electricity is being used in real-time through websites and apps. So, the built system can be used to monitor how much electricity is consumed in an easier, more efficient, and more useful way

Abstract

The global energy transition towards sustainable sources has driven massive integration of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) into electricity systems, yet their intermittent nature presents significant operational challenges, particularly in low-voltage distribution networks. This research investigates the application of Model Predictive Control (MPC) for optimal power flow management in a 220V electrical network integrated with photovoltaic generation. The study addresses two main problems: designing an effective MPC strategy to control active and reactive power flow against solar irradiance variability, and quantitatively evaluating its performance compared to conventional Proportional-Integral (PI) control. Using MATLAB/Simulink simulation, a radial 5-bus 220V distribution network model with 10 kVA PV capacity was developed. The MPC algorithm was implemented with a prediction horizon of 15 steps, control horizon of 5 steps, and 1-second sampling time, optimizing voltage regulation and power loss minimization while respecting system constraints. Simulation results across three operational scenarios—irradiance step change, load variation, and combined disturbance—demonstrated MPC's superior performance. Specifically, MPC maintained voltage within ANSI C84.1 limits (±5%) with a Voltage Regulation Index of 0.021-0.025, achieved faster recovery times (8-12 seconds versus 18-25 seconds for PI), and reduced total power losses by 15-18%. The anticipatory control capability of MPC effectively mitigated voltage deviations caused by rapid irradiance fluctuations and load changes. These findings confirm that MPC offers a robust, proactive solution for enhancing stability and efficiency in low-voltage distribution networks with high solar penetration. The research contributes to renewable energy integration literature and provides practical insights for grid operators in managing power quality challenges.

Abstract

Distribution transformer is one of the most important components in the distribution of electric power from distribution substations to customers. Distribution transformers that experience loads exceeding 80% of the transformer capacity will affect the life of the distribution transformer and can also affect the level and quality of service to consumers and have the potential for disruption. Therefore, it is necessary to take action so that the percentage of distribution transformer loading does not exceed the transformer capacity by installing an Insert Transformer. At PT. PLN (Persero) ULP SUBULUSSALAM KOTA, there is a transformer that experiences overloading that occurs at the SKI072-00 Distribution Substation of 96.016% and after the Insert Transformer is installed, the loading at the SKI072-00 substation becomes 43.27%. This proves that the installation of an Insert Transformer is a fairly good method for overcoming overload disturbances at the SKI072-00 Substation, so that it can extend the life of the transformer, improve the quality of service to customers and reduce the potential for disturbances because the transformer loading below 80% can work well.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examined the association between Academic Competency Test-Based Mathematics Learning (ACT-BML) and improvements in junior high school students’ mathematics achievement. The study was motivated by the implementation of Indonesia’s Academic Competency Test (ACT), which requires instructional approaches that align mathematics learning with standardized academic assessment. In addition, empirical evidence regarding the integration of ACT standards into classroom mathematics instruction remains limited. Method: A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The participants were 180 ninth-grade students from a junior high school in Langsa City, Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument consisted of 30 ACT-oriented mathematics achievement items that demonstrated satisfactory validity and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.872). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a paired-samples t-test, normalized gain (N-Gain), and Cohen’s d effect size. Findings: The results indicated substantial improvement in students’ mathematics achievement following the implementation of ACT-BML. The mean score increased from 37.89 on the pretest to 91.04 on the posttest. The paired-samples t-test revealed a statistically significant difference between the two measurements, t(179) = 54.561, p < .001. Furthermore, the mean N-Gain score was 0.8511, indicating a high level of improvement, while Cohen’s d of 4.07 reflected a very large within-group effect. Significance: This study contributes empirical evidence to the emerging literature on integrating Academic Competency Test standards into mathematics instruction. The findings suggest that ACT-BML may serve as a promising assessment-aligned instructional approach for strengthening students’ mathematics achievement and academic readiness. Nevertheless, further studies employing more rigorous experimental designs are required to establish causal effectivenes.
