Abstract

This study aims to analyse the limitations of the role of the Loyok Village government in managing the potential of a cultural tourism village based on bamboo handicrafts, as well as to understand institutional dynamics and the conditions of local actors in tourism development. Loyok Village is known as a centre of bamboo craftsmanship in East Lombok; however, tourism management in the village has not yet operated optimally. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving village officials, artisans, and tourism actors as informants selected through purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, limited participant observation, and document analysis, then analysed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with source triangulation to ensure validity. The findings reveal that the village government does not yet have adequate regulations, including the absence of a Village Regulation specifically on tourism villages, which results in ineffective coordination, guidance, and facilitation functions. Institutions such as BUMDes and Pokdarwis have also not played an optimal role, while tourism development instead relies heavily on the self-reliance of artisans. Tourist visits occur in an unstructured manner, economic benefits are unevenly distributed, and the regeneration of artisans faces challenges due to low interest among the younger generation. The study concludes that weak governance and limited coordination among actors are the main factors hindering the development of Loyok Village as a sustainable cultural tourism village.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of local communities in the management of community-based tourism (CBT) in Labuhan Haji Beach, East Lombok, as well as identify challenges and strategies to strengthen this role in supporting the sustainability of coastal tourism. The method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies. The informants consisted of Pokdarwis administrators, tourism business actors, village governments, and domestic tourists. The results of the study show that local communities play a role in four main aspects: (1) destination operational management (cleanliness, security, tourism services), (2) environmental and cultural preservation, (3) local economic development through diversification of tourism businesses, and (4) participation in local institutions, especially through Pokdarwis. Apart from this, the level of community participation is still at the consultative and functional level, not yet achieving strategic partnerships in decision-making. The main challenges include weak human resource capacity, limited capital, unstable Pokdarwis institutions, lack of infrastructure, and not optimal digital promotion of destinations. This study recommends strengthening strategies through community capacity building, inclusive co-management models, development of cultural and ecological-based tourism products, and marketing digitalization. These findings contribute to strengthening the implementation of CBT in coastal areas as well as practical implications for governments and tourism stakeholders.

Abstract

This study examines strategies for optimizing human resource management (HRM) to enhance operational effectiveness in a community-based hospitality enterprise, Peraja Coffee and Bungalow, located in East Lombok. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving six key informants representing managerial and operational roles. The data were analyzed thematically through systematic coding, categorization, and interpretation. The findings reveal that HRM practices are predominantly informal yet highly adaptive, characterized by community-based recruitment, on-the-job training, and trust-based performance evaluation. Career development is facilitated through internal mentoring and social recognition rather than formal promotion systems, which effectively strengthens employee motivation, loyalty, and retention. This study contributes theoretically by extending contextual HRM literature through empirical evidence from a rural, community-based hospitality setting, highlighting how social values and participatory culture can function as strategic HRM mechanisms. Practically, the findings offer actionable insights for medium-scale hospitality enterprises, particularly in developing regions, on how integrating social capital with professional HRM practices can improve operational effectiveness and support long-term business sustainability.

Abstract

Speaking, as a critical component of language acquisition, is often hindered by factors such as low confidence, limited vocabulary, and reluctance to use English in class. This research investigates the effectiveness of the Time Token Arends (TTA) cooperative learning strategy in enhancing the speaking ability of eleventh-grade students at SMAN 1 Mataram.  Through Classroom Action Research (CAR), this study was conducted over two cycles involving 21 students. The instruments used included speaking tests, observations, and questionnaires, with the speaking tests focusing on pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and fluency. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ speaking performance—from a pre-test average of 52.14 to a post-test cycle I average of 71.42 and finally to 82.61 in cycle II. Additionally, 95.23% of students achieved the minimum mastery criterion after the second cycle. The findings suggest that TTA is an effective and engaging strategy to boost students' speaking fluency and confidence. The research implies valuable insights for teachers seeking innovative methods to encourage active language use and equitable participation in speaking activities.

Abstract

This study investigates the significance of the Small Group Discussion (SGD) method in enhancing students’ English-speaking performance at SMKN 1 Pujut. The research applied a quasi-experimental design involving two groups: an experimental group taught using Small Group Discussion and a control group taught through conventional methods. Both groups consisted of 34 students. The data were collected through pre-test and post-test to measure students’ speaking ability, focusing on four aspects: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency. The treatment was conducted in three meetings. During the learning process, students in the experimental group actively participated in group discussions, while those in the control group followed traditional teacher-centered instruction. The results were analyzed using an independent samples t-test. The findings showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups, where the experimental group achieved a higher mean score of 66.76 compared to 53.67 in the control group, with a t-value of -6.717 and a significance level (p) < 0.05. The results indicate that the Small Group Discussion method helps improve students’ speaking achievement and encourages more active and confident participation during classroom interaction.

Abstract

A crucial component of the legal system that governs how the testator's posthumous assets are divided among his heirs is inheritance law. Indonesia now has two different systems of inheritance law in place: civil inheritance law and Islamic inheritance law. Islamic inheritance law is based on the Qur'an, Hadith, and the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), whereas civil inheritance law is regulated by the Civil Code (KUHPer). These two systems have differences principles, distribution mechanisms, and dispute resolution. These differences are often a source of problems in practice, especially for people between the two legal systems. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to compare Indonesian civil and Islamic inheritance laws in order to give a more thorough understanding of their traits, parallels, and divergences. The study employs a comparative legal perspective and a normative legal research methodology. The legal provisions found in both Islamic and civil law's inheritance-related laws and regulations are examined using the normative legal approach. To find the distinctions and parallels between the two legal systems, a comparative legal technique is also employed. This study's data sources include secondary legal documents like books and pertinent periodicals, as well as main legal materials like the Indonesian Compilation of Laws, the Civil Code, and other laws. It is anticipated that this study will aid in the development of Indonesian inheritance law, particularly by offering suggestions for initiatives to unify civil and Islamic inheritance laws in order to establish legal clarity and fairness in the distribution of inheritance in society

Abstract

Background: As sustainable finance gains prominence, blockchain technology has emerged as an innovative tool to enhance transparency, efficiency, and trust in Islamic capital markets. Blockchain-based Green Sukuk is one of the applications in finance and has the potential to attract investment interest from Generation Z, a demographic characterized by a strong openness to innovation. Objectives: This study aims to examines the determinants of Generation Z’s investment interest in Indonesia’s blockchain-based Green Sukuk. Novelty: This study addresses the relationships between digital financial literacy, Islamic fintech, and Generation Z’s investment interest in blockchain-based green sukuk. Research Methodology / Design: This research adopts a quantitative approach, collecting survey data from Generation Z respondents with knowledge or experience in digital financial services. The study focuses on two main predictors: digital financial literacy and Islamic fintech adoption. Findings: Findings reveal that higher digital financial literacy significantly increases the likelihood of investing in blockchain-based Green Sukuk, as it equips young investors with the ability to assess risks, understand product features, and navigate digital investment platforms. Furthermore, Islamic fintech serves as an enabler by providing Sharia-compliant, user-friendly, and accessible channels for sustainable investment products. The integration of blockchain in Green Sukuk issuance is found to strengthen investor confidence by ensuring accountability and traceability of funds toward environmentally beneficial projects. Implication: The results offer practical implications for policymakers, Islamic financial institutions, and fintech providers seeking to engage younger generations in sustainable Islamic finance. By combining sustainability goals, Sharia compliance, and emerging technology, this study contributes to bridging the gap between environmental objectives and the evolving investment preferences of Generation Z in Indonesia.
