Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' ability to develop teaching modules using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Recitation models. This study uses a non-experimental correlational quantitative method, which aims to identify and describe data related to the research variables. A sampling technique was used with 40 respondents. Data were obtained and analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and ANOVA. The results of the study determined that the average ability of students in developing teaching modules was 60.35 with a standard deviation of 7.614. The normality test showed that the data were normally distributed with a Skewness value of 0.020 and Kurtosis of -0.775. The ANOVA test yielded a significance value of <0.001, indicating that the PjBL and Recitation variables significantly influence students' ability to develop instructional modules. The coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.439 indicates that the independent variables together explain 43.9% of the variation in the dependent variable, i.e., the ability to develop instructional modules, with the remaining 56.1% influenced by other factors.

Abstract

The learning environment and interest in learning are two components that greatly influence students' learning outcomes. Students who have a suitable learning environment and high interest in learning tend to achieve high learning outcomes. However, students at SMAN 1 Kediri have a relatively poor quality learning environment and low interest in learning. Based on the data obtained, students' learning outcomes are low because more than 50% of them are classified below the Minimum Criteria for Mastery (KKM). Therefore, this study focuses on two variables that influence learning outcomes: the learning environment and interest in learning. This research uses a quantitative method. The population is the tenth-grade class with a total of 124 students, and a sample of 30 students is obtained using simple random sampling. Data from the tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Kediri for the academic year 2023/2024 were collected using questionnaires and tests. By using regression analysis, the following results were obtained: 1) There is a 4.3% influence of the learning environment on students' learning outcomes; 2) There is a 14.3% influence of interest in learning on learning outcomes; 3) There is a 40.2% combined influence of the learning environment and interest in learning on learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study investigates the ability of eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Gunung Sari in using past verbs in recount texts. The study was conducted because many students still experience difficulties in applying correct past verb forms when writing about past events. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to identify students’ level of ability in using past verbs in recount texts, to examine the difficulties they face, and to explore the strategies they use to overcome those difficulties. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected through a multiple-choice test as the main instrument, supported by a questionnaire and interviews. The participants of this study were 35 students from class VIII J of SMPN 1 Gunung Sari. The results show that the majority of students have low ability in using past verbs, with 82% of students categorized in the low level, while only 9% are categorized as high ability and 9% as medium ability. The questionnaire results reveal that the main difficulties experienced by students include forgetting the second form of irregular verbs, confusing regular and irregular verbs, and using the present tense instead of the past tense when writing recount texts. Furthermore, the interview results indicate that students try to overcome these difficulties by memorizing verb forms and asking teachers or classmates for help. However, these strategies are still limited and not fully effective in improving students’ grammatical competence. Therefore, more effective and contextualized grammar instruction is needed to help students improve their mastery of past verbs in recount texts.

Abstract

Write a brief summary of your research, including objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Limit to 250 words This study aims to analyze the impact of rural tourism development on poverty reduction in Loyok Tourism Village, with institutional support as a moderating variable. Using a quantitative approach, this research applies Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) to 379 respondents to examine causality and the mediating roles of community empowerment and income. The results indicate that tourism development has a positive and significant effect on community empowerment (t=14.685; p=0.000) and community income (t=14.243; p=0.000). Furthermore, empowerment (t=2.189; p=0.029) and community income (t=4.109; p=0.000) contribute significantly to poverty reduction. However, the analysis reveals that the mediating variables do not significantly mediate the effect, and institutional support fails to moderate the relationship between tourism development and poverty reduction (p=0.175). These findings suggest that the economic benefits of tourism are not yet inclusively distributed and that local-level institutional roles are not yet optimal in supporting the SDG 1 target.

Abstract

The paradigm shift in global tourism from mass tourism towards sustainable tourism, and now evolving into regenerative tourism, is driven by increasing environmental degradation and the limitations of sustainable approaches that only maintain conditions without restoring the damage already done. The urgency of this study lies in the importance of applying a transformative regenerative tourism approach that focuses on active ecosystem restoration, particularly on a community scale at the tourism village level which has limited environmental capacity, such as in Kembang Kuning Village, East Lombok Regency. This study aims to examine in depth regenerative tourism practices in environmental restoration and to assess the involvement of local communities as key actors in environmental management, to answer what constitutes concrete implementation and participation of the local community in the area. Using an exploratory qualitative research design, data were collected through observation techniques, in-depth interviews with key informants, and documentation, which were then analyzed using thematic analysis methods. The main findings of the study show that regenerative tourism in Kembang Kuning Village is realized through integrated environmental management, such as organic waste separation and the strengthening of collaborative governance based on mutual cooperation and local wisdom. These findings provide an important theoretical contribution to the literature on community-based regenerative tourism in Indonesia by proving that active community participation is able to shift tourism orientation towards long-term ecosystem restoration. In conclusion, regenerative tourism is effectively implemented at the rural level when supported by inclusive collaborative governance, with implications for the need for local government regulations and tourist awareness in conservation. Future research is recommended to conduct quantitative studies on the macro-economic impact and to develop specific metrics for measuring the success of regenerative tourism in other nature-based destinations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the service quality dimensions of tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy on visitor satisfaction at X Teros Tourism in Sapit Village, East Lombok Regency. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 102 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) approach with SmartPLS 4 software. The findings indicate that the proposed model has strong predictive power, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.810. Hypothesis testing reveals that empathy has a positive and significant effect on visitor satisfaction, with a path coefficient of 0.543 (t = 3.904; p < 0.001), while assurance also has a positive and significant effect, with a coefficient of 0.306 (t = 2.295; p = 0.022). In contrast, the dimensions of tangibles, reliability, and responsiveness do not significantly influence visitor satisfaction. These findings suggest that personal attention, care, trust, and the ability of tourism managers to create a sense of security are the primary determinants of visitor satisfaction in community-based tourism destinations. The study reinforces the applicability of the Expectancy Disconfirmation Theory and the SERVQUAL model in the context of rural tourism while providing practical implications for destination managers to prioritize interpersonal service quality alongside physical facilities. Furthermore, the findings contribute to the development of tourism management literature and provide evidence-based recommendations for improving visitor satisfaction and supporting the sustainable development of community-based tourism destinations.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceived learning experiences of followers of the Instagram account @mike.thechameleon in learning English speaking and how these experiences shape their learning motivation. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The data were collected through an open-ended questionnaire consisting of ten questions and semi-structured interviews involving 30 followers of @mike.thechameleon. The data were analysed thematically to identify recurring patterns in participants’ learning experiences, while the before-and-after self-rating scale results were used as descriptive support to illustrate changes in speaking aspects. The findings indicate that participants' experiences can be categorized into positive and negative experiences, with positive experiences being more dominant. Positively, participants perceived learning through the account as easy and useful short lessons, increased confidence and reduce anxiety, increased learning motivation, and a fun, relaxed, and non-formal learning environment, supported by short video content, repetition, and speaking challenges. The findings also reveal that three speaking aspects were influenced, namely fluency, pronunciation, and accuracy, with pronunciation showing the strongest improvement. in general, Instagram through the @mike.thechameleon account serves as a supportive supplementary learning medium that contributes to participants’ speaking development and learning motivation, particularly in pronunciation improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of colorful pictures as an instructional medium for improving English vocabulary achievement among tenth-grade students at SMKN 2 Mataram in the academic year 2024/2025. Employing a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, this study included 30 students as the sample. Data were collected through vocabulary tests administered before and after treatment using colorful pictures. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test confirmed non-normal distribution (p < 0.05 for both pre-test and post-test). Due to the non-normal distribution of the data, as confirmed by the Shapiro-Wilk test, the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test was used for statistical analysis. The pre-test mean score was 7.42 (SD = 1.27), while the post-test mean score significantly improved to 8.99 (SD = 1.16), yielding a gain score of 1.57. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test produced T+ = 435, which exceeded the critical value of 147 at α = 0.05, with p-value < 0.001. These results indicate that the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted, confirming that colorful pictures significantly improve students' vocabulary achievement. Brief practical implications suggest that this strategy is accessible, low-cost, and engaging for SMK contexts. The findings support Dual Coding Theory, which posits that simultaneous verbal and visual encoding enhances memory retention. This study contributes empirical evidence that colorful pictures are an effective, accessible, and engaging instructional strategy for vocabulary teaching in Indonesian vocational high school (SMK) contexts.
